Tools for Beer?

Its nice having a good relationship with my local tool / engineering supply shop:

These two Gearwrenches (brand new) for 2 boxes of beer - good deal?
(a box is a 12 pack in NZ)...

Both are 9/16, 1/2 inch combinations, exactly what I need to remove the starter motor from a 1950`s diesel landrover.

Anyone else pull off these sort of deals?

I'd do it, but I don't know what a 12 pack runs down there. I'd give a couple 12 packs of Pabst or Schlitz...

Say 12 Speights (the local beer in Dunedin) would run you about $15-18NZD on average (say $8.10 - $9.72 USD), if that puts it in perspective. RRP for the 'S' wrench was $68 NZD ($36 USD).

I like beer and tools, Its easy to part with cash for either or but I'm not sure if I could use beer or tools as currency.

I would trade tools for beer without even blinking (assuming appropriate ages of course). Last time I tried drinking beer after 1 I walked outside and projectile vomited twice in the span of 1 minute.

Gawd Merkava, where are you buying your Corona? It's swill anyway, but it's $5.99 around here. I've had 3 beers this century, so I'm not real hip to beers anymore, but I do buy a lot of Landshark Lager at our little local liquor store(for my wife)...trying to support local business.

Landshark is an ABInbev product, but the packaging shows some oddball brewery in Key West or somesuch...but if it helps mama unwind on Friday night, so be it.

My wife got turned onto it by a friend's husband who is an electrician at the big AB plant on Pestalozzi Street, they make it in one of their breweries, and distribute it, but put the other name on it. It's a marketing thing...
