What tools do you recommend for camper trailers. I don't do the whole camping thing, but my wife does. I want her to be well equipped.

Well equipped ??!!!!

My "travel tool box" (cheap 17" Craftsman plastic) contains
  • 1/4" sockets, English and metric, extensions, u-joint, screwdriver handle
  • 3/8" sockets, English and metric, standard and deep, extensions, u-joint, ratchet, flex head ratchet
  • English and metric combination wrenches
  • 2 sizes of adjustable wrenches
  • various standard and Phillips screwdrivers
  • Magnetic tip screwdriver with multiple interchangeable bits
  • 2 sizes of Vice Grips
  • 2 sizes of Channel Locks
  • pliers
  • wire cutter
  • needle nose
  • hammer
  • DMM with various leads and clips
  • Hack saw and blades
  • knife

Non-tool items

  • Clean rags
  • Stainless safety wire (10')
  • Insulated stranded copper wire (10')
  • Electrical tape
  • Strong nylon braided string
  • Silicon dielectric grease
  • Zipper lock bags

All of the tools are in heavy duty zipper lock bags (no worry about rust). This little box (17") weighs at least 50 lbs.

I probably have forgotten something I jammed in there. I need to add a cheater bar for the 3/8 ratchet.

Any other recommendations ?

popup, or box? Need to add spare washers for the water line. Tooling is pretty much what should already be in any vehicle's box. In the camper, I keep a tin of liquid electric tape, makes for good emergency leak sealant on canvas or tin

Don't forget the #2 square (Robertson) screwdriver!

I keep a cheap tool kit inside the trailer (a $5 Ikea (shut up) kit with an adjustable wrench, a claw hammer and a screwdriver with tons of bits including the #2 Robbie) along with some electrical and duct tape, a variety of screws, bolts, nuts, washers and nails and other trinkets, some hose washers, flashlights, safety triangles, a shovel, broom, an old crowbar, fireplace tongs and poker, spare bulbs for inside and outside, some 16ga electric wire and some other bits for plumbing and such. Of course, I also carry my road warrior tool kit with everything in it including an electric impact wrench enough to practically rebuild the thing at a moment's notice. The previous stuff is kept in the trailer itself, and has been indispensable. That Ikea tool set? Used more often than expected, by far.

I would suggest extra hitch pins for your load equalizing hitch (don't ask why I suggested them :lol_hitti). A good hydraulic bottle jack and self-leveling RV roof caulk. YMMV.
