I have a set of their 1/2"drive deep sockets , which have been OK so far I do not however like the etched on size that is doomed to wear off.Overall I don't think they are any better or worse than all the other Taiwanese brands available like Kincrome, SP,Repco and Stanley so I guess it's what's on special I would be looking for.

They changed suppliers sometime this year on some stuff. Spanners have turned to **** and pliers have become great.... so the reverse in other words.
Spanners with the fancy Toolpro logo were great. The new ones with a plain Toolpro stamp while they may be good they pale compared to what they sold a year ago. Very light just overall er yeah nah.
Sockets are ok I had the full set in 3 drive sizes but the ratchets were a bit sloppy
Lot of various bits and pieces are in my toolbox. Even some SCA stuff.
Even better when it’s on sale

There are a couple of situations when buying Toolpro is ok.

- When you don't have one and you need it. NOW!
- When you're an apprentice and keep losing your tools

I've sampled a few of their tools and remain unimpressed. Quality and design (as noted above) depends on who submitted the lowest tender although occasionally there are good ones, but that changes next week.

If you're looking for good quality, but sensibly priced tools then Gearwrench is hard to go past, even if it's a full level above. Look for specials and always check out Ebay and Amazon where you can sometimes get things from the States for a fraction of what's being charged here. Other alternatives are some of the Boxo range at Sydney Tools or TTI at Total Tools. All have lifetime warranty.

Yeah I was interstate this time last year and grabbed their biggest socket and Spanner set to do some stuff. It’s lived in the ute for the past year so it’s ridden hard put away wet does the job.
I was very impressed with the old spanners though and do have a lifetime warranty.
My biggest gripe with the sockets is the sloppy fit and play in the head almost like using a wobble
All the places home brands seem on par with each other generally but one local brand I find 27 years later that new stuff is the same as the old is Toolex.
