The ratchet has a 3/8" drive bit on the flip side. You can actually install an extension on the ratchet head.

I was thinking $140 was high too. How about say $100?

Thanks

Oh, ok... can't see the bit in the pic... I don't know about $100... if you like it and think it a good deal, then get it - it seems to be a nice set. actually, $100 doesn't seem that bad when considering similar sets from Facom or Hazet are pushing $300+...

I counted the teeth on this Elora 3/8 ratchet, 24. However it has a very very positive feel when you turn it. If I did not count then I would have thought it had more.

Looks like the ratchet had been stored for quite some time. Probably cleaning and new grease will even make it better.

I'll try to bargain with the seller for $85. If he goes for it then I'll take it.

Thanks again.

You mean these? :)

yes :D

btw: nice Stahlwille stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice piston ring tools !!! Engine overhaul ?

I emailed KTC. Unfortunately no 3/4 Nepros sets. Only 1/4, 3/8, 1/2. That said, I am pretty sure a non Nepros branded KTC does 3/4.

Yes they have 3/4 + 1"
http://en.ktc.co.jp/products/catalog/index_category.html#01

To be honest, I have not set a budget, or even have a preference at this stage. I am looking for a set that is strong, precision fit and is not made in Taiwan! I REALLY like the looks of the Beta sets, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they are made in Taiwan the same as the Facom sets. I am looking for quality that lasts a lifetime. That leaves me with the 3 remaining German manufacturers.. choices, choices..

choose one :)

since you already have Stahlwille sockets........ maybe Stahlwille ??
"Chreese" has a nice 3/4" Stahlwille set...

@JayL:
a set like this:

already cost $286.- . The missing universal joint cost $35.90. A 75mm extension cost $13.20. So the value in new is about $335.-

Welcome to the forum Joki. :)

Picked up some writing instruments today. The pencils are Faber Castell and made in Germany. The design is rather unusual...

Also it came with a sharpener I thought was entirely made in Germany, it turns out only the blade is.

I belive either Elora or Hazet is making the socket sets for Wurth, but the ratchets looks like Falcom.

I know we souce some tools from sthalwille, the test light is def from them.
It also looks like the caliper file is Hazet and the caliper brush is either Hazet or Falcom. Take a look here and let me know what you think

Has this thread really gotten to the point where you're showing off your pencils/pencil sharpeners?

They're quality tools. Why not? I use these markers for work all the time. The plastic case is even a great design. I use these Italian tools, too.

Nice boots! I'll have to track down my watercolor set made in germany.

anyway, the "Ergo" name on soft handles from say Facom and Bahco and Beta... is that just a catch phrase for "comfort grip" or is it an acutal company that supplies handle material to manufacturers?

yea, my bahco's have the same thing... the facom's have a reg. mark too, but the "ergo" logo is also different. wonder if they just register a logo for "ergo" to differentiate one handle style vs. a competitor's handle style.

sorry :D
.....but i have to post these pens here :D (last pens i post :D )

Thin and thick white "Schneider" lacquer paint markers. Great for marking metal, thicker ones for example if you want to cut something with a torch or plasma cutter.

I always thought that all of the socket tools are from Facom !?!?!? I don´t know about the file + brush, probably from a file and the other tool from a brush company like Lessmann. The test light is made by "H+H Werkzeug" i think
http://www.hh-werkzeug.de/auto.html (formerly "Brehmer Spannungsprüfer")

screwdrivers are from Felo, some pliers Knipex, bits sometimes from Wera i think, rat. screwdrivers + wrenches from Hi-Five i think, a air ratchet i saw is "made in Japan", the rest i dont know. (in the US they have different tools sometimes too)

Looks like Hazet is also making our Lug sockets with plastic sleve.

i dunno - in the catalog they look like they´re red anodized. Usually the anodized stuff is imported.... Do the sockets say "Germany" somewhere ? Some wrenches say "Germany"....

Well not all my pictures can be Bosch powertools. ;)

sure they could :D :D :D

That reminds me I just got a pair of Birkenstocks... :)

Birkenstock open toe safety shoes ??? :D ;)

anyway, the "Ergo" name on soft handles from say Facom and Bahco and Beta... is that just a catch phrase for "comfort grip" or is it an acutal company that supplies handle material to manufacturers?

i think it´s short for "ergonomic"

edit: www.uspto.gov 782 results for "ergo" ...

Snap-on boxes are stronger. They can carry a truck ! :D
The Facom boxes are **** because they can´t !!! :D ;)

Found this "Format" bottle opener with "Wera Kraftkant" handle at a dealer today:

i need a bottle opener for my SamSmith, Stella, and Guinness extrastout. off to amazon and ebay i go... wonder if Wera offers one in Stainless Steel.

- did some research on the "Ergo" too, the logos are registered to the manufacturers (bahco/SA and Facom) - so it is just a marketing/sales technique. hoped to find an actual company that made squishy handles in germany so i could put one on anything possible.

Those are some nice bins Monte... I love how ze Germans slather labels and logos all over anything made there...makes the product all the more interesting to look at. I realize they all have a function, but cool anyway.

Well, i think that's really important. Many germans ,like my mother, only buy cheap stuff and don't look at the COO, me too. But lately i take a look at the labels and buy, if possible stuff from germany. Sometimes stuff from germany is even cheaper than stuff from china.
:shocking:

Office tool:

mh from lithuania :spit:

screwdrivers

big pictures and skgs aren't good friends :bounce:

and tripleplus sockets from ks tools:

Does anyone know where this BOSCH is made? Any experience with it? I think it would be useful around my home garage. I don't have much space or an air tank for airtools yet.

The stores i visited don´t offer the tool. The older model was made in the USA:
http://www.dynamitetoolco.com/Bosch-21618-Impactor-1-2-inch-High-Torque-Impact-p/bos-21618.htm

The best is probably to email or call a store.

couldn´t find one... :(

i don´t know if something like this exist ? There is a company in UK though..

:) yeah "TUV approved" label and "GS Approved safety" labels have to be everywhere :)

Also I was at the John Deere store over in Ohio as they have a huge Bosch display and seen a cordless grinder I want.

Bosch20GWS2018V-Li_WARRENTY.jpg

Made in Germany but it costs 3-4 times what my corded one did so I'll be waiting for a sale or rebate deal. Also oddly enough it wasn't very heavy.

Hello everyone!
Seeking information on hand tools on the Internet, accidentally fell into this amazing forum. I was fascinated by what I saw here!
Prior want to apologize if I write incomprehensible! This happens because service use Google translator. Because of difficulties with the language will write less, but at the expense of this will read it! :)
In recent posts you have posted photos of an old instrument. I would also like to let a few days. We have several authentic screwdrivers and switches made from an old Bulgarian factory ... Incidentally, I'm from Bulgaria - forgot to mention. My work is related to the renovation of homes. Perform this work for 15 years. The work is all about me ... naturally after the family!
At the outset of my presentation will put pictures of the instruments with which to work. If some of the pictures a man, then that's me! :)

The first picture is my kit for installation.
