Yes Monte, Bruder Mannesmann is available in Spain through a representative.

Before, you could only make purchases directly to Germany by the representative, but recently you can buy some products to a Spanish company.

I have placed an order directly to Germany Bruder Mannesmann I come in a few days, and I will put photos.

Monte, What do you think about tools Mannesmann green line?

@Bhae:
What did you buy from Mannesmann ?
there are a couple of Brüder Mannesmann tools on Ebay.es i saw. I don`t know about Mannesmann. German name - import tools. I only saw some pliers here, but I`m a little bit concerned with the quality when you can buy 18 screwdrivers for 9.- € or a socket set with 120 tools for 80.-, below 1.- ea. tool....So I`m personally not a big fan. If I would be in spain i probably would buy Acesa or Palmera etc. There is also a import line of tools from Irimo and Palmera like this from Taiwan: click
Maybe i would buy this as a lower price alternative. (ok Mannesmann still has better prices....)

@Monte:

I have a supply store and I have asked "215 parts kits" and various tools to Mannesmann.
Also buy a Palmera, Irimo, Acesa ...
But the idea in the store is selling both quality tools as tools
bricolage type. It will not be so in future online shop I have intention to open, it will be selling only high quality professional tool.
The price of the briefcase PALMERA is below the purchase price of any store, is a really good price.
Departing also reflected in the promotion of IRIMO auto2010.

*You need to score 16% VAT

The same kit in ACESA price rate: 142.62+VAT

I know Bruder Mannesmann and I can say (also all other techs), these tools are junk!!!
Most time rusty, will brake immediatly, no proper fit, heavy weight....

Must work with them, broke every socket, ratchet, bit and extension in some days!!!

Yes, something I do not like when I brought the old order tools Mannesmann was the theme of the oxidation mainly.

It is not professional tools, and many people do not need anything professional because they will tighten 3 screws per year. There are people in Spain to sell Mannesmann as if professional tool made in Germany, where it is not.
It is inexpensive tool for little use.

Hello toolmates, let' see some good facom stuff since I bought a set of circlip pliers with interchangeable tips

Photo1 shows my father's set
Photo2 shows the same set (rectangular box design from 1973 to 1986)
Photo3 and 4 show my newer model (1987 to 1996)
Photo5 shows the amazing sharpness of the interchangeable tips versus the solid machined ones (also consider that a pair of tips costs 3€)
Photo6 hmmmm not the best idea they have had; plastic hinges.....
Photo7 ...... but the plastic latch is far better.

@hazet

is that a serious opinion???

Mannesmann no way NEVER!

Broke a waterpump plier
Broke a 1/2 Ratchet
broke all bits
broke screwdrivers
hurt myself
found some electric insulated screwdrivers with holes in the insulation...

Hey folks...work with your tools before you post ********!
can bent a 19mm wrench with my hands...those tools are forbidden in germany...

Mannesmann tools are normally found in a supermarket on a bagain table near shampoo and frozen trans fat bombs.

Mannesmann is not german made,,....cheap china ****!

@Hawk321:

Mannesmann bring to the store because not everyone can afford the money that is worth a professional tool. People also demand inexpensive tool, especially the people who get little use, and wants to have it at home if something comes up.
Within what it meets all regulations, but it is what it is, a tool made in China.

As I said I have a physical store, and I have to offer both professional tool as an economic tool. If I could only bring high-end professional tool, but the people demand it and must be given the chance.

As I said also, in future online store will sell only professional tool (SNA group, felo, KNIPEX, toptul, STAHLWILLE, Bondhus, WERA, IREGA, ko-ken, etc.etc.)

I decided a while back to only buy the best tools I could afford. Notice that I only use Hazet and Gedore (with the ocassional Stahlwille and Snap On). In the end, cheap products always end up costing more.

wow thats a lot of stuff !!!!! So you already have a store/shop ? Do you have a homepage ?? Show some more pics of your store ! :) outside + inside :drool:

@dlfiene:
nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Festo tool is for cutting plastic/pvc pipe for air applications. Do you have a pic of the "head" of the Belzer pliers ?? :)

@crustyD3mon:
The similar imported taiwanese Bahco ratchets and sockets are sold as "S-Line" which starts at about 30 euro a set. The higher priced sets/ratchets from Bahco are from argentina, the higher priced ratchets from Palmera etc. are made in Spain AFAIK (at least i saw a "Acesa" "712S" ratchet made in spain at a store here). So i think the cheaper imported line is for DIY use and the others for professional use. I only used my Bahco socket set about 3 times or so, it works, the connection between ratchet + socket is kind of sloppy though (1/4" square drive on sockets too big i think). So i cant say much, but i only paid 25 euro for this set at a fair and its worth the money:

Question, how are Stahlwille, Hazet and Gedore pronounced?

I never see them here in the U.S.

Gedore USA: www.gedoreklann.com
Hazet USA: www.aetools.com www.asttool.com
Stahlwille USA: www.stahlwilleaerospace.com n/a /down

couldn`t find anything for Stahlwille but Gedore in english is here:

The cutter is used for cutting plastic tubing with outside diameters of up to 20 mm. It is not suitable for tubing with metal casing. It also has an integrated safety catch to prevent inadvertent opening.

Ask a ******** feminist :lol_hitti

@Bhae

If your customer wants a cheap tool...go with toptul or similar...even my old grandma knows that. She bought 40 years ago some Athlet screwdrivers, Knipex pliers and some c.walter wrenches for her home....still in great condition.

Those Mannesmann old style ratchening wrenches will explode when they fall down!!!

@hazet

True words, for me... I would go with GEDORE. But they are here to expensive, sometime 50% more as Snap-on...(local shop)....

Snap-on, Hazet, Gedore and sometime Stahlwille (not so innovative like the others).

Own some Gedore pliers (circlip, waterpump), lil wrenches, flare nut, torque wrench, 3/8 ratchet....PERFECT.

A little OT as it was mentioned a few (or more than a few) pages back, but I need a BFD. I think the Peddinghaus 2000g hammer would be perfect. I'm finding very few in the US, except for one blacksmith shop on line which has some.

I think each of those companies have their strengths. Stahlwille makes great tools. Their torque ratchets are probably the best around. Hazet makes awesome fine tooth ratchets, their wrenches are very good, and their sockets are top quality. IMHO Gedore makes better pliers than either Hazet or Stahlwille. Snap-on has a wide selection and is easy to purchase in the USA. Ebay can be your best friend when buying Snap-on.

the local tool shop here has horrible prices...so he can give you a discount of 10%...anyway...a 22mm wrench costs still 25 Euro... no way.

I'm to lazy to buy Gedore over the inet....than...gedore cost 2/3 less than snap-on...and stahlwille...nice tools, but not innovative. A long 3/8 flex head ratchet like snap-on has or hazet threadmate is innovative. Stahlwille sells for years all the same tools.

@Hawk:
Most innovations are from Taiwan or somebody else anyway whether its the ratcheting wrenches from Taiwan or thread repair tools from Israel, the Hazet air + electric tools from Taiwan the thread inserts from Völkel, jacks from asia etc. etc.

Stahlwille on the other hand has most of their program "made in germany" . NO forged ratcheting wrenches (only the laminated USA wrenches) no fancy other stuff ...just "made in germany" .... i like that . ..the last company where almost everything is made here.... Also why you should change the design of the wrenches , ratchets etc. ?? The wrench design is around since about 50 years, thats cool. OG old school wrenches still can be bought brand new.... same design in 50 years... if you lost a wrench in 1960 you can still buy it brand new in 2010 , now thats cool !! ! i like that .
Perfection don`t need to be changed :) Also the ratchets are around for a while, now with green/black handle , before with black textured handles, before with round glossy black handle, before....... Ratchet itself seems to be the same over the years. Why change a good thing/tool/design.... you only need that to sell more, like cars ... Hopefully they dont change anything. btw: i like the flex head Wille ratchets. Fell in love @ the Hardware fair. They sell a lot of them to Scandinavia he said :) , because i wondered who buys them because of the lack of a "design" :) :D ;)

My favorite tools are old tools, pliers from Belzer + Hazet, the old triangular black glossy Hazet and red Belzer screwdrivers, Stahlwille wrenches, Wezag 7" locking pliers in glossy nickel plating etc. etc. the older a tool the better. (OK not always better to work with , but better to look at :D :) old design is really cool ) (also better is a old tool in new condition "NOS") Thats why i also love "Duss" hammer drills and older "Suhner" electric tools or "Fein" drills etc. because they look like they are from 1960 but are made in 2010. my **** :D ;)

ps:
Gedore 2009 list price:
22 mm combination wrench "1B" 15,46€
22 mm combination wrench "7" 12,05€
22 mm combination wrench "7 XL" 16,67€

Does anyone know what kind of quality globemaster west germany tools were considered. It seems they feel and look somewhat cheaply built, but coming from west germany I would think they would be good quality.

A Snap-on 22mm is $47 here in the U.S. That explains why there is such a market for them on eBay. A set of 10-19mm has a list price of $280 but the eBay price is typically one-half of that. You might try checking to see if people will ship from the U.S. to you. I have purchased items from eBay England, eBay Netherlands, and eBay Italy.

Ebay its a good way to buy snap on...but its not easy find deals with shippment to Europe...and when we found something....the shipping costs are with incredible high prices....most of them unreal....

I'm trying to found on ebay a small portable craftsman metal toolbox, with 2 or 3 drawers...but i'm checking since about 2 months...and see nothing reliable to Portugal....

@dlfiene:
thanks for the Belzer pics ! They look really nice !! Looks almost new.

"Globemaster" sounds american, i guess rebadged like your Felo AT&G screwdrivers.
There is/was a "Globemaster Inc.". The trade mark was issued for several things also screwdrivers, pliers, hammers etc. But the trademark expired.
Trademark search: click

There is no "Globemaster" in the EU

@MarcSeattle:
the Felo screwdrivers are clear coated, so as long as the paint is on they should be easy to clean.

Unfortunately at the flea markets here you can´t really find exotic tools like Snap-on...
