New tools, pretty standard.

Hazet 916 HP, new 1/2" ratchet. 90 teeth, very smooth, rated 1.000Nm of torque.

Snap-On FLL80 & TLL72. Extra long. I chose them because Stahlwille is not yet available (the long handle ratchet has a delivery date in the far future).
Snap-On TM72 bit ratchet and SK Tools 3/8" 90 teeth ratchet.

The On/Off lever of the SK ratchet has to be broken in I guess.
Sometimes it is blocked an will not switch to the other direction.

I thought I'd share this cool video made by German Tool Reviews at Youtube. I know that there are Belzer tool fans here and maybe he can get some thoughts from you guys:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dnbtMNqaRAM?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Thank you Superautobacs; I watched the hole video. I like Belzer very much, and I have some tools, mostly NOS, but also bought 2nd hand, and bought new in the sixties of the 20th era. We had a very nice seller in the Hague, in the Netherlands, my country of origin.

Always enjoy 'German Tool Reviews.' Seams like a nice humble dude. At least he presents himself that way.

interesting that made in germany is not part of the raw forgings
Hi Hautpot, what do you mean? I believe that Knipex gets the steel from a neighbour company with the name Sarstaahl or something liκe this.

look at where the rivet is. it is lasered on. Some models have the text on the handles and some have it on the forgings.

Been that way for a long time. Germany in the forging die is pretty limited to the beefier models like water pump pliers or cobolts.

ok i need a knipex or rennsteig expert here...

which crimpers use the two different styles of dies they have?

363829.jpg

images

Both of those dies fit on the Rennsteig 624/Knipex 97 43, as well as rebrands of this frame, such as the Neutrik HX-R-BNC. I'm not sure why some of them are cut down like that in back. I have one of the cut-down dies, though, and it works just fine.

I think the Knipex dies that don't work on those frames are the Knipex 97 33 series (the ones with the 5-spoke magazine).

I ended up finding a clever reason. The newer dies are cut like that because you can change the dies quicker without fully removing the locating screws. The older version would require fully removal of the two screws which increases likelihood of getting lost. Both new and old are still in production for the many electrical companies that use the Knipex group products.

new arrival, gedore 1335 cantilever toolbox came from tbs aachen. Really nice finnish, opens nicely, no need to do any loosening and lubrication. I was looking old model with wooden handle but didnt find a one in good condition so bought this one..the price was about double vs stahlwille or hazet but i like the gedores style were the bottom widens, much more stable with one side open. Now just need to empty the facom probag and fill the gedore:)

and some gold stuff. Bit daft.

To celebrate our 140-year anniversary, we are offering our classic tools as Limited Editions:

Roll-up case: Set of screwdrivers with seven 23.6 carat gold-plated interchangeable blades and the SwissGrip handle, two electronics screwdrivers for slotted heads and with rotating caps and an interchangeable reamer blade in a space-saving, black roll-up case.

Just when I thought my collection of gold-plated interchangeable reamer blades was complete, this shows up. And it only comes as part of a kit filled with other things I do not need.

That Gedore box looks quite nice, I like the push down handles VS the two independent handles. I'm a big fan of the Cantilever box. I currently have the larger Facom and a USAG. The USAG doesn't have quite the same quality feel as the Facom. It's amazing how much stuff you can fit in these and still have them not be a total mess to sort through. Again, nice find on the Gedore, Post more pics once you have it setup:)

My tool upgrade process took another step yesterday, finally decided on my combo wrench update... Hazet 600N.

I didn't want a full polish finish. It seemed cool in the 90's when I first became aware of snap-on which seemed impossibly exotic, but it seems every cheapskate wrench is knocking off the snap-on look these days and it just doesn't appeal to me. Genuine snap-on also doesn't really appeal to me for whatever reason, something about the company, sales methods, and like everything else in Australia it's absurdly expensive if bought locally.

I quite like Japan for tools, but many nice options miss important non-JIS sizes (eg no 11mm available in Asahi Revowaves). Not sure if KTC/Nepros have all the sizes (likely do?) but they're full polish, so don't really float my boat.

I initially fancied the Facom 440's, but then found they were made in Taiwan after bl00dy Stanley asset stripped them out of existence just like they did to Sidchrome here in Oz... who incidentally offers a very similar but not quite so pretty wrench (likely made in the same factory) also called a 440. In any case, I found they also looked a bit short.

So it came down to Hazet 600N or Stahlwille 14. Something about the Hazet just seemed a little nicer, and I found a nice deal on the 600N's through forum member Jens Putzier and went that way. After sleeping on it I had decided to also add another set of 606 ratcheting wrenches to make a bit more from the shipping, but the super efficient Jens already had shipped within hours! Looking forward to receiving them...

Photos... will do.

I forgot to mention the Gedore #7's which made the short list. Like the 440's they seemed to be a little shorter than what I'm used to. They also take the "basic satin finish" to the extreme and in a way actually look somewhat crude.... albeit in a lovely sort of way. :D Nice smooth shape though, probably very nice in the hand and won't trap the grime as much as the more elaborate forging of the Hazet. I guess I'll find out... The Hazets are a bit shorter than my current spanners in the small sizes, and a little longer in the larger sizes, which seems like a good arrangement.

I only have a 600N in 17mm and it is a great wrench: well balanced, just the right length, good chrome. The finish sanding before chrome left a little to be desired, but the fit/functionality is great.

Thank you very much for the help,
They arrived today:

nice set and good timing, just noticed stock is gone and price has gone up. I also picked up this set, really good value

Finish to arrive, national product for my SB7750 3/8

Where did you get this one? i have been trying to justify getting this for a while as it is the same as the Snap-on Dual80 on the inside. How does it feel to use ?

Just couple of pics from today's exhibition.

Daewoo power tools.

Total tools. A Chinese brand recently appeared on the Ukrainian market. I don't know anything about their quality, nor about their price range, but I suppose they will make very active advertising campaign :D

Zaporozhabrasive cutting discs. Made in Ukraine.

Carbon steel and non sparking tools from Dean Tools, China.

A little bit of Huyndai garden tools.

MyTools levels. The brand is registered in Estonia, but tools are made in China and Taiwan. Good enough price and quality ratio.

Sola levels.

Stanley :D Made in France, Israel, Taiwan and China.

Dnipro-M tools. Ukrainian brand, Chinese production. Overpriced DIY ****. Nevertheless, this brand is very popular due to aggressive advertising. Sorry, guys, but their site doesn't have an English version.

Tolsen tools. Another Chinese brand, a newbie on the Ukrainian market.

Gröne power tools. The distributor swears it's made in Poland, but I will believe it only after I see the invoice :D

No idea where Könner & Söhnen products are made, but it is German brand.

Italian made Bossini Ingotools.

Eibenstock tools.

A little bit of Wiha.

And last, but not least: Cedima machines.

Just taking this stand as an example, isn't it amazing how a brand can now just appear from nowhere? Once upon a time it would have taken decades for a tool company to get to the point of having a range like that.

Some of those drills Cynical huckster posted are Chinese copies of Metabo and Makita designs. Can't imagine why anybody would buy them. There can't be many around who can't afford a decent basic tool like a corded hammer drill from one of the market leaders.

Hopefully they will be seized by the German Police at the next Eisenwarenmesse, which does indeed happen every year for copyright infringements

Recieved Hazet 600SPC/10 set, 8-19 mm, skipping 9 and 11mm.

Probably mentioned here before, but check out the markings on the 13mm wrench, "150 - HAZET - 1868 - 2018":

New Brockhaus Heuer Front 160mm, 27kg.

Here's my new 180mm (7") Heuer, the cheaper fixed jaw model.
Same size body as the 160 but with longer handle spindle and jaws.

The price seems reasonable enough for a large drop forged steel item made in Germany: £198 GBP delivered plus tax.
The turntable is extra as are the 7 different types of magnetic jaw covers.

Yes, of the 10 wrenches, only the 13mm is marked this way.

They have a few anniversary wrenches that I think are gold leaf plated which are stamped the same. Guess they're just getting there money's worth out of the forging dies.

Got the Stahlwille 8-piece double offset ring wrenches, 6-22 mm, skipping 21mm. Smoother finish than the Hazet, but good in the hand. Great price at Amazon.de (EUR 62.50).
