Just tested it and it seems to work. I DON'T like the fact that you have to give them your credit card number PRIOR to getting a freight quote. They say they'll contact you for approval, but that's chancy.

Sounds fishy to me that they would need a credit card no. for a freight quote.

Becareful and double check with that quote price check, I have heard of ToolDiscounter before, because I had to do some pricing matching with them in the pass.

Price quotes that go by freight only needs three things, Weight, City, Zip code.

I just went to the site and on the shopping cart page, between Continue Shopping and Go To Checkout is the link Check Shipping Charges which asks me only my zip code and tells me how much it costs to ship the items in my basket.

I have ordered several times from them with no problems. You can call and place an order too if there is a problem with the webpage.

TOOLDISCOUNTER.COM Complaint

STAY FAR AWAY FROM TOOLDISCOUNTER.COM
WORST online company I have experienced. I have been waiting weeks for an order. They have provided no update on shipping/delivery information after the purchase.
In addition, they are VERY inconsiderate and do not reply to customer emails.

WORST online company I have experienced. I have been waiting weeks for an order. They have provided no update on shipping/delivery information after the purchase.

Hi there,

Hello to every one since It's my first reply on the site.
So to go on I made an order at tooldiscounter since there retail price, shipping and fees were the cheapest to me compared to for example; mytoolsforyou and jbtoolsales. Because the first reason is that more then 75% of all the online tool store won't ship to Canada without a USA address ( bongo or MyUSA ), so anyway I did pay the day after the order was confirmed just like I do on Ebay and after nearly 2 weeks with no answer at all I send them a E-mail...Nothing.

So I called them, the guy was kind to make it a rush and call the manufacture 'cause they were out of stock. And he said that the system made a mistake by not showing the real availability in store and thus forgetting about my order.
Then 2 more weeks after and still waiting, I left another E-mail but had to call them because they were not responding.
Finally after nearly 6 weeks of hoping it got to my mailbox !

I must say I was very disappointed but happy. Since at the end it was well packed, and with no extra charges of what so ever; taxes, fees, border, etc.
But for me will there be a next time ? Don't know...
All I say is if you order from them, you better call to get quick respond, and make sure to wright down the name of the representative you served you ! Don't waste your time on outlook!

And at the end if there is anyone of you guys out there who could give me an advise or refer me an online tool store that'll be cool! Just remember it has to be worldwide and preferably USPS shipping.
Anyways thanks in advance
Yours truly
Richard L.

P.s. Sorry for my spelling I'm from Quebec Canada (long live to Eugenie Bouchard who put Montreal, Qc on the map !!)

I have ordered from them several times. They have some great prices. Your trick with them is to call and only order what they have on hand. They will ship quick and no problems. If you order 5 things and only 3 are in stock you will wait. They do not like to ship an order without it being complete. The restocking of inventory etc is not the quickest.

I should have searched them and found this thread before placing my order.:lol_hitti

It was some of the worst customer service I have seen in a long time.

Bought a $460 paint gun.
Right on their website it says:
"Our Inventory Status: available for order"

So I ordered. 5 or 6 hours later get an email saying it's out of stock. Ordering from the manufacture "might" take 7-10 days before anything else will happen with the order.

I sent an email asking why it took so long to email me saying it was on back order and why their website allows ordering items on back order without at least admitting it's not there in stock?

So after 2 days of no response to my polite email I called. The guy was VERY rude. Basically said "Not my fault as I can't keep things like that in stock. Not my fault as Goggle specifies what the website needs to say. Not my fault the manufacture takes 7-10 days to get it to me. Not my fault, not my fault.... Do you want me to just cancel the order?"

I was like...wow... I don't really care if it takes 10 days. I just want the website to be accurate. I want your customer service to be prompt emailing me. And maybe expedited shipping since I had to wait. But since you've been so rude and aren't sorry for anything go ahead and cancel my order. I can find someone else to take my money and do so without being rude.

He then said good luck finding someone else that has it in stock and hung up on me.

I went online and found the same item, same price, with their website clearly saying 5 in stock. Ordered. Done. Then proceeded to write as many reviews as I can find for the terrible company that shouldn't be in business.

DO NOT SHOP WITH TOOLDISCOUNTER.COM

I'm really surprised at the responses here. I bought a PI torque wrench from them that was near impossible to find elsewhere; they also had the lowest price I could find on it. They did not have the wrench in stock, but they did special order it for me.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised when I called their number and someone picked up the phone right away. He didn't come off as rude at all, and was able to answer all my questions.

NOTE:

With these guys, IN STOCK and AVAILABLE FOR ORDER are two entirely different things! "In stock" means exactly what it says. "Available for order" means it is not in stock but they will order for you.

Edit: To Punisher Vette, there are a lot of websites out there that allow you to order items that are on backorder or non-stock, especially when it comes to tools. This allows them to sell you obscure items that aren't worth stocking. Also, their website wasn't incorrect--as I said above, in stock items are listed as "in stock" and special order items are listed as "available for order."

To your credit, they should clarify the difference on their website, or maybe reword the "available for order" status.

I have only ordered two items, from tooldiscounter.com. The first thing was a mechanic creeper chairbwith tool box, and just this past weekend a set of 12 point impact sockets. The sockets said "In Stock" on their website but after I completed my order I got a email stating the item will ship in 1-2 weeks not sure why but I will call after read a ton of negative reviews.

Ordered a CIS pressure gauge 4/27, immediately got a confirmation. As of 5/4 nothing, no email, no tracking number. Sent an email to customer service and asked when the tool will be shipped and *crickets*

Still haven't debited my card though.

EDIT;
Two days after I posted the above^I got an email from Tooldiscounter and said the order would take another week, maybe two.
Ridiculous!
Cancelled the order.

Items may ship directly from the manufacturer and be held up there. There should be contact and updates on status. They are local to me so I will use will call to grab stuff they have in stock. They have always answered the phone when I have called. Their pricing is usually the best and I have had lengthy lead times from other tool retailers on items also.

I've purchased from them before. Precision Instruments torque wrenches- shipped immediately. Channellock stuff- no word for a week. I called in, mentioned the pliers number and the guy instantly told me those will be in tomorrow and they will ship tomorrow, and they did.

Not the best communication, not everything is stocked. The pricing pretty much can't be beat and everything made it in one piece. I have had similar experience with HJ Epstein. KCTool has backordered stuff but better communication. Way better than chadstoolbox still

Just had to cancel. Nine days after being charged and "order not found" on the website. Plenty of other places to spend my $$.

Just saw this thread. I ordered a split beam torque wrench in April and it shipped right away. I guess it’s hit or miss.

Thanks to all that posted here. I was looking at a small engine tach that most places have for $127 and higher. Tool Discounter has it for $95 plus $10 flat rate shipping. $105 looks great if I ever would get delivery. The tach is made in Canada. I don't think I'll risk it. It reminds me of the old joke about the guy complaining to the store owner that the guy down the street has a much better price. Why didn't you buy it from him, asks the store owner. He was out of stock, says the customer. If I was out of stock I would be even cheaper, says the store owner.

I am actually surprised to see this thread. I just stumbled across it now. I've ordered several things from them and have been happy with all my purchases so far. Maybe five orders now? .... Maybe I've been lucky.

I purchased a pi torque wrench and breaker bar from them. They had the best price. Emailed and Dan responded quickly. Told me it would ship week of 7/1 and it did. Zero issues. It was my only purchase to date. But a good experience.

I ordered three Power Probe master cylinder adapters a couple of months ago. At the time I ordered, one was out of stock. While waiting for that one, Power Probe got behind in production and prices went up across the board. I thought that would affect my order but ToolDiscounter honored the original prices. I was impressed.

I placed my first order with them (Mayhew Dominator Pry Bar) set on 12/13/18 (they shipped that afternoon) and received via FedEx on 12/19/18. Received email confirmation & updates promptly and product arrived in perfect condition. I will definitely continue to look to them as a source. Good price, good service.

First time ordering from tooldiscounter.com - Placed an order for a specialty tool and got an email saying it would be 2-3 weeks. That wasn't going to work so called to doublecheck. Guy on the phone was super nice, apologized for the confusion, went to the warehouse to physically get the tool in his hand and said it would ship out today. I'll update when I receive, but great customer service so far.
