Danish made Volvos? I'm no Volvo guy, but i never heard of that. All i've heard is 3 and 4-series made in Netherlands, and 2,7 and 9-series in Sweden.
Sorry, actually made in Belgium, not Denmark...

I'm from Denmark, and I have a few Danish made tools... mostly screwdrivers and such. I'll try and get a few pics!
The Danish made Irwin drills are actually very nicely made, and very effective.

Whoops, forgot about that thread, but this thread grows at a much faster pace. ...just a matter a time.

No kidding! ...I have a soft spot for Nepros stuff.
i know
I'm not sure of the exact reason, but my reaction was the same as yours. It seems like he's burnt out...there's a lot of work involved in publishing his books...All the travelling to different tool manufacturers abroad and domestic, the picture taking, and all the writing and editing that goes along with it. It's all too much for him and he needs to take a rest from that so that he can concentrate on his stores, as a boss. He's going into other projects to start something new though. For example, there's his radio broadcasting: Air-G

how about you ???

I like his magazine better than the radio ...more pics
windows media player only show strange "formations" and no tool pics while listening to the radio

Monte, or anyone else in EU,
Have any of you played around with the WiLL GripStar pliers? I'm curious as to how well the adjustment works. More parts to break?
The sparkplug pliers are interesting.
Will pliers are very popular in South Africa
I googled Screwdrivers made in Denmark thinking I would find some brands I hadn't heard of before and it turned up pornographic ones.

I'd love to travel around the world, go to tool manufacturer's headquarters/plants, take as many photos as allowed, do interviews, and publish it in multiple languages so that the world is given awareness to the existence of the various manufacturers and the premium tools they produce.
We got German and English covered already....what about some other languages.
no, only with the sibling, the "Orbis Speedy". You can adjust the pliers by just pushing the handle like in this video to open the pliers you don´t have to push a button like in the video, but just open the pliers handle to a certain degree and then you can open the pliers. The Will pliers have 2 rows of teeth on the outside of the joint with "dual pawls", the Orbis pliers one row of teeth with a single "pawl". IIRC the pawl consist of 1 or 2 pieces so thats about the same amount of parts than the traditional "push button" pliers. Here´s a PDF of the Orbis Speedy "Quick-snap" pliers with 10 reasons why you should buy them
I like how the Orbis joint mechanism is essentially covered, unlike the WiLL GripStar. But I'm happy with my Quattro grips so I don't think I really need it.
On a different note, I wonder if Knipex is going to extend the quick adjusting insulated plierswrench to their standard non-insulated versions?
BTW, I still love watching the NWS videos--they're all nicely done....very modern....without some corny infomercial type background music.
they also make this "Orbis Torqy" similar to the Knipex "Multiple Slip Joint Spanner" but with the function of the "Speedy"
Hrmm, in comparison to the Knipex, the Orbis one is quite bulky at the head. I'm not sure if I like that, but the quick adjusting feature could very well be a handy thing. When adjusting the Raptor to the optimal size for any given fastener, where access is somewhat restricted, and your view of the fastener is the side (not the head), it often takes a couple tries to get it right. The first adjustment you make is often either too small or too big.
yup(i want
)
Should also make sure not to damage spark plug boots. The regular pliers have quite thin jaws and old spark plug boots are sometimes difficult too remove and have brittle rubber boots...
Yeah, you're right, these pliers usually just have thin jaws, but I guess the larger surface area of these should work better in preventing damage on older plug wires.
@superautobacs, do you know any website where i can find this Will sparkplug plier ?

and the box usually says so in very fine writing(or at least the proxxon tools I seen at Woodcraft do.)you could send a email to the e-mail adress at the link superautobacs provided or send a mail to the email addy on this page http://www.orbiswill.de/ and ask for a distributor in france if you need a quick answer. I also can email them if you don´t dare to ask![]()
Servus Monte ! Many months ago i've e-mailed WILL twice to ask them for their rep./dealer in France. But they never answered. I'll try to contact them again hoping for an answer, otherwise i'll ask you to be so kind to do it for me in German. Maybe you'll be more lucky. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the info !!! ps: is there a swedish tool forum ?
yeah that would be pretty cool !! To take a look inside the factories would be already satisfactory !! I think through this forum (+ others) the interested people can learn about all the different brands - maybe even more people than published in a magazine.
Yeah, that's true. This forum/thread is a great source/reference for learning about tools from around the world. I still think that it'll be nice if the 6 magazines could be translated into other languages.
The insulated Cobra ? I asked the dude at the Hardware fair but he said most likely not because the Cobras are advertised like "set and forget" with a adjustment which can´t accidentally be changed.
Whoops, I meant the Cobras.
...and fair enough, if that's what the Knipex rep. said.
btw: videos....: Wiha Quick Fix but the new version....fully automatic:
I can do without the QuickFix plier, but damn, after watching that new auto-adjusting QuickFix plier, I kinda want one now. I think it provides a much better ergonomics over the Knipex SmartGrip.

Does Unior get theirs from Wiha...or?

What about the Rothenberger Ro-Grip type? I saw them when I was tool shopping in Paris. I guess it's more similar to the Knipex SmartGrip:

For situations like you described or maybe where you can´t see nothing at all the automatic adjustment pliers are great i think. A "automatic" pliers wrench would be cool too imho.
I agree....an automatic Raptor plier with the same ergonomic features of the self-adjusting Wiha QuickFix would be![]()
So, did anyone take advantage of Gedore's 30% discount code?
I am very happy with the Felo driver and will probably end up buying the whole 550 set. I just hope they are really durable... what do you think monte? Are they one of the most durable or should I go with one of the other brands as an impact driver set?
Also, I got a few chances to try out my relatively new Knipex Pliers-wrench and I think it's great... the cobra with the ergo grip is next on my list. Knipex and Channellock are my favorite brands of pliers.![]()
P.S. > sorry if these two items have already been pictured in this thread... I just meant it to be a thank-you for Monte.

Not that i know of. There is tool subforums on some motor/DIY/home improvement forums, but none where i have found a tool interest (No expertise like yours to be found).
Regarding spark boot pullers, do you know any for cramped spaces? The beetle don't have a lot of space since the spark plugs is to the sides.
Yeah, that's true. This forum/thread is a great source/reference for learning about tools from around the world. I still think that it'll be nice if the 6 magazines could be translated into other languages.

Try one and report !!I´m done with buying even more water pump pliers

yeah, but never tried them out so far unfortunately. "Robo-grips" would be another choiceBut i usually use the Cobras instead of the smart-grip. When i see the Ro-grips i´ll try them.

... I prefer the handle design from Felo over others like Wera so i would not hesitate to buy the 550 set.
I'd also like to say that I prefer the Felo over the Wera handles, especially in the larger handle sizes. I found out that the high ridge on the Wera handle would dig in to the palm during high-torque useage; the ridge on a Felo handle is smoother and less pronounced, which equates to a more comfortable fit for my hand.
Yeah that would be really nice..... translated into english would be cool....btw superautobacs can´t you read/write japanese and english (hint ) ????
Perhaps when I retire, and that'll be a while.

Yeah, something tells me that Unior had them from before too, but I never looked into the features of it until you posted the video link to the Wiha QuickFix. Seeing the QuickFix reminded me of the Unior one.
I don't need another one, but I sure would like to have another one.
I´ll mail the idea to Knipex....

Do you think this is a good ratchet? Planning to get one because its available locally to me. Probably around $50.
), Toptul announced their own release of the new wrenches. They looked all too similar and that led me to think that they were produced in Taiwan. I think Alfajuj, a member from Taiwan, even said that....IIRC, I think he may have been the one who informed us here. I may be wrong...it was information from over an year ago or more. There's been a few threads that touched this subject.Isn't the micro mill made in Austria?![]()

I spotted some "Made in Slovakia" Craftsman clamps at Sears. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
I couldn't find any COO at all on the Facom 440 wrenches I just got in the mail. Nothing. Nada. Not even in fine print on the back of the cardboard underneath the new UPC sticker. I'll just assume they weren't made in a country at all, but in outer space.![]()

It's still strange to see a guy that's surrounded by the best tools in the world and fine German cars working on a Monte Carlo.
Monte, have you ever tried the tools they sell at you're local LIDL store?
Got the Danish made saw today.![]()
Gedore Tools had a booth at this year's AAPEX show in Vegas. I picked up a catalog. Gedore tools are now available in the US at www.gedoretools.com
You can also sign up for their newsletter and other stuff. There is also a special currently going on where select tools are 30% off and all others are 10% off through 12/31/10. The tools aren't cheap but, if you're a diehard German tool fan here's your chance to get some Gedore.
It's still strange to see a guy that's surrounded by the best tools in the world and fine German cars working on a Monte Carlo. Just...why? What's the finished product going to look like? I don't see the attraction. It must just be the Superman Effect.
I think Monte needs a Quattro!![]()
