Tools by Mail from Menards

[Empty Pockets]

On 12/10 I ordered 2 sets of flex head gearwrench ratcheting wrenches from Menards through their web site. This was necessary as there is no Menards anywhere near my home.

I immediately checked the site, and it said that they would be shipped on 12/11.

For the next several days I have checked the site, it still says they will be shipped on 12/11.

On 12/15, I sent an email to Menards Customer (no)Service, I was promised that they would be shipped on 12/16

During the evening of the 16th, I checked the site again, the tools are not yet shipped, but the site says they will be shipped on 12/11.

Has anyone had a similar problem, or is it my fault for expecting them to be shipped during December of this year?

I live in Los Angeles and there are no Menards near me either but I did order some tools a few times through their website. Now that you mention it I did follow up on one of the orders that seemed to take too long. I contacted them by email and as I recall they took care of it and I received it shortly thereafter. I don't recall all of the details as it was a couple of years ago and I didn't think it was a big deal at the time. I don't think it was during the holiday season though.

I ordered four sets of the MasterForce (rebranded Pratt-Read) hook & pick sets on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 8:45am. According to the Menards Order Tracking info, the order was shipped out from Lewis Center, OH, by 9:46am of the same day to Fed Ex. However, the FedEx tracking info shows that FedEx did not "pick up" the order until 4pm on Monday, Dec. 14, in Columbus, OH.

Per the FedEx tracking info, the shipment is slowly making its way across PA and MD headed for my home in VA. Unfortunately, for me, deliver is not forecast until Dec. 22. Too late to make an early Christmas party.

But, to your question, the Menards order processing was reasonable considering I placed my order on a Saturday and it shipped on Monday. FedEx is probably jammed with packages so I guess a total of 10 days with two intervening weekends isn't unreasonable.

As a follow up, The tools arrived today on 12/17. for whatever reason, they shipped the 2 sets of wrenches in 2 separate boxes.

Funny thing is, that the web site doesn't show them being shipped, yet.

They have arrived, so I'll give Menards credit for fast shipment, but maybe their web site needs a little attention

I ordered some crowfoot flare nut wrenches on Sunday, Dec 13. They arrived today, Sat, Dec. 19. Decent looking wrenches, by the way.
