Tools for a Princess

I've got a little princess (her 4th birthday theme was a fairy princess tea party) who also loves working alongside me with her tool set. But she told me she is tired of her miniature tools (among others, a metal ratchet and socket set at 1:5 scale) and wants "big tools, like Daddy's" for Christmas. How can I refuse? :D

Her favorite colors are pink and purple, so I think it would be cool to get her pink or purple handled tools. So far I've found the salty Snap-on sets, toy sets, homeowners sets, gardening sets, craft sets, woodworking tools and lots of pink accessories and workwear but no mechanic's tool sets. Does anyone have any leads on relatively inexpensive pink or purple mechanic's tool set?

Got my 12 year old Princess a set of Craftsman tools to start with earlier this year. She got into my rollaway and used some of my SO ratchets and commented on how nice they were. For her birthday I got here a SO T72 and 5 position ratcheting screw driver. She was really happy w/ them. Just spent three hours with her this last Sat getting her quad ready for the dunes. She did all the vehicle maintenance herself. Had to teach her how to use a torque wrench and convert ft/lbs to inch/pounds. She really got into it. It was a great afternoon spent with her!

could always just paint a cheapo set pink ratchet and sockets purple

Yup thats what I'd do.. get some stuff with more of a industrial or rough finish and spray em up. Its cool that your little one wants to mimic you. Good job Dad!

Little 4 year old girls love Makita drills. If you put a Phillips bit in the chuck and get a 2x4 with a handful of drywall screws ... awe man ... it's fun to watch. :D

Don't know all of what your looking for but meijer (at least the one by me) had a dozen or so pink/purple handled tools in the tool aisle there. From what I remember they had a hammer, needle nose pliers, a tape measure, screwdriver(s), adjustable wrench, and a couple other things.

Not exactly a mechanics tool set but something to get you started for her.

I made a saw horse set for my 3 and five year olds and let them go to town on them with rip saws and claw hammers.

I believe it was mothers day when Sears released two tool boxes/chest/combo items: PB2605R, and PB2603C.

I don't know what is wrong with Chrome, since they seem to like Shiney as well, just have to keep your eye out for other tools that are colored (screwdrivers, etc.)

Another option, since a lot of people don't like the Craftsman cabinets, it to find a used one and paint it together (father/daughter project).

In the Sears tool catalog I think I remember seeing some pink tools and boxes. In the Sears by me, right by the cash register, there are no name screwdrivers or something that have pink and purple flowers on them. When I'm there Friday ,I'll take a better look and let you know.

Pink and purple homeowner's bag has a hammer, tape measure, Allen wrenches, and an interchangeable bit screwdriver among other things.
