Tools by the pound

I was at a car show today and noticed a vendor selling new tools by the pound - I thought it was a novel approach. It was all offshore stuff but it looked fairly decent, mainly sockets and socket sets.

I was at a garage sale probably 20 years ago where they were selling morse taper drill bits by the pound.
