Happy new year 2016 !!!

price/performance is great ! Can´t go wrong with Rennsteig punches + chisels ! The cutting edge of the PB chisels might be a bit harder but for the price of the Rennsteigs they can´t be beat.

That is rennsteigs company

Hi Ash,

Quick question: What do you mean with "Rennsteigs company"? Does it mean the two are related? What I find on the Internet is that Tauron is apparently a retailer/wholesaler and happens to sell some Rennsteig products, and that's all. Please accept my apologies if I got something wrong here. Their webpage is severely underdeveloped (http://www.mytauron.com/index.html). Their facebook page provides some information, but when you go to "Shop", they only have one product listed (https://www.facebook.com/Tauron.Get.connected/shop?ref=page_internal&rid=337342886304202&rt=9). They seem to rely quite a bit on Amazon. I have bought from them one time (two Rennsteig Grip pliers at a very good price), and no problems. But I have to say that I prefer to buy from sellers like yourself and some others who offer much more choice and customer service.

The interesting thing is indeed who is the OEM for the Tauron pliers on Amazon in the original link above? My first guess for rebranded pliers is always Orbis because they are the "prostitures" of pliers (what I mean here is that they are very open to rebranding and even advertise that in the first pages of their catalog), but based on their shape I don't think these are Orbis.

Cheers

I had a look on eBay and amazon. Very cheap clamps... is their COO germany? The price seemed way too cheap to not be china..

I could not find any COO on their german website but all clamps I saw in the shops around are marked Germany. But so far I only saw their i beam type c clamps. All F style ones They I own are marked made in Germany or Germany.

The website says that their main production is in Germany (BW)

Mytauron is rennsteig USA, its there set up to sell tools directly themselves. The pliers are made either by knipex, rennsteig, or orbis and branded for tauron. All those companies are basically the same company also including witte.

Santa visited last night to ensure I accurately torque my fasteners. :D

1/2" with 60-340Nm range:

3/8" with 8-60Nm range:

What did Santa bring you, GJ people?

I Love Norbar, recently discovered them about a year or so as I searched and purchased a couple of their torque wrenches. Very Nice :)

If you were a U.S. citizen, I bet you could beat Trump and Clinton for the presidency on the independent card based on those 2 qualifications! :D

The Bosch color is a special mixture. It seems the L-Boxxes also have a different color than the tools for example. The best maybe would be to go to a car parts store who sells paint, the good ones should have a scan tool which can scan the paint of your car (or tool...) so they can mix the paint.

impressive stand there!
thanks :)

Thanks :) I don´t think it is neccessary to use these feet for a simple bench grinder because it runs smooth (with good discs) but the surface of my garage is uneven so i can level it and so the stand don´t wobble. I also wanted a professional and different look/design :) Usually you see these feet on larger drill presses, lathes, milling machines etc. so the vibration of the machine don´t transfer into other machines and vice versa.

Love the slightly overengineered grinder stand! :)

Anyone knows who makes the powertools for Wurth, or do they source them from different manufacturers?

Like this one:
yeah that one is from Bosch. But they also buy from Metabo, Milwaukee, Suhner, Dewalt, Fein, Kress, Flex and Collomix.
The 10,8 and 18 volt tools are from Bosch and the 28 volt tools from Milwaukee for example.

Some wiha pliers and one knipex pliers from amazon, a 3/8 blue point sliding t-bar from ebay

Inviato dal mio HUAWEI GRA-L09 utilizzando Tapatalk

Very nice, thanks for sharing the pics. This got me to the following question: Does someone by coincidence know where (preferably in the US) to get Wiha pliers made in Switzerland (I think this was their last European COO before moving production to Vietnam)? Sadly, these should be all NOS by now...
