They work very well as far as the screw business goes. The jaw design makes them fit well around the screw head and there is very good bite with the right amount of pressure. They're only 160mm (ish) long so on one of the screws I tested I was left with a good handle imprint in my palm.

They have a smooth firm movement and absolutely no play whatsoever. Overall fit and finish is very good.

I can just about see on the tips that they have been used after the second screw where I had to be 'persuasive' but no more than what I would come to expect based on my use of Knipex pliers. I'll see over time how the wear rate is.

Certainly a tool that can make life easier on occasions and a worthy addition to the tool collection.

Thanks! Some more Japan tools for me then :)

that´s good so we can start a german forum soon :D ;)

you could improve it here: www.werkzeug-news.de or here: www.werkzeug-forum.de or here: www.werkzeugforum.de

Well, looking some there I got reminded that 4 years of German in school has taught me very little :) Perhaps it is time to work some more on it though...

soem more internet purchases :p

Nice stuff! And as stated by others, there is no one here that wouldn't like more pictures!

Hi everybody, you guys know me as the NWS guy from German-hand-tools but what you don't know is I am addicted to buying tools I can't help it I just keep buying them. Well here is some of my tools from the old world.

That is a amazing collection! The air tools and all the other stuff also. You should do a walkthrough video also!

My latest acquisitions then. Nothing really amazing:

Bahco 3/8 S-line set. Hadn't planned on getting it, but the price was right. Same as previously on the S-line, made in Taiwan but decent quality.
IMG_0913.jpg

Wera T20 Kraftform Comfort. Thought I should try the comfort handles, so this is the test one :)
IMG_0927.jpg

Facom automatic locking plier. Must say I'm not impressed. Sloppy and the automatic adjustment is hit and miss. These won't see much use, my other locking pliers feels much sturdier. And if the automatic adjustment can't be trusted it is not worth much...
IMG_0938.jpg

These are not mine, just two screwdrivers owned by another guy in the garage. I saw them and though "hey, I recognize those handles", then saw they were Sandvik branded.

It is actually a BGS one but it is identical to the HF one just different color handle

Good for the portable tool box where you want to cut down on weight.

Thanks for the link!
He speaks highly of the Hazet bit sockets. For years, they've already earned a position in Japan's industries as being the strongest and most durable money can buy.

Interesting...I have a few and haven't noticed any issues. It always locks sturdily, and repeatedly.
Have you played around with the tension screw at all?

Cool, looks like a re-branded Felo.

I have tried adjusting the screw. My experience so far after playing a bit with it is that adjustment have different effect on different clamp size. Smaller clamping sizes grips a bit earlier than larger objects. A good setting for empty clamp is too loose on a big object. A good setting for bigger stuff is way to tight on empty/small stuff. No super big issue, but the auto setting didn't impress me either. The slop in the jaws are a bigger concern though. The two jaws can move way to much sideways to each other. Not to the point where they don't meet, but over half the width. They did not meet the quality I expected.

Definitely Felo, my first thought when i saw them. Got really surprised when he said "No, they're Sandvik". :) Looked and saw they were marked "Germany".

soem more internet purchases :p

wow very nice collection of different tools

I recently acquired these Stahlwille Motor wrenches in Whitworth sizes, a nice little open end set to add to the collection. They are in sizes 9/16 W through 1/8 W.

Stahlwilliiiiiiiiiiiiii

Yeah, you're speaking sensibly...I don't need them.
I have a 10.8v Li-ion Makita 1/4" drill/driver and impact driver for smaller stuff and a 1/2" capacity Craftsman 18v NiCad (albeit with a broken variable speed switch).
I have a POS, corded Black and Decker circ. saw, but no jig saw (I've managed so far with the old fashinoned hand saw).

That´s a lot of china :D ;)
Time to upgrade :) ;)
Plunge saw, jig saw, router..... :) ;)
But i would go with corded, batteries will die one day. If you prefer japanese brands Makita for example makes their plunge saw and the jigsaw top of the line model in the UK. Don´t know about their routers. Hitachi routers are from Malaysia but don´t know about their circ. saw and jigsaw. I think the sticker din´t say anything which mostly means China.

I guess I was surprised that you decided to buy a Panasonic, considering all the different brands you have available there with seemingly superior quality. But you said you've always wanted a Panasonic and in combination with the discount, you just had to have it.
For the price/performance ratio, I think the Panasonic is still nice....and fits my budget better compared to Fein or Festool. :)

I own power tools from 15 different brands so it´s a mix of everything from green to blue, yellow, black, red etc...Panasonic was missing in this collection that was another reason. In 2013 Fein will release their new cordless drills "Made in Germany" with Li-Ion batteries then i will decide if i get the Fein a Festool or Protool cordless drill. So the Panasonic only has to last about 2 years (it probably will last longer :) ) because i now didn´t want to spend €510.- for a Festool drill when maybe in 2013 a better tool will be available. €199.- is enough for 2 years :) (and at €7.50 hourly wage expensive enough :) ) The Bosch 10,8 Volt tools are on my wish list too ....
..So the Panasonic fits my budget better too :)
ps: What makes me wonder is why Panasonic don´t offer their 7,2 Volt and 10,8 Volt tools outside of Japan ?

I don't doubt you at all about the innovative power tools that Fein and Festool produces. I've seen the photos here and they just drool of first rate quality.

In case of woodworking tools the most innovative tools and probably some of the highest quality tools come from Festool and Mafell if you look at the Festool cordless drills for example with the "Centrotec" system or the jigsaws from Festool or Mafell. Innovation and a cetain COO´s cost money unfortunately :) Luckily i can borrow my fathers AEG woodworking tools :D

interesting,i thing makita is not the best, but not make hobby tools, because have drills with plastic gears !!!

Dewalt,Milwaukee and other brands have drills with plastic gears, example "hammer" drill with plastic gear housing

http://www.basf.com/group/pressrelease/P-10-374

sorry for my bad english

Thanks for the link !!! Interesting !!! Plastic rotary hammer gear housing....very interesting....:headscrat

OK maybe plastic gears are ok but regarding the "hobby tools" please look at these 2 pics: (and the prices)

Back when I was in USAF CAP we had these blocks of magnesium used to start fires. You would shave some of it off with a pocket knife and use the flint to start a fire.

ok magnesium shavings, dust and chips....then you should buy power tools made entirely out of plastic ! Plastic chain saws !! Much safer !! :D

Yes I like it much better. :)
:lol_hitti
Then you´re the only one in the world :D

I've seen magnesium wheels burn up completely at drag races.

wrong magnesium alloy maybe :)

Hi everybody, you guys know me as the NWS guy from German-hand-tools but what you don't know is I am addicted to buying tools I can't help it I just keep buying them. Well here is some of my tools from the old world.

WOW that´s a great collection !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
more pics

My Bosch air tools all made in germany

cool !!! Do you have pics of the individual tools ??? :)

Some Festool

pics of the tools !!!! Systainers are nice but the tools are nicer :D

cool video !!

Well, looking some there I got reminded that 4 years of German in school has taught me very little :) Perhaps it is time to work some more on it though...

The forums are not that interesting. This forum (ok this thread...:D) is the best :D

Same as previously on the S-line, made in Taiwan but decent quality.

the regular Bahco tools will be made in Taiwan too in the future i think. I saw 1/4" adapters and extensions in a plastic bag with "Made in Taiwan" on the sticker but not the "S-Line" tools. Regular line tools. Someone in a german forum claimed that the factory in Argentina is closed.

Heres my "powder actuated tool." :D

Interesting ! What it do ?? :)

How do you like those super soft Felo handles? I've wondered about those...

I´m a big fan, first i like that the handles are "rubber" coated so they offer a good grip, when wet the incorporated flats still offer good torque transfer, additionally supported by the "squishy" handle (not "pillow squishy" but a "firm squishy" (?)) i think that the torque transfer is higher compared to "hard handles" with a still comfortable feeling if you press your hand together.
I´m looking toward to buy a complete set one day :)

Hmm they aren't as good as Bosch 1590EVSK(Swiss perfection.) :)

This forum (ok this thread...:D) is the best :D

I agree.
Interesting ! What it do ?? :)

Puts a 7.65 hole in stuff. Unfortunately only that size so I need to get one in 5.5mm, 6mm, 6.5mm, 7mm, 7.5mm French and Swiss, 7.92mm, 8mm, etc. :D

Monte,

Thanks for your input. I'm sure the Panasonic will serve you well for two years, but if you want to part away with it you know who wants one. :bounce:
I'll ponder about power tools again when I actually need to replace them. :D

For basic woodworking, I'd like to stick with hand tools as much as I can, doing it the old fashioned way. It's more fun and requires skill. :)

I recently bought this at my local Home Depot after it finally went on sale for only $10! Same thing is also offered by Hazet.

Made by NES with a COO of Israel.

That NES tool looks way cooler than fiddling with miniature files to repair threads. Gotta look for one of those.

Thanks! Sounds like I'll *have to* have a look at them... ;)

if you have the chance :)

Hmm they aren't as good as Bosch 1590EVSK(Swiss perfection.) :)

pls take a look at this saw:
http://www.festool.co.uk/Products/P...Pendulum-jigsaw-CARVEX-PS-400-EBQ-Set-GB-240V

and at the jigsaw brochure:
http://www.festool.co.uk/SiteCollec...al_multimedia_download/gb/p2010_carvex_gb.pdf

and compare it to the features of a Bosch jigsaw.

or simply watch this video and search for "Festool Carvex" on youtube

Why you don´t simply buy a Milwaukee hole shooter ? It´s cheaper and make holes in all sizes :D

Monte,
Thanks for your input. I'm sure the Panasonic will serve you well for two years, but if you want to part away with it you know who wants one. :bounce:

:D it will be my "borrow tool" when someone ask can you borrow me a cordless drill :) Now it´s the Makita 6270 i have because the batteries **** (always empty) the ergonomics too, it´s heavy etc....

For basic woodworking, I'd like to stick with hand tools as much as I can, doing it the old fashioned way. It's more fun and requires skill. :)

yeah about the skills you´re right, but if there is a power tool i would prefer that. We already have 2011 :D ;) To drill a hole with a power tool is also more fun than with a hand drill. :) At least in steel :D

I recently bought this at my local Home Depot after it finally went on sale for only $10! Same thing is also offered by Hazet.

Made by NES with a COO of Israel.

nice !!! And 10 bucks is much better than the Hazet price:)

Interesting it has an LED light. :) I could use that feature to bad its probably $400-500...

or take a look at these 2 videos:

Ok so they have a possibly better blade system than my Bosch but it still requires you to touch a blade after your done with it instead of ejecting it. Maybe I need to pick up the new Bosch jigsaw(which has improvements to see which I like best...) I do like that the case holds a box of blades which my Bosch case doesen't.

Bosch has a tracksystem and can use those blades(SDS.)

 I'm gonna demand a top spot in your will Monte.

ok i rewrite my will :D

Nice vid. I need to get a Kenny...COO? :)

i dunno i guess china. Couldn´t afford a german made Kenny :( :D

why on Japanese site this model is not on catalog???

i don´t know, maybe too new, or it´s not sold in Japan because the japanese customer demands quality and pays for it.

of course its not only makita, and other brands in this range make tools for individuals, not for industrial use !!!
and if compare all this brands, you can get more from makita with quality,performance,price...

There are good tools at a lower price from other companies like Bosch too. Most likely same quality for a same price too. But it´s a matter of taste:) I´m not a big fan of their color :)

Thanks for everyone's comments, I will post more pics and maybe a video soon, for now check out the new NWS 19 finish just got them in and will be updating the site by this weekend.

Thanks for the pics !!! Looks interesting !!!

I ordered a 160mm side cutter from a store here but not yet arrived :) Do it have the "ribs" in the head ?

Interesting it has an LED light. :) I could use that feature to bad its probably $400-500...

thats what quality and innovation from germany cost :D
but it´s only $350.-

http://www.bobmarinosbesttools.com/pendulum-jigsaws/c/1006/

But the price is ok, in germany it cost 362.-€ which is $500.-

Ok so they have a possibly better blade system than my Bosch but it still requires you to touch a blade after your done with it instead of ejecting it. Maybe I need to pick up the new Bosch jigsaw(which has improvements to see which I like best...) I do like that the case holds a box of blades which my Bosch case doesen't.

it´s more precise so it´s better :D

Bosch has a tracksystem and can use those blades(SDS.)

you can use the regular jigsaw blades with the Mafell saw too.

Not as much fun. :D ;)

you might be right :D

Yes Japanese quality is the best(better than European?) Mexico is similar to American except fit and finish can vary sometime, and China is generally the lowest in the world(everything I've got from there has a corner cut somewhere...) Even my Bosch charger has a smell to it when its on. :(

Nice deal. I wish more stuff was made in Japan the quality is so high there.

Welcome back. :) That drill is very heavy duty not like the polymer ones I see now.

I am agree:beer:
for me Japanese tools even better when looks at their "cosmetic" appearance:thumbup:
plus a detail and smooth built:rocker:

Yes! it tough.. enough to collapse a garages:thumbup:

welcome back :)

now thats acut off machine !! 415 volts !!:thumbup::bowdown::drool:

Yes 415 Volt 3 Phase!!
A standard 3 Phase power supply voltage for my country. But in my factory it have two 3 Phase power supply, 415 Volts and 200 Volt. A 200 Volts usually used for Japanese production machine:)

soem more internet purchases :p

I think there is 690 volts somewhere used for the military. "NATO" plu
gs" or something...

Wow that interesting yellow drivers! what your opinion compare to your Wurth/Zebra?

I like the Wurths a littler bit better because the handle is slimmer at the end where the striking cap is. Oh and it has a striking cap :)
i´ll make a comparison pic :D

ps: nice looking Hozan box !

As compensation for my imported cordless drill i bought a german made 5" angle grinder :D

@Bulit:

The 9050R Makita is a new model.

@Monte:

Can provide the best price you have to NWS, or at least the price you bought last pliers.
It may be easier to give me the address of the online store where you have the best price in Germany.

Thanks!!

PD: nice FLEX!

Ok folks, the broken plastic part of the rear bearing on my AEG WSA 1801 angle grinder is kaput and the consequense is that it falls out and all the balls gang up and make uncool noice.
My local hardware store may have a lead over the weekend but if any of you fine folks have a lead on the part in question please speak up.

Edit: To clarify, my local hardware store can set me up with an authorized service center. I'm just looking for more options in terms of price and availability. Official stuff tends to cost $$.

Monte,

I like that last video of yours. The variety/quantity of stuff you have is just :wtf: :shocking:

I'm sorta curious on what your garage buddies think of your collection. :)

North,

Good luck with sourcing a new bearing. :)

Ash,

Is the NWS 19 finish a more economy line? The handles appear to be cheaper to produce.

Nice Flex stuff, Monte!

Here is some stuff I got lately.

The sockets and ratchet I bought new. Still filling all sizes as my supplier gets them. I really like this 1/4 set and use it often. In the background is a 1/2 swivel joint for comparison. Also a Stahlwille that I requested from the pawn shop in excellent condition.

The Lindstrom precision tweezers I bought new.

The 5 Stahlwille circlip pliers I got from the my favorite pawnshop over the course of about 6 months.

I love Stahlwille tools!
