A screw-holding screwdriver from Athlet.. and the tips are parallel! I want one :( Time to save up I suppose. Why does everyone else have cool bottle openers except me? I really need to do some catching-up.

@ Monte, Dude that Tornador Gun is so badass! I was a detailer for several years, and my god that would have made things so much easier!

yeah that thing is nice especially for mats and carpets, removes dust, cleans seat tracks, dry things etc...

Also, how are the Gedor ratcheting wrenches? I'm really interested in buying some, but want your opinion first.
The finish is not as good as the taiwanese wrenches and the ratcheting is a bit rougher, like if you would compare a older Snap-On 936 series ratchet with a Dual 80 ratchet.

How interesting acquisition Monte, has a chance to repair?

Very nice ratchet! By the way, I just maintain my model, apply a few drops of Permatex Ultra Slick already been better than when I bought
i will try to repair it !
I think the ratchets get smoother the more often they´re used.

Made a new video what do you guys think
nice video :pimpflash

Finally I visited our summer cottage. I Found some tools
very nice antique tools !!

Wow, those seem awesome! Not that I do much interior work, but that seems great. Sure they require a big compressor though...
The Tornador Black needs a compressor which delivers 270 Liter/minute

Some gifts from my gedore dealer.

Nice bottle opener + screwholding drivers !

btw: the Gedore 4 R wrenches are about twice the price of a 7 R wrench. For example 12x13mm wrench = 24.75€ or 18x19mm = 29.80€ (2012 list price without tax)

Nice first post. I like unior, i love husaberg. Welcome.

And nice bottle opener of course.

Thanks! The Husaberg was the best old-world tool I've ever owned - beautifully put together and almost limitless fun:

11_FS650b.jpg

Now I have a KTM -also a brilliant old-world tool, but despite all the mods not quite as good as the (stock) Husaberg was IMO:

Welcome to the forum CanUK. Nice wordplay and cool Unior.

Welcome! Sure, this tool is must have when you're thirsty.

Thanks both.

I'll post the contents of my drawers (the old-world tools in my tool-box drawers, that is) when I get a chance to take some photos. It's a modest, but growing (much to the consternation of my Mrs) collection from which I take a disproportionate amount of pleasure and pride.

i like more unior with 13 mm wrench

I'm not sure whether that's specifically in response to my post, but if so; I agree that it may be nicer, and certainly more practical, but I believe it only comes with a KTM. In that case I'd still choose my opener along with the Husaberg

10mm & 12mm combination wrench weight comparison :willy_nil Asahi LCW vs Heyco 410 vs Stahlwille Open-Box 14 + Open-Box 13:D

Asahi LCW 10mm = 21 grams

Stahlwille 14 - 10mm = 43 grams

Heyco 410 - 10mm = 48 grams

Asahi LCW 12mm = 38 grams

Stahlwille 14 - 12mm = 63 grams

Heyco 410 - 12mm = 73 grams

..just weight comparison..

Thank you! I think I'll have to have a set... :D

Then i suppose is better for someone to buy the 7r. Unless he hasn't much space in his toolbox or he has a lot of open wrenches.

The finish is not as good as the taiwanese wrenches and the ratcheting is a bit rougher, like if you would compare a older Snap-On 936 series ratchet with a Dual 80 ratchet.

What do you mean about the finish. It's no as robust as it is in the Taiwanese or that it is not so glossy and silk?

Yes it is a bit rougher than the old one but with thicker oil they Become smoother. Also, as you noted, with the use they become even smoother. The no 10 7ur xs that i have used quite a lot are smoother than the first time. I have it under the seat of my motorbike and i use it very often as a mini ratchet. I don't believe that it will be as smooth as the taiwanese though.

Nice gun man. It's a pity that you sold it. But the new is just as good. What tools the KTM had when you got it? Beta hah? :)

Τhe majority of my order arrived today. Unfortunately there was a confusion with the same codes for the new and the older and I have not yet all that i ordered. More photos will follow. :)

yeah i think so too !

not as (almost) perfectly ground. At least my wrench has some grinding marks at the box end on the sides.

Maybe with a modified spring (shorter ?) or maybe remove the spring and store it compressed for a while it will make the wrench even smoother ?.....

One Belzer set for working and one set for your NOS Belzer collection :D ;)
Yeahh!! I'm tried to get NOS Germany Belzer Hex driver set:bounce:
I don´t know how much you paid but they don´t make these sets anymore :) ;)
maybe it quite expensive for someone, but for me it worth as you said "they don´t make these sets anymore" I paid MYR140.00 @ Euro35.00 for 12pcs interchangeable blade nut driver set + handle + extension with pouch and I have to pay MYR120.00 @ Euro 30.00 tomorrow:bounce: to get 11pcs hex driver set with pouch for the next

yes Supercraft (40mm) !!! You have a well trained tool eye ;)
:eyecrazy: ;)
If you´re looking for german made ratcheting wrenches i can recommend Gedore :D
Yes! I'm looking for German made ratcheting wrenches but not now maybe in the future:D
thanks for advise.

just hobby, 1984 Cadillac from a buddy
Woww!! great hobby:thumbup:

Thanks for these nice comparison pics !!
Do you feel a big difference in your hand when you hold the Asahi wrench and then the Stahlwille for example ?
You are welcome!
Not too much for smaller size wrenches..honestly for comfort I go to Stahlwille:thumbup:

"Tornador Classic" cleaning gun
Nice cleaning equipment! very good video:thumbup:

my contribution. some pictures from some maintenance on the excavator
Nice..the most beautiful comb. wrenches I think :drool:
Thanks for the pics
can we have more pics from your tools drawer:D:D

My Swedish MTP voltage tester (by Sagab):
Works great :)
Nice tools to detect" live" cable inside concrete

Nice tools! great promotion video :D

Finally I visited our summer cottage. I Found some tools
Awesome
thank for posting :)

Ow man, you are so lucky!
Thanks for the pics Mr.
:D You are welcome!

I want some for under the seat of my motorcycle. Very hard to find them here in Greece.
It very suitable to used as motorcycle tools kits
I'm planning to use it as motorcycle kits too, but I need to add several size to complete a set.
I know it hard to find Japan tools supplier..even in Asia, maybe you should buy online.

Very cool comparison! I must say (with my limited construction engineering knowledge) that I think they're much weaker than a regular wrench. Just consider the strength difference between an I-beam and two flat irons...
Sturdier frame, better frame handle ("ergo" classed) and a different blade release. Screw type on the 319, lever on the 325.
Nice hacksaw:drool:
both from Sweden?

Some time ago i posted pictures of some of my bosch air tools and exact tools, I was asked to post some closeup picture, so finally got around to taking them.
Nice video thanks to share :)

Thank you! I think I'll have to have a set... :D

  prices for 7UR please?
you mean same item no. for old and new series?

Yes that's right.
I ordered through my dealer the new 7ur and came half new and half old ones. My dealer kept the old 7ur and reorder the size that didn't came. The second time the no 10 was missing from the order. Probably the main importer has a huge stock from the old and must order it from Germany.

Same part no for both. The old one.

Comparison with some old 7ur. There are some very good comparison photos and review from Monte somewhere in this thread though.

The old doesn't belong to me. I don't know how much used (or abused) it is. The non protected selector maybe is an issue. Or maybe someone try to open it. I don't know.

Nice pics lok. I agree with you on the grind marks. It's Gedore beauty.

A set of 12 7-UR wrenches, 8-19mm in a metal case, will cost NOK1995 here, including tax. That's around €265. Not a bad price for German made quality.

The ratchet is really new because it is not used. It made around 70's and its the first mass made ratchet in Russiq. I dont now nothing about the teeth but it is too hard to work with it and i dont use this tool. I both this russian complect because the stones (i'm not sure that is the right word?).

I have not posted for a long while. I have been busy using my tools :) and pursuing a new hobby (bicycles). I got some bike repair tools. Bike tools are dominated by Park Tool (at least in the USA). I wanted something different and bought some Shimano, Tacx, and Gedore. The Tacx tools have a nice handle, but are stamped steel (like Park Tool). Tacx are made in Holland. Gedore tools are all forged and German made, the superior quality is evident. I will keep the Gedore tools and return the rest. The SKS pump is also German made and the best pump I have used.

Cool. Thanks for that. Been a long time since I really practised my german language skills but I get the gist of it.

Lol ok but i don't know how to take off the spring from the reversible. The selector is pinned, (i guess) to the.. hmmm internal - direction selector (is that corect? At least do you understand what i mean?)

I opened one of them to put grease. On this occasion I took some photos. so..

To take off this...

Ok I'll try it with the non reversible. :lol_hitti

That are good prices ! In germany the list price for the wrenches is about 20% higher !

Noooooo.. How is that possible?
Are you sure? The prices that i posted are without tax. This shop have better price with tax.

yeah industrial look is ok, but nicely ground is good too :D

I agree with you but small imperfections don't bother me because part of the production is by hand and not full automated. when all the pieces are not perfect themselves this makes each piece unique. When there are such differences to different part of a product this complement the industrial look and make it (perfect?). ;) :pimpflash

cool never saw one of those !

I have a few of them. 10,12,17,19. A friend gave me because he had also the newer ones (not the made in germany). He also gave me the broken No17.

Some day the open end might be useful to me.

one of the older Gedore wrenches from one of the garage buddies, used in a semi-professional/hobby environment:

under the phosphate finish the ring seems to be plated.

Doesn't this apply to all?

The phosphate and some of the plating is worn on some spots:

The phosphate is worn, ok this is typical, i guess. The plating should had greater resistance, right?

some pinches in the open end

That happens when you exercise great pressure at angle or excessive force for the open end. It's not a fault right?

LevelChrome?

I will pay extra taxes to the customs office. Εhhmmm extra duty for product from countries that haven't Euro.

Very good prices for this quality made wrenches
Thanks!

The gedore have very good representation in my country.
My pleasure to help.

btw: Thanks you very much for the very good comparison pics + explanation for old & new 7UR...now I'm understand what the difference between old & new 7ur series:thumbup:

You welcome mrtools.

Come on Hazet. Post some new hazet tools. ;)

The gedore tools for bicycles must be very good but if you want wider range you can take a look at the unior tools.

The SKS pump is also German made and the best pump I have used.
is there a "Made in Holland" on the tool or package ? The website has this "Dutch Design" slogans all over....... "Design" or "Made".... ?

Thanks !

i think they are already smoother ?

yeah the prices increased a lot in 2012
the 7R-012 set for example was 179,10 in 2011 and is now 198.-€ + tax.
The TBS prices are very very good though.
Especially this:

for me it´s not a problem either, i only wanted to warn the (american) consumer that they might get something different than they expected so they are not sad or disappointed. Because tools in america are usually perfectly finished it seems (except Craftsman maybe :)) whether they are from the US or Taiwan, so the customer expects a flawless finish or the quality is not good in their opinion and they don´t like it.

interesting, seems to be from a different manufacturer since the jaw design is different , the ring looks different etc.
Doesn't this apply to all?

yes i think so
That happens when you exercise great pressure at angle or excessive force for the open end. It's not a fault right?
i dunno....the wrench should be stronger than any screw.... ?

i think yes

Ok, so when i have time i' will try with the non reversible which are less complicated. :D

:)
i think they are already smoother ?

I haven't done anything yet.
If you mean that they are smoother than the reversible i don' t think that they are. At least i don't see any different. The smoothest are the most used until now.

So i presume that the prices will increase and here as well. Carolus increase his price around 20% in 2012.

ahh.. yes you are right.

interesting, seems to be from a different manufacturer since the jaw design is different , the ring looks different etc.

Yes probably.

i think the new ones only have a phosphate finish ?

Yes right. According to catalog the tempering is followed by the screw insert being manganese-phosphate.

i dunno....the wrench should be stronger than any screw.... ?

Ahh.. how i forget it.

Any members in the USA order from the US version of the Gedore website? I was trying to order an item that is available from the German website but doesn't come up on the US website. It is the 1/4 " ratcheting bit screwdriver # 674/ code # 6530710. I have never liked the SO version and don't like storing the bits in the handle. Also are the tools shipped from Germany or their warehouse in South Carolina.I like to ship UPS and it defaulted to FedEx every time.I have always bought Gedore from Epsteins or some other source.
