Here is what I won from KC Tools, I Love all the pieces, in fact I was contemplating purchasing a few of the items I won but..... I got lucky!
Thanks KC Tools for putting on the contest and making it happen https://kctoolco.files.wordpress.com...sweraprize.jpg

Qualitytools,

Is the KC Tools' prize you won from the ToolGuyd "Up to $75 in Free Tools" giveaway?

Would you mind posting a picture of the prize you won?

When I click on the link, I get a server error.

Thanks,

Dave

Yes I will try and post a better link. However, to answer your question no! It was over $400 it included a metric and SAE Joker ratchet wrench set by Wera, a set of Kraftform Plus screwdrivers, a Wera Bottle opener, a Wera 1/4 drive bit set with sockets, ratchet and small driver.

Waaw, seems like a great prize! Link doesn't work here either.

too expensive and too much fuel consumption :D
Bought it straight from the army for €20:thumbup:
I do really love those feuerhands too (as well as the dietz lanterns)! Any idea about the fuel consumption on yours? The petromax goes for about 9 hours on 1l of the cheapest kerosine.

I happen to be at a Sears Store and these just called out to me begging to belong to my toolbox :) Of course when I got home I realized that I purchased 2 of the slotted screw drivers made in Japan so going to exchange one for a Philips.

ok thats a good price :) The Feuerhand lanterns start at 14.- Euro (brand new...)... :)
I don´t know, i like the Feuerhand the best :) it´s a classic like a Zippo, a Maglite or a Victorinox swiss army knife.... :)
The instruction manual says max. 20 hours (340 ml tank capacity)

Love that mixed brand wrench set, my sae set is like that, mostly bought used and made up of good English, German and a few USA ones.

I built my own mixed brand set out of necessity, but I've really grown to appreciate it much more than if I Had walked onto a truck and plunked down a wad of cash for an entire set all at once. My tools have grown with me and since it wasn't uncommon for me aquire a single tool at a time, I really got attached and am still attached to my tools.

Just recieved a stahlwille adaptor 4451/1 from amazon.com, no COO information. I can't understand why there is a 'EW' label but no 'stahlwille' label on it:headscrat.

I just read a youtube comment that says knipex pliers are only assembled in germany, that they are made in poland and a new factory in Estonia. This would be very disappointing if true. I hope the germans aren't adopting the american business plan where they build a reputation then take advantage of it and their customers.

According to their website:

http://www.knipex.com/en/the-company/we-are-knipex/

<<
Made in Wuppertal, Germany.
We produce exclusively in Germany - with ecological and social sustainability.

The entire value-adding work is done by our employees in our Wuppertal factory - from forging the plier blanks to packaging.

We secure our technical advance by developing and building a lot of our machines and plants ourselves.

>>

Now the 'entire value-adding work' is interesting. That definitely leaves room for aspects of the manufacturing to be made in places other than the Knipex factory. Some items being outsourced I have heard of before, for example to another factory in Wuppertal.

some of their pliers ( and I have 67 Knipex tools) are labelled with 'Made in Germany' , and some with just 'Germany'; examples from the website. But it does sound like marketing and legals schpeak covering their butts to me.

Myself, I prefer explicit rather than implicit in such matters. So Made in Germany imbues more confidence.

Knipex owns other companys as well eg- Rennsteig which make the cable cutters and stuff like this. In this case Knipex just supplies the handles. But Rennsteig is as well top notch quality so no worries.
