I dunno yet.. but the siding is vinyl...

Most likely remove and replace underlying OSB then replace damaged ones...

some area have rots.. from the pic.. don't know yet... they are 250miles away :(

Malco SideSwiper Siding Removal Tool
See this on Homedepot.com
OMSID#: 100098527
Store SKU#: 805691

I’ve had one for years it works great and only costs around $5 at Home Depot.

Here is a video on how it works.

Ok finally find a store that that have "Malco SideSwiper Siding Removal Tool" apparently not every search is the same in homedepot , dependent on the location you set it...

Ok thanks.

Anything else I would need other than base hand tools ?

I have the nipper and side cutters hammer etc...

Slap stapler for housewrap over OSB.
Trim nail punch could come in handy. I usually set the last top piece with a nail through the lock. It can also prove useful for J-channel.
The big speed square can be useful for marking cuts.

Hammer, Red and Green handle snips, utility knife, flat pry bar, cats paw and speed square. I hung siding for 12 years for our family business when I was younger and these were the tools I always had in my bags. I am sure I had a nail set in there as well and of course a tape measure. I can honestly say I have never saw the need for a removal tool. Just stick you hand in an overlap and pull down a bit and the siding will unlock.

I use a notching tool that locks the last piece into the undersill trim. They make clips but the notching tool works without the clips. No face nails and the siding can expand and contract without buckling.

I've been out of the business for several years. There may well be a more modern approach.

Yep. Ive used it a few times on tricky locks, but most the time, just getting rough with it works. (The head of a nail will work too.) Its very forgiving, unless you live in the arctic.

Soooooo much easier though with that $5 tool. Kobalt model from Lowe’s ( light blue handle) = same thing. Works great and saves you fingers .

I like to shoot the corners with a transit to confirm my starting line is level. Not necessary and something I've never seen another contractor do but it sure cuts down on ******** half way up the wall if you start dead level on the bottom

I'd also suggest an angle grinder with a slicer blade. That is all I use to do the majority of cutting. Works especially well on the angle gable cuts.
