Tools for removing Orings

I'm working on a project that has orings and I need a good set of tools to delicately remove the orings without damaging them. Can anyone make some recommendations? There are some tiny orings in 3/32 OD range and some larger ones in the 1" OD range that I'll be working with on the project.

I googled "oring tool" and there are a lot of different kinds out there. Some made of brass. Others made of plastic.

I had to fiddle with o rings all day long at my last job and out of all the specialty tweezers and picks we had, we all used to just have an assortment of different gauge welding rod and could sharpen it, round it off or bend it whichever way to work and just cut the end off if it needed to reach something else. Still what i always reach for, just need to be careful that the o ring doesnt shear

I rebuild cylinders for a living and what I did was took a Snap-On pocket screwdriver and smoothed the sharp edges on a belt sander then run it through a wire wheel. For larger seals I used 6 and 10 inch long cabinet tip screwdrivers using the same method to smooth them. Snap-On makes seal tools but they have sharp edges that could damage seals.

i get my oring picks from HF

i loose them before they get a chance to bend or break.

I use picks for small o-rings as well. Cheap set of Stanleys from Walmart. Grind and polish the tips to get rid of the sharp point.

I have a set of these and a set of Craftsman picks. Works well enough for me that I haven't spent any time looking for something better.

I worked in a hydraulic repair shop for 2 years prior to my current job, rebuilt thousands of cylinders, valves and pumps. I like the 4pc Snap~On mini hook and pick set, but just about any hook and pick set will do. I like the Large Craftsman (Mayhew) hook and pick set as well for larger seals. Keep cheap modified screwdrivers around too. I always use a bit of grease on all seals as well to ease install of parts.

Yup, Mayhew mini hook and pick set for me too. Saved my *** trying to remove a recessed oring about 3" deep in a bore.
