After seeing someone post up a bosch drill recently, i decided to check the coo on the bosch tools that i have. My 2 bigger hammer drills are marked made in germany, both work great and get treated a bit rough. Then, i checked the bosch jigsaw and roto zip, both marked made in the U.S.A and finally the bosch sawzall, marked made in china. Fail, i had no clue.
And in the first shot is my Fein cut off and sander tool. This thing is great, it has seen better days and i think i am due for a new one. Its hard when your employee's do not treat your tools as if they were there own.

:D McKöttbullar ?? :D
I bought one of the "McNürnburger" but like you already said it don´t look that good... also not enough mustard and they need to install a coal grill for the proper taste and grill them longer , more crispy :)
i don´t know anything about german food culture (?) except schnitzel and wurst :)
Here is a pic of german food culture :D

I'll have to contact McD and suggest that!
Like all McD-food, the real life products looks way worse than the promotional picture... Eww

I bought it and the others for the regular price, about 4€ to 5€ each i think. Just for the collection.... on the other hand... :D the handle is quite nice.... maybe a set or two... :D .... later.... :D

I'm starting to thing you have never met a driver you didn't like ;)

@Hazet:
In the 2007 catalog the driver is still there, so maybe 2008 or 2009 discontinued ?

FWIW, I couldn't find it in the 2009 catalog.

Yes they are sweeeet. I found a guy on ebay that was selling the first pair of Hazet needle nose with the yellow handles that i posted a while back. I had to contact him cause it said he would only ship to germany, and thats when I found out about his other Hazet tools. So I purchased them as you can see.:D:rocker::D

Lucky B*§$%&d :D

What are those Hazet pliers you posted used for? Crimping of some sort.

The one is a "Flange" plier the other a "Punch" plier
here i posted about these pliers: (post 1447 + 1452)

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=756396&highlight=tama#post756396

To make a "step" in sheet metal and with the other plier punch it for welding them together.

:D yup :D

ah good to know !!!!! So 2008 it was discontinued ! So hurry up peeps if you want one !!!!! :)

@blue dog:
nice Bosch tools !!!!!!!!!!

A store had these Wiha bits on clearance sale here (replaced now by "Wolfcraft") so i picked up some packages ( 1.- to 2.- ea. , Bit holder 5.-).

zzwwyy032.jpg

I don´t know if i need these though !?!?!?

zzwwyy041.jpg

There was once the question in this thread or another regarding the origin of this Wiha bit holder since the tool itself don´t say anything:

zzwwyy036.jpg

Bits :)

zzwwyy064.jpg

"unfortunately" 30 minutes before i went to the Wiha dealer i bought some Wera bits... :lol_hitti

zzwwyy050.jpg

....but finally my small bit set for the bit ratchet is ready ! (ok slotted bits are still missing :D)

Good choice. I believe that Wiha make the best screwdriver bits. I've had a little set of their Torx bits and after 4 or 5 years they still look like new. They bit better than anything else i have tried and they didn't even cost a lot. I also have a DeWalt branded set which i think is Wera? They're also good, but the finish has some surface corrosion or discolouration. :(

I ended up returning mine since theres quite a few pics on the internet of one that says Made in Germany. Anyways do you have any suggestions of a EU(preferably Swiss) made one?

I think Dewalt once (?) (still???) (some of them???) use/used Wiha bits. I think i can remember that they had "torsion" bits which looks like this Wiha one which is a patented design:

zzwwyy063.jpg

EDIT:
here it is: Look at the package, clearly Wiha, bits too, and "Made in Germany" :)
(The Dewalt "bulk-bits" and regular bits are imported i think??)

gr_dt7950.jpg

Ah yes that was me who asked about that.

ahhh yes i think i can remember now....the large Wiha bit set... !!! :)

Returned because that´s missing ?? Anyway the Wera is better, the bits don´t have to be locked, they lock automatically ("Rapidaptor")
From Switzerland i only know PB Swiss. I don´t know if their locks automatically ?

zzwwyy037.jpg

@Monte:

Wow! Nice Wiha score... awesome to walk into a store and see stuff like that on "clearance"... you should get the rest of them and pedal the packs on GJ:pimpflash - just kidding.

;)
i think with the Amazon "70% off" sale prices that won´t pay off to ship them to the US ;)

The funny thing is i use my cordless drill maybe once a month :) And not always with screwdriver bits (but with a drill bit or countersink tool)....
So i think these bits should last the rest of my life :D

These I LIKE! Can you tell me, do you turn the ratchet select collar the same direction as you want the nut to turn, as on a Snap On ratcheting drivers? Or is it reversed, as on the GearWrench ratcheting driver?

Maybe that's obvious from the LR markings if L = left and R = right...in which case, it's reversed like the GearWrench.

If it's like the SnapOn, (turn it the direction you want it to go) then I'm hell-bent to get myself one of those.

Just found the new Wera ratcheting screwdrivers !! :pimpflash:
Available with "Rapidaptor" bit holder or for exchangeable "Vario" blades. 8 degree swing arc. Prices between 16.90 and 23.- Euro.

re: bits. Have the Wiha and the PB Swiss and some German-made Hilti, but I've never found any to be the quality of the US-made Apex.

I think it´s like the Gearwrench one.... I don´t know when the new Wera drivers will hit the stores but i will try one out when they arrive !

@ Monte:

Wow! those are some nice flapper/wire wheels! the Osborn looks nasty!

- Kinda off topic:

Anybody have experience w/ the Stahlwille pear-head ratchets? I'm in the market for a new 3/8" and am debating between waiting for the NEW Hazet finetooth, a Stahl, Gedore, or going w/ the long handle Wright... price wise, the Wright is cheap and does what I want, but would like some input on the Stahl's or Gedores.

@Theloniousmonk
I only have a Gedore coarse tooth pear head ratchet in 1/2" and 1/4" but no 3/8". They´re very smooth (Dual pawl + soft springs)
.

From the flea market:

I seen some questionable screwdriers yesterday. They were labeled "Panzer Germany" on the handles the package was red, yellow and, black with german writing on it and no sign of a COO other than the handles saying Germany on them. It was $4 for 8 or 10 new screwdrivers and they seemed crudely made.

Nice Sata paint gun! I've never done paint in my life but now i want a paint gun!

Monte, do you know somewhere online that sells Stahlwille? I want to find some prices on Stahlwille tools but am not having much luck finding a good seller. Need more German tools!

Painting is fun ! I would look into "Spot repair", i think you could earn a few bucks....

Here a online shop from germany http://werkzeuggigant.com/
They have the complete Wille program (at least it seems so). Minimum order is 50.-€ though

They sell them at eBay, too.

And other strange screwdrivers at eBay:

Sora look-a-like

Felo look-a-like

No idea about this one...

Saw some cheap copies from this one, too. Didn't know they were from Witte :O.

Visited the store again where i bought the Wiha bits on sale. They replaced them with Witte. Picked up 1 set :)

Bought this 1/4" sq. dr. T-handle from "Lux". Looks almost like Felo. Available in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". (But not from Felo)

PB Swiss or Garant.

Better choice !!!! ;)

I have heard that Garant sockets are made by Stahlwille. Is this true? What about their screwdrivers?

Yes the sockets are made by Stahlwille (except the "surface drive" sockets i think). Knurling is missing though. Screwdrivers are from PB Swiss Tools

@ Monte No the quality is too low. I am looking to get some screwdrivers but they will probably be PB Swiss or Garant.

Don't rule out the Felo Ergonomics yellow/black drivers... cheaper than alot of competition. They all have hex shanks, bolsters and decent grip. The tips are no-thrills but do the job.

I have been very happy w/ mine over the last 6months or so. Bondhaus is/was (don't know) giving away a free #2 phillips w/ a twinpack of sae/metric hex... if you need some hex keys, pick-em up and get the free driver and see if you like the handle - that's how I found the felos by accident.

They came off eBay here, one seller has a few of these sets. They don't get bids and the seller has a lot of auctions, i got these for the starting price:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stahlwille-3p...t=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item255dda8ed3

I really like Elora, Stahlwille and Hazet. They're the main German brands i look at buying tools from. :)

Esgen is another German brand i want more from, they make excellent tools. :)
