Does that light say made in China?
I avoid anything from Hazet that isnt hardline mechanics stuff or rebranded from another Euro tool maker, they do have their fair share of cheap tat in hazet blue for a high price, sadly.

250W is a bit low for a jig saw, my Makita is 720W, that hole is for vacuum dust extraction, but it gets the job done just slower which is fine for occasional use.

The HAZET I think had no coo on the package and certainly not on the light. I believe is either Taiwan or China.

I have only used the jigsaw three times in a year. I have been given a circular saw if I need to make many cuts, no photos in hand.

I am now thinking to buy the Metabo STA 18 LTX 140 cordless for any cut while off the grid but not sure if I need one[emoji6].

Looks like it says Made in China under the CE Mark logo?

I would definitely be contacting Hazet about the lack of quality on that light.

I've noticed the same over the past couple of years.
Those VW "Scene" people obviously don't care and are just interested in the colour scheme (tongue in cheek generalisation!!).

It's a bit of shame, since the socketry I have and have used (all recently manufactured) is very good quality and as you would expect, but I suppose that's business and indicative of the times.

I have two coupons from Festool valid for purchases in UK dealer ONLY.

Not sure if I can post images but it is one for £50 off a set of the cordless HKC 55 saw and £100 off plan ex and CTM dust extractor combo.

If anyone is interested in these, pm address and I will send them out.

Oh wth, I had made my mind on this one. I saw it in an event and liked the way it handles and work. I even have the impression it was made in Germany, maybe they have two versions? Do I have any other option?

I will try and send an email to HAZET and see how it goes.

May be not the best example. A former developer from Z+G told me, chain saw oil is the last step in the downgrading chain. That's not only true for Z+G but almost any oil maker. You could also use any oil of sufficient viscosity for that purpose.
Maybe i´ll use used car engine oil now :D Ships might use something worser though :)
They´re made in switzerland.
Maybe the Wiha are made by PBSWISS in Switzerland[emoji4] ?
Then they´re made by Halder i guess...
It seems that these Husqvarna are the best cordless tools for the garden[emoji106]

What is the running time for the saw with one battery, approximately?
Husqvarna or Stihl :)

Difficult to say...depends on what you are cutting...
I cut off all the branches of a tree and there was still charge left:

I think for the hobbiest these tools are good enough. A forest worker will buy a gasoline chain saw.
I was wondering if Fein, Metabo, Festool, Mafell have any vacuum cleaner to offer like the Milwaukee one below?

If not any other cordless decent one?

Thanks!
Bosch has them in green and blue.

Hi Everyone.I am new here so be gentle ;) lol
I cant take a picture at the moment, but recently purchased a NOS Stahlwille stubby ring spanner "Corona series 18a" in 1/2 x 9/16. It is marked "stronger then any bolt" Can anyone tell me when Stahlwille stopped using "stronger then any bolt" ?. It feels amazing in the hand and is my first Stahlwille tool, but wont be the last!

Thanks for any help
Cheers Dave
iirc they removed the inscription in the 60´s. I think the reason was easier forging.

Chain Saw Oil
I remember reading somewhere that all European bar oils are non-petroleum based--that is, they are vegetable oils.
You can get 2 types over here. The standard mineral oil based oil and the "Bio"-oil often based on rapeseed oil. The forestry office usually requires to use bio oil. The bio oil will disintegrate > 60 % within 28 days.

1. Is it better to have more power output above 600W or lower weight?
2. Is the speed very important, i.e. above 8-9k rpm?
3. Is paddle (dead man) switch required?
4. Does anyone knows the difference in FEIN Blocking monitoring vs kickback stop?
1. More power = more weight. Depends on your application...A slim light tool for single hand use is good for deburring for example, but for grinding down thicker stick electrode welds you want something with more power and most likely use two hands. The best is to have both :) For example a slim entry level grinder from Makita or Bosch for example and a more powerful model with >600 watt output and ideally constant electronics. (or better yet around 1000 watt output...)
2. The abrasive grain in cutting discs and grinding wheels works best with high speeds (~11.000rpm). However flap discs and other abrasives can be used or must be used with lower speeds (SC-discs, Scotch-Bright, non-woven discs)
3. no
4. I think it´s about the same. A speed sensor located at the rotor measures the rpm. If the speed suddenly slows down the electronics shut down the motor.
Only Metabo (?) has a safety clutch which disengages when the disc gets stuck, while the motor keeps spinning.
Does anyone know about this torque wrench? Found it in my dads basement, it's about 20 years old I think.
Probably one of the best torque wrenches made. Made out of one solid piece of aluminium.
Hi guys,
If I remember correctly in this thread, I think Monte stated that the Fein 1/2" impact wrenches are the same as Milwaukee, although with a different body design. Please correct me if I am wrong.
If it is like that can I use the Fein batteries for my Milwaukee tools?
Kind regards
The old Fein impacts, yes. The new ones are made here. The batteries are different though

Hi Monte.
The PMA sucrion cups look almost identical to some of them made
By Piher. Likely to be all rebranded from Veribor ?
Rebranded or copied :) Look out for the coo :)
Hi,
What is your opinion about this Beta set?

https://www.tool-net.co.uk/p-430209/beta-2047-e-c108-108-piece-tool-kit.html

Here, it will be available for $ 250. It should not be Italy made! Another option is the Toptul for $ 220. My friend is going to buy for personal repairs.

Thanks.
108 parts for 250.- ... Taiwan...?...

An old AEG jigsaw with no coo, not common at that time, maybe the first ones not made in Germany; who knows.
AEG bought certain tools from Sparky/Bulgaria in the past.

Got a coupon for Bauhaus as a gift, immediately went for pair of Cobras, for rest bought Rapid hot glue gun kit (didn't found COO on package). I love coupons for tools [emoji7] 8d11a844c90ec9b9eb8aace48effd8aa.jpg8c38dee3b171de39236c2b86214bd531.jpg

What do you think about Suhner angle grinders?

Do you know where to find more spec details about them? Very little info on their website.

All the best!

HAZET quality
That is after working under the car's hood for a couple of days. The light still works but it lasts hardly for 3 h at full power which is not enough

For the 120 euros I think they could do better!

That's normal. I have several Models from Berner, ie that one, that
happens to all after a short while. Made in Germany Stuff is marked
as "Made in Germany" in the Catalog.

Suhner is quite good.....but the UWG 10 R 125 is a bit fat though, and the UWC 7/10 models are a bit underpowered for severe tasks...

Not posted anything in this thread in a long time, got a lot of catching up to do :lol_hitti

Some palmera linesman type pliers, pretty decent quality, love the look of them more then anything though, as have a thing for clear 'acetate' type handles on pliers and screwdrivers

View media item 74475

Various wrenches, some super nice Belzer ones, not marked where they are made sadly, and not seen any others like this, shame as they are really nice quality.

An old west german elora 'nutmaster' 300 double open end wrench
and a made in the USSR 17/19mm, no other markings on it bar a diamond shape on the back, (probably the factory that made it) its clearly a copy of the German DIN spanners though not quite to the standard, and seems pretty decent quality, better than the usual late soviet era ones i find which generally came out of 80s lada tool kits.

View media item 74474
A few drivers, two metric hex wiha ones, an unbrako (made in uk) 'high titan' 3/32 hex and an interesting 1980 dated ex British army Footprint brand screwdriver, with a huge solid handle, not sure if footprint are still around, but they made adjustable/pipe wrenches, impact type tools, and screwdrivers, which aren't as common

View media item 74476

Asahi tool 10/13mm spanner, and a pair of unbranded but Japan marked two position slip joint pliers, think these came out of a car tool kit, but are very nice quality

View media item 74472

Also Monte, are you still collecting 13mm combo wrenches? i have a couple of ones you may not have (need to take photos)

Interesting, they were $22 at Lowe's which is around £17

£10 is cheap internet price, store retail is around £15, they used to be more expensive, they have got cheaper as they have become more known and sold in more places, you can buy Chinese copy (Sold for pushing out bodywork damage) for £4, but I suspect those are not going to be very good.

Elliott Lucas vintage pliers.

Good find - great quality tools and very usable!

I'm disappointed how few manufacturers make pliers with plain metal handles. For most mechanics applications they are to be preferred but the choice is pretty limited, and I don't think anybody makes snipe nose pliers to that pattern at all.

Anyway, here is the 'snipe nose brother' of the combination pliers shown. I acquired these only last week, new but old stock, at a local shop!

Husky or Stihl....didn´t want to buy into several battery systems. And these both brands offer everything i need...So i did choose Husqvarna...
I own two 5.2 AH batteries. Enough for my tasks since i usually do some garden work after regular work for 1 or 2 hours so i barely can empty one battery. On saturdays i can do more. Last saturday i did need 4 charges to fell a fir tree and cut all branches into small pieces. But usually i only cut hedges etc. so 1 battery is usually enough.
For the black forest i need a gasoline chain saw but since i don´t live there i don´t need one :) (not yet :))
. If, i might look into Dolmar because they´re made in my city (mostly...still...)....or maybe a Stihl or Husqvarna 545...

Has anyone bought the new 3 speed metabo drill? I have the 2 speed brushless quick release. Its been alright, but nothing compared to the 4 speed Fein! Looks like Metabo is trying to match that a bit more by now offering a high speed (3800 rpm).

I still maintain having been generally unhappy with Metabo products, particularly their customer service (In the USA), but am currently stuck in their battery system until my batteries die or flop before it makes economical sense to swap to someone else but their new offering looks nice.

To cut this needle tree i did need 4 charges. To fell the tree and to cut the stem into slices did eat most energy.
(i also cut the 2 smaller trees on the right next to the naked stem, as well as all the larger branches which i debranched and cut into smaller pieces.)
The 4th battery still had 3 (of 4) dots of the charge left.

Only new one is the 180. Finally finished my set though with all of the sizes from smallest (125mm) to largest (400mm). Definitely don't recommend the smallest 125mm size. The locking mechanism constantly jams when I need to adjust it. I was almost thinking its defective, or just that its so small, it just doesn't work as cleanly as the bigger models.

Also interesting to note the 150 has a slightly different colored finish. Slightly golden in appearance.

Don's see the point of those plier wrenches smaller than 180, they are not precision tools to warrant the smaller sizes IMHO.

Yeah I have two weeks ago. It works like a charm.
The batteries (5Ah) last very long! Haven't had one drill with that battery lifetime.
I also use it with the Festool chuck - it works.

Can do pictures of it on the weekend if you want.

Almost a year ago Knipex did change their coating formula for Pliers Wrenches. See this thread:

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=346247&highlight=knipex+wrench+color

Also I would see if you can exchange your 125mm size. No reason the button shouldn't work like all the others...

Mr MoAiZo,

May I ask one more thing? I would like to know if the following happens with this specific Metabo.

I have triggered the switch on other 2 speed brushless Metabo whilst holding the chuck with my hand and the drill halted by the electronic safety features I assume.

Thank you![emoji106]
