Here are my new Tools from my grandfather !

according to the Facom logo it's between 1945 and 1964. S.71 is written on the side of the box. Sockets from 10mm to 22mm.

Any clue on a more precise date ?

Some more random tool content from the old world...

Wiha security bit set, bought from Amazon.de. Handle is marked made in Germany but no other items are marked. The box is a bit flimsy, due too the special design.

Some facts.
Someone told me that 1960's normal construction workers two days salory did not get even a desent construction hammer let alone one these socket sets, that how expencive real tools where those days.

A walk down memory lane: In the sixties I bought these sockets etc. one by one, metric and imperial, I was 20. When I had completed these tools, I wrote to Bahco, Sweden for a coffret that fits, telling I had bought all the tools loose and wanted a coffret for them.......Within a fortnight I got a carton from Stockholm containing 2 ea of these same coffrets as yours, one for the metric tools, the other for the imperial ones : free of charge!! I was very happy!
In the eighties both were stolen, together with my Bradbury 1,5T crick and my Zinser MMA welding transformer, from my garage, still living in the Netherlands..............

Many boxes full of rusty tools. Was surprised to see so many Gedore spanners amongst the Bedford, Britool, King ****, Snail brand, Bahco adjustables, Record vices and clamps etc.

Lots of stalls/tables with new tools. Neilsen, AM Tech, US.PRO, Stanley, Dewalt etc. A few had Wiha screwdrivers.

One of the more interesting tables with mostly new tools had a small selection of Snap on, NWS, Wurth, Facom, Teng etc. Prices were fair. They were asking £3 each for the Wurth screwdrivers and £20 for the Facom 3/8 pear head ratchet.

I was a little overwhelmed with the choice so only bought a couple of tools. A £3 Wurth 1/4 driver and a scabby Snap on ratchet spanner for £1.50. Will definitely be going again next month.

Good stuff from the "AutoJumble".

I take it the weather was rather cool there from what people were wearing.

Do you have to pay to get in ?

^ Also wondered what happened to the 3/8. :dunno:

I find my Facom pear head ratchet to be a bit noisy/clicky. Sounds like it just needs a little lube but the sealed design prevents this. It's a little frustrating not being able to take it apart.

Soak it in ATF overnight, works on mine.

Had my doubts this would help as I had tried squirting 3in1 in the gaps and dunking the ratchet in an oil catcher after oil changes so thought the head was completely sealed. Left it overnight in power steering fluid (got no atf) after you posted and then packed it away and forgot about it. Finally got round to using the ratchet again today and was pleasantly surprised that is does sound smoother. Cheers.

A DIN rated gem by Gola. I have no idea whom that might be.

Good user for my kit.

Needed a small angle grinder for a while. Now a good deal came out for Fein, so bought it. If to look their promotional videos the angle grinders are supposed to be made in germany. Today the tool arrives and it's made in china.
Not happy at all  I have now three tools from Fein and only multitool is made in germany. Probably will not buy anything from them in future :(

Some people say that if you push these they die soon compared to the German ones which are really tough.

Better return it and get one Made in Germany, from the 125 mm and above and all with variable speed should be still made in Germany.

Best is to ask before you buy by phone/ email.

Belzer Tools (Brasil)

44180017384_4670e4cf5d_b.jpg
Hello 101%LOKO, I see Belzer Brazil use the green grips from their budget mark of the past:Itma. Lovely catalogue ,you have! In the newest Bahco catalogue, hard bound, orange, the name Belzer is definitely gone. The old Belzer typenumbers still exist, but the name has gone.................it´s a pity for this once great brand. Now I am collecting old Liliput wrenches preferably without typenumbers, only Belzer Liliput. Kind regards!

From this past weekends sales. Both offset type wrench's. Top is an Izeltas from Turkey and the bottom is a Acesa from Spain. Both metric. Chrome Vanadium steel but they still feel lighter than other brands.

New Facom adjustable spanners with the new grip style. Not sure of COO. A feature I haven't seen before (may just be new to me) is that it looks like the screw can be pulled away from the worm for quick adjustment. Website description says 'The operator simply depresses the integrated button to release and adjust the moving jaw instantly. The jaw can then be tightened on the nut rapidly and securely, with fine adjustments controlled using the worm mechanism.' Can be seen in this vid.

More info here

The "speed adjustment" feature was on the old 113CP series (before the 113A)....glad they brought it back.

This arrived today.
Does anyone know if the "automatic" opening clip is sold separately? And what is your reference?
