Local guy mentioned he was moving, and asked if I wanted his tool boxes, said all I had to do was pick them up. Just got back with them, going to take a bit to clean them up but I'm happy!

I sense much suckage in the force. :) You **** for that nice score. Plus you own a Falcon -- one of the coolest cars ever!

That old MAC stack is a classic! The Craftsman is nice to have for overflow. All in all, I'd nominate this for Suckage of the Week.

You ****!!!!

I have almost identical tool boxes. My red/dark gray craftsman bottom rolling chest is older though with an earlier badge style and my Mac Tool Boxes are the wider version MB910/920 with the middle chest and side drawer box included as well. But I paid fair market value for them. Nice score indeed.

This^^^ Take the opportunity, while its empty, to disassemble that MAC box, and spray a couple of coats of MAC red on it. Its definitely worth the trouble. Nice score.

Very cool Falcon! Is it a 63? Convertible or hardtop? Auto or 4-speed?

Hello Memebers.
I have been checking out Garage Journal for sometime and decided to join. After seeing this thread on free box I decided to post.
I have a older mid 70's Mac box set up like this one in like new condition. it has 8 draw bottom and 10 draw top box.
The set are in like new shape. I would like to sell set and purchase the larger Snapon service cart KRSC46G in extreme green. I would like to know what I can get for it so I can move on buying my new box. I was considering keeping the box since I have had it since new. I was 16 year old with a part time job at the time I purchased it.

Backpack Hunter: I see you're from North Carolina, I'm from East Tenn. and I always wondered why the trees in Tenn. leaned toward N.C.; now I know ... You ****! :) Really though nice score and Falcon!
I'll be in Boone, N.C. for my nephew's travel ball tournament this weekend.

You ****! Love those old Mac boxes, I've got a 33" Matco top box in the same style. What part of NC are you from? I grew up in Concord, but joined the Air Force and ended up on the west coast. I miss Bojangle's...

Word of advice, keep the Mac box.. Better yet start a new thread and post pics of it.. But seriously keep it. You will kick yourself later down the road for getting rid of it.

Hey Bluejoe, Welcome. Yeah, i agree, definitely keep it. I'm guessing in the $300-$500 range depending on your area and size of the city.

Its worth more than that in practical and sentimental value. Keep the most often used tools in the mobile cart, but keep the MAC, it'll come in very handy.

keep the old boxes. my last couple SO dealers had zero interest in older boxes, especially not being a SO.

Extreme western NC, almost equal distance from GA and TN.......my wife would disagree, but Bojangles is horrible!

...

Now I'd do everything except the paint. I'd clean every bit of grime and sticker off and use it with the patina. To me even the non faded paint under the stickers looks cool on an old box like that.

(Not that there's anything wrong with your approach, different strokes for different folks.)
