That's really good to know! Frankly, I strongly dislike the ones from that Italian company, I wish I could remember the name it starts with a P I think. They aren't as bad as the USA made Xuron cutters that I had but they are very so so.

Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk

ok, I may have been wrong, I remember there was some Made in Germany on the package or the cutters but I see no evidence of it now and Wiha site says nothing about coo .. so it may be Italy .

They are ok cutters , I saw the retail prices on the UK site, I would buy Knipex at those prices and never look back.

The knipex is about 6-7 years old , he's purpose was cutting stainless steel Tig filler rod , and the jaws are a tiny bit damaged but still does a good job.

The wihas never been abused but not babied either, they are so clean for the pictures :)

Hi guys,
I am currently searching for diagonal cutters for electric use.
Forged (expensive) or stamped (cheap) ?

I bought this one a while ago:
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B002DJS6MU/
It was cheap and it works. :) (dunno for how long though :)) I have the identical one branded as "Cimco" too. If I would use these tools often i guess i would take forged ones. Knipex should be easy to get in DE. Schmitz on the other hand offer good prices...Lindström: I only have one pair of needle nose pliers but i´m not impressed.... Erem: quite expensive....
Thanks Monte next month, after I will pick up the salary I have to take this set GEDORE Ring-Maulschlüssel-Satz, extra lang, 8-22 mm, 7 XL-0111

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B002DJS6MU/

 :rocker:
:pimpflash
nah, I have 2 wiha diagonal cutters, it said Made in Germany on both of them, they are very nice quality comparable with knipex at half the price (discounted)

the only thing is they have a tiny bit more drag than the knipex , nothing annoying but there is some friction where in the knipex seems to be almost 0
The older Wiha mechanics type pliers where made by Orbis in Germany afaik. The newer mechanics type pliers are from Vietnam (They bought a pliers factory from a vietnamese steel manufacturer). The forged electronics pliers are still from Germany. The stamped electronics pliers are made in Italy if this info is right:
http://www.kctoolco.com/wiha-electronic-diagonal-cutters-full-flush-p/56818.htm
THATS IT! I would say there are at least half a dozen companies that rebadge those cutters.
I spent like 30min trying to find the name. Google kept insisting I was trying to search for pecorino and a dozen other things.
Why do you need Google when there is Garage Journal :D ;)

The Wiha pliers from your pics are made in Vietnam.

Stahlwille Stabil 20 Made in Germany

I received them yesterday and I can say that broaching of this wrench are perfect and faultless. They are very lightweight.Tolerance is impressive, the wrench nr.10 measured 10.08mm,the nr 13 measured 13.10mm,the nr 19 measured 19.16mm.I own Hazet 630 Germany,IUS Romania,USAG 285 (same as Facom 440) Taiwan (and Beta 42 at work very low quality probably made in china -asia) and nothing compare with Stahlville.I just want to give some examples of tolerance
Stahlville 19mm wrench measured with caliper 19.14mm-19.16mm
IUS 19mm wrench measured 19.32mm-19.34mm
Usag 285 19mm wrench measured 19.22mm-19.24mm
Hazet 630 19mm wrench measured 19.24mm-19-26
Beta 42 19mm measured19.38-19.40(at work i dont know how old is)
Elora 205(made in w-germany) 13mm wrench measured 13.08mm-13.10mm after more than 26 years.
This means to be Made in Germany.:rocker::rocker:

Which do you prefer? And why?
Knipex, Erem, Lindström? Are Lindströms still made in Sweden?
My favorites are:
*Tronex (US made, so probably horribly expensive in Germany; extremely well made, comfortable, and the blades cut like a hot knife through butter)
*Swanstrom (see above; very similar construction & quality to Tronex)
*Erem (foam grips, not the ergosense grips)
*Schmitz (this would be your best bet given you're in Germany; the quality is amazing, and the prices make it the best value too; these get rebranded a LOT).

Lindstrom is now made in Spain, and it's not the quality they used to be.

Facom 8x175 the machining of tip blade are very very poor ,on one side tip measure with caliper 1,12mm on other side of tip measure 1,18mm-this never happened with Wiha or Pb Swiss

Are you still using your flared screwdriver for tightening screws ?
In this case I can understand your disappointment , but I see less and less this kind of screws

After 20 screwing of this slotted/pozidriv screw(i know slotted of this screw is recommended only for removal) Facom driver show great signs of wear, thing that never happened with my wiha or pb swiss even with cheap chinese driver.Pb swiss PZ2 after more than 50 screw it is like new no sign of wear

So the tip dimension has probably less impact than the tip hardness in that specific case of wear you are describing . I think
This would be interesting to have the picture of the tip for both wiha and Pb vs Facom to evaluate
Facom are life time warranted so you can ask a replacement and their after sales will probably analyse your screwdriver

The worn FACOM screwdriver has already been sent back for refund

Few days ago i purchased some goodies from a well known toolshop in Germany.

Bosch Demolition Hammer SDS-Max GSH 11 VC Professional

Bosch hammer drill GBH2400

I paid for both of them. I mentioned that because i know that there is a gift promotion for all Bosch demolition Hammers bought from Germany (and other countries).
For Bosch Germany there is a gift with the purshace of a GSH 11 VC. The gift is a GBH 2400. My problem is that i can't find the pdf promotion. It was here but now there isn't anymore. The promotion ends September 30th. I called Bosch Germany and they told me that if i can find that pdf, it is possible to send a GBH 2400 as a gift. I need to proove that promotion exists ( i know, Bosch shouldn't need a proof, must know it first of all).
Did anyone happen to save that pdf, or know the link of the promotion?

Hi all,

I've just received my PB Swiss screwdrivers and surprised to find two different types of tip on my precision screwdrivers as I was expecting to see all PB Swiss slotted ones with parallel tip. Anyone would like to shed some light why PB128 has different tip? And which is better?

PB128 (left) vs PB120 (right)

@T45 & hautpot

Thanks for the clarifications. I wasn't aware the PB128 has cabinet style tip when I placed my order because the photo where I ordered my drivers was too small to see the different tip. No biggie anyway

I have another question if you mind? How come these drivers has the same # yet they have different tip size?

Pair on the left: phillips #2
Pair on the middle: phillips #1
Pair on the right: slotted #3

Edit: forgot to mention they are not the same model. Its swiss grip vs. swiss grip one-piece blade w/ bolster nut

For a specific Phillips size driver the tip geometry of the first few mm is the same though the rest of the screwdriver varies greatly. It's really only the first few mm of the tip that engage the screw head anyway.

Slotted may be a different story though I am sure PB Swiss drivers will work flawlessly for you even though there are differences in the tip geometries.
