Tools for the wife?

I thought this comment was something everyone should discuss that was brought up by Wythors

"For Christmas last year my wife asked for tools because she likes to do home improvement-type projects herself. So I got her a tool box and an assortment of quality tools including a set of Craftsman Professional screwdrivers, a set of miscellaneous Channelock pliers, a 10" Crescent wrench and a Black & Decker Mouse sander. Now she doesn't complain that she can't find anything in my toolbox and I don't have to worry about where my sidecutters are."


So do you guys buy your wife good quality tools to keep in the house for around the house nessicity tools....or what does your wife keep for this type of thing...of course your wife or girlfriend could just use your stuff

my wife just goes and gets what she needs in my toolbox in the garage and she never complains she can't find it, its usually VERY organized and every tool has its place. Right now even I can't find anything but that is what house remodeling and pulling the motor/gearbox out at the same time does to a garage.

Well we dont with my mom... shes got myself and my old man around lol. She can do basic stuff herself though, which is pretty cool i supose

My wife has her own tools.....but she uses mine....probably because mine are far better quality

It's not that my tools are disorganized, just that I have 38 drawers between my two toolboxes.

As far as quality of tools go, I never buy cheap stuff. My wife loves to cook, so she get quality "tools" for that: JA Henckels 5-star knives, Dacor range, etc. I don't begrudge her that high-end kitchen stuff and she doesn't hassle me when I want to buy tools for either her or me. I'd never buy her Taiwan **** for her home improvement hobby. My philosphy has always been to buy the best quality product I can afford because you get what you pay for.

I bought my wife a 151 piece craftsman tool set for christmas. She wheels her cherokee and a lot of times we're not in the same groups. I figured if she had the tools in her jeep, someone on the trial will know how to use them.

Haha yeah. As for the kitchen stuff, Most everybody in my family loves to cook, so no cheap stuff thier. My parents are planning a remodel in the kitchen within the next year or so, and you can betch your *** theres gunna be a viking range. Hoffritz knives are good stuff too, right up there with the JA henkels. youhave to watch out with the JA henkel knives because there are 3 levels.... cheap... made in japan, mid range, made in spain, then the GOOOOOOD ones which are made in Germany. Def. a quality difference, but theres also a big $$$ difference too.

I thought Japanese made excellent knives???

Ive heard that before... but I dont do that much gardening... The only plants I grow are exotic pepper plants and those are in pots, so its low maintenance

The newspaper article said the "Dex" is a completely unregulated compound that can be bought via the internet by anybody in an almost pure form. It's very easy to completely shut down your pulmonary system with the **** and is the latest thing with the idiots that get off on abusing their bodies.

yeah I hear ya. I know of kids who have completely ruined thier lives on drugs... hell ones 17 and hes still a freshman.

Drinking is one thing, as long as your not COMPLETELY trashed... but drugs are a whole 'nother story... not cool
