Yes, and little to much on this one. :) I am lazy and my tool pics are taken in rather dark room. Do not blame Nikon, blame me :headscrat

Don't blame on you nor on your Nikon, have you got Photoshop CS3 or newer?
I tell you this because, with such versions of Photoshop, you have a program called Adobe Camera Raw; so when you open a Raw, tif or jpeg picture with that program, you can touch something called "Fill light", that lets you (at the expense of some noise in your picture) lighten the shadows. It's quite effective :rocker:

@ servito - I've been stalking this drill for a couple of months, generally annoying the local dealer. Recently they had a stand at the working with wood show in Sydney. I was with my father and brother, all of a sudden a rush of blood to the head, a special deal and it was done. Got the full set with extra chucks etc

Managed to out tool both of them that day HA HA.:pimpflash

As you know with good tools they just feel right. The torque is amazing very delicate with the low settings (brass screws) and is elegantly brutal with long deck screws. Unlike physical clutches on my other drills this just stops at the correct setting with no fuss. I'm sure surgeons would use one of these.

Those Festools are praised everywhere, but I think they quite expensive for me right now, so I will continue with my Bosch ;)

Hey cosmik, don't flagelate yourself for your pictures, they are not crappy at all, some could be better, but in average they are good ;)

no, they're not "good", not even "sub-good", they're real crappy and being shot with a **** phone it's a miracle they're not turning worse! :D

tss-tss! Monte, don't you know where his car keys are? ;)

sure.... :D

damn those Schröder brothers! can't they call their respective companes something like Roschrö und Walschrö like every good reasonable german company??? no cookie for any of them!
non.gif

loooool :lol_hitti
i will mail them and suggest them your idea :D

only three and one is incomplete... :D
as for the bikes... twenty-something... but does it counts as one when frame and parts are strewn all around the house and garden? :D

that´s reasonable :) (the amount of bikes :D)
Socket sets are not enough ! :)D)
btw: only complete bikes count ! :)

Well boys I came across this post in January, and what can I say, it's awakened the beast!

The following pictures show what I've been up to since......

WOW very cool assortment of high quality tools !!!!:drool::drool: :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
nice !!!!!!!! What´s your adress again ?? :D

I don't have a car either(too expensive.)

:shocking: a american without car ?:headscrat
are you sure you are from the US ? :bounce:

I don't know Monte if they do its probably just screwdrivers with cross tips. :lol_hitti

that makes sense :D :lol_hitti

Do you also allow your tools to take to much of your spending money? :D I have the same problem...

...yeah....many tools.....no car....lol.....thats the outcome... :(:)

I had planned to get Hazet 610N for straight double box end wrenches, but now I bought these. They were a lot cheaper so...

noooooo... :D The Hazets are waiting for you in a store :D

nice bike tools

the funnies car forum
some posts are pretty good and interesting, but, sadly, most aren't... :(
even a good guy like Cantause suffered there...
since it's a generalist car enthusiast forum , the tools threads are lost in the crowd...
it's a bit like the HF threads here but they don't even pretend to know how to write in french or even to simply know how to write... :lol_hitti.

then there's the Facom nutcase's nuthouse... where you have to show "patte blanche": every post is moderated(read: censored if not in line with the Facom crazies line of thought :wtf:) with good articles but almost always twisted to demonstrate that Facom's tools are the best in the whole universe...:D
(they do sell nicely discounted Facom's tools to their "approved" members, of course!)

then there is the more specialized ones like those for machinists, welders, etc. where the communication to noise ratio stays pretty good. ;)

i don't go to most of those anymore except if in search of something specific like some info on french very specialized products... anyway, english language specialized forums seems to bring some of the most interesting posters from all over the world(but not all! :D).

don't read all the ramblings of a lunatic french binturong! look at the nice Beta combi and tubular wrenches instead:

Sounds interesting cosmik binturong. I wonder if an American who believes only Facom made in France and marked as such is good enough to use would be welcome there. :bounce:

Thanks for the tip!

I will search for this feature in the software I use. I do not use Photoshop since it does not run (natively) on Linux. Or perhaps ease up on unsharp mask. :)

BTW: the idea to re-write the good old UNIX operating system for PC-computers comes from Linus Torvalds and he is from Finland! If we consider operating system as a "tool" Linux is as much old world as you can get, at least for PC-arcitecture!? (Many years later Apple did similar thing and created Os-X)

Switch over boys! :lol_hitti

@cosmik binturong thanks for the info on Nepros adjustable wrench. :)
@TjoFrasse I keep my fingers crossed for Bauhaus, I think they will open, it is just a matter of time.
@Monte - nice Taiwan finish on this Black&Decker, you seem to like it! :D
@Bart - Impressive and still growing Hazet collection. :) I sometimes follow auctions for Hazet on ebay.de and droooooooooool.. and curse them for not shipping to Europe, or worldwide. I do not know if this link works or not: Link

regardless of where it's made, what it's made of or how, it's still "du Facom" so it cannot be anything less than perfect...

to their defense i might say that this one post was somewhat experimental: seeing if it was possible to properly torque lugnuts without a torque wrench... the angular method didn't pan out like they thought it was going to... but yes, you'rer right: they're basically nuts!

Alright. I hear so much about how these "parallel tip" screwdrivers made over there in the Eurozone are better than "normal" screwdrviers. And I still don't know what it means. Is it just for flat-head screwdrivers, with the opposing sides ground parallel to each other? Or can it be there with phillips too?

Blah. :lol_hitti

Trucky,

Only applies to flat-tip blades and how you described the profile is correct. PB Baumann/Swiss was, IFAIK, the first to come up with that, and it's their standard profile. But it's also available (or was available) from Wera and Witte/Stahlwille. Perhaps I'm missing other brands.

Cosmik,

Thanks for the interesting photos. I enjoy looking at them....except for the ones that are blurry. :D ...and nice selection of brands.

Cool, a set of Handy-Endy sockets! I'm wondering if the Handy-Endy was for export only; I've never heard it mentioned in Japan.

Cantause, yes, I was wondering about him. He hasn't been here in a looong time. Must be busy in school like you said. Hope he's alright.

Of all the major European tool brands discussed in this thread, I think USAG has the least amount of coverage. Are they just not widely available? USAG is/was a huge name in Formula 1. I think there once was a time when USAG was THE dominant choice for teams. Of course, Beta was another one.

no. The "swiss tips" were discontinued a while ago since nobody bought them. Except in switzerland but there everybody already buys PB Swiss tools.

There is only one distributor in Germany but they only sell to professionals it seems. Dunno about other european countries.

Of all the major European tool brands discussed in this thread, I think USAG has the least amount of coverage. Are they just not widely available? USAG is/was a huge name in Formula 1. I think there once was a time when USAG was THE dominant choice for teams. Of course, Beta was another one.

Beta was first in the F1 circuit then USAG spent the money to replace Beta on Ferrari, it cost them 1mil in 1983 to do that. The Beta sponsor stayed with smaller teams before fadeing away in F1. USAG stayed in F1 until Stanley bought Facom which already owned USAG and wanted Facom in F1 and USAG went back to only motorbikes and off road rally stuff. I haven't had a good USAG seller since Eurotool in Cal. stopped selling in the ninties. Stanley customer service in the US doesn't even know they own USAG just Facom.

how do you get by car to Australia??? he needs a boat man, it's an island! :headscrat

Well, in the same way that lots of Moroccan cross the Strait of Gibraltar, or from mainland Spain to Mallorca... but a little bit more expensive :eyecrazy:
(Mmm, didn't remember he is from Australia :p) Have you ever seen a Ship carrying some boats? Or a sky crane carrying a plane? So a ship carrying his car ;)

Btw, thanks for the lesson, I always thought that Australia was hanging from the Kamchatka Peninsula, and that it was not an island :lol_hitti

don't forget the other motorists have weapons too! and a car shot is, well, a car shot... :D
:D
but this don´t work always...and not forever :) .... everybody in the US has a gun i heard :D cowboys.... :D

Nahh, everyone carry a weapon in his/her car, but they are peaceful and nobody wants to be involved in a drive-by shooting ;)

Woooooow, you must be quite a good long distance swimmer, will I be able to see you at the Swimming World Championship this month?
