They look interesting. I just ordered a set on Amazon for 19.99 with free shipping. They are out of stock until 10/10/18.

I ordered a set. Work great. Then ordered 3 more. Had normal "V" wrench racks and the Ernst style double which never seemed to stay in place despite the magnet.

The widget is modular and holds items well. Magnet works great. One thing i wish it had - and he said he's working on - is an insert for the top so it could be labeled.

Overall good product and worth trying.

I’m liking the way you can add or make them custom. If you buy more wrenches just add some rack parts. I’m putting this on my Christmas wishlist.

I'm going to order some also. I have a some oddball wrenches that have bent chopped or bent into off shapes to accomplish a task. These usually are dumped into the bottom drawer in a pile until they're needed again.

My set arrived and I was pleased enough to order a few more to organize my two wrench drawers.

I do have a few comments

(1) They seem to be unfinished. The tops of the holders are open and hollow. Something seems to be missing.

(2) They hold the wrenches completely verticals so if you don’t have an eye for them, it might be difficult for some to easily grab the right size. The positive to this is they are stored very compactly.

(3) The value of the “missing” tool feature may be a bit over stated. It is simply the bottoms of the slots being colored orange. You are just as apt to notice the empty slot as the orange at the bottom.

All in all, I am happy with my purchase and would recommend the to anyone looking for a compact wrench rack.

I emailed the owner about this because that was what i thought was the only downside. Apparently he wants to make inserts for labeling (not sure if meant prelabeled or DYI) but, he could'nt, due to cost constraints, at the current time. I think he's boot strapping this effort as he goes.

Thanks for sharing your observations. I'm still on the fence about getting some. because of that unfinished open top look to the organizer.

I purchased 4 sets and they work pretty good. They are not too tall and the magnetic bases keep them solidly in place, even through my foam liners.

How are you guys liking these? I love my ernst racks but need something for deep offset wrenches and maybe some other seldom used stuff.

Does the magnet hold the wrench in place or just the rack to the drawer? Do wrenches roll back and forth in the V or does it grip them so they dont?

See my comments in RED below.

I wanted to like them but, I prefer my KRA15 wrench rails. The widgets have a slightly larger footprint than the rails and cost considerably more.

Does the magnet hold the wrench in place or just the rack to the drawer? the magnet only holds the widget to the drawer. the widgets also interlock with each other Do wrenches roll back and forth in the V or does it grip them so they dont? The widget doesn't grip the wrench unless possibly a larger size wrench, then there would be some friction as the wrench touches the sides of the V

I like them, and have been buying more and more of them. The magnets hold well through thin foam drawer liners, but wrenches or screwdrivers are not held in the slots. If used on a mobile tool box this might be an issue, but that is not my situation so I don't know for sure. They do well at organizing the tools in the drawer, and that gives me more space for more tools. Hmmm...

The open tops are for SAE and Metric size labels that clip into the holes. He has those labels now. Check the web site.

The only beef I have is the labels are missing a few sizes, but his Face Book site says he is working on that.

A Bonus is it is a veteran owned company in the USA.

I recently ordered a set to try and save room. Much to my dismay they take up more space then my Ernst wrench racks that hold them at a 45° angle. At 8 3/4" long they only hold 10 wrenches whereas I was able to get 12+ with Ernst. They actually cost me space. I really wanted to like them, they just aren't for me. Maybe if I could get them sized for my toolbox, maybe on a roll somehow to reduce center to center spacing.

I'm on the fence about these. I used them for my XL double box end wrenches, and LOVED them for that. That was the first run of them they made, and in fact I won them on one of their promotions.

Then I re-ordered (big order), had to wait over a YEAR for them, which was ridiculous. When they showed up I was super excited, but I was severely disappointed. Pretty much everything else I put in them took up more room than how I had them stored before. I still use some, but they aren't for everything or everyone. My Ernst rails still have the majority of my wrenches.

Yes! They work really well with storing deep double box ended wrenches where some other systems would struggle.

This must have been a while ago.

Yep.... "Different strokes for different folks".

I took out the Ernest rails and replaced them with the Widgets! I think the Wigets are a lot more stable than the Ernest rails with magnetic bottoms that I had. For the larger wrenches, they really rock!

Have to agree with FatBoy148. I also replaced My Ernst and E-Z Red wrench rails with Widgets and not regretting it a bit. The only problem was with my old (late '70's - early '80's) 26" wide Snap-On boxes not having sufficient height in the shallow drawers for the Widgets without some judicious trimming/sanding/filing of the plastic to get the proper clearance for drawer operation. Spoke with John the owner today (a great guy, by the way!), and he is 110% committed to customer service! Told me about new items coming down the pipe in the next 6 - 12 months and I think that we'll be seeing some really innovative storage ideas coming out of this company! As a veteran-owned business, Toolbox Widget is more than worthy of our support.

They hold up the big crescent wrenches.

Slodat - which organizer do you have for your mini ignition wrenches.

Box looks sharp. I need to order some of these widgets.

The ignition wrench organizer is 3D printed model from Thingiverse.

The Toolbox Widgets are not cheap but I think they work well to get the density in a drawer.

They look really nice but expensive. For the price they could easily include the labels. Actually I think a fair price would be $12 per set, it not like they are metal or precision items....opinion is from having $400 in Time Savers Socket holders.

I like their screwdriver organizers, but didn't really care for the wrench organizers. I'm happy with these Ernst organizers for my Craftsman RP wrenches. Their gripper sets are also nice for smaller sets.

I have primarily Ernst as well, and I'm happy with them. If anything I think they pack the wrenches a little more densely than the widgets.

I do have one set of the Widgets for my large wenches that were too big for the Ernst, up to 36mm. That's one advantage of them is they hold almost any size wrench. But in order to hold the big sizes, the spacing on smaller sizes is quite large (unless there are other style widgets different from mine).

I am the exact opposite. I replaced the Ernst wrench rail sets with the Widgets and I didn't find the Widget screwdriver rack all that appealing.

Here's a pic of VIM socket rails being used to hold wrenches, etc...
drawerpic_10183612.png

A few days ago, I was showing "the neighbor kid" (who is now an adult working as a auto mechanic) my 16" Magrails when I let two of them get together. The issue was, it got a chunk of my finger in between when the magnets slammed together. No blood blister, it removed a piece of skin from my pointer finger almost the size of a pencil's diameter. Needless to say, their magnets work well!

The reason I got rid of my Ernst style wrench organizers was simply their triangular shape. I find I can fit more wrenches in a drawer when one edge on the rack is parallel to the drawer edge. Then I can put a mirror version on the other side of the drawer and make more effective use of the space.

I originally used the Ernst rails that are two separate pieces. They worked great. Then I found the widgets which allowed me to build a much more customizable solution to my unruly wrench drawers.

This makes a lot of sense. Did you have to use 2 sets of widgets per wrench set, or just the one that supports the one end?
