Now, THAT bike is cool! Nice pic Monte!

Note on Belzer -

I was browsing the Apex Tool Group website today, saw "Mayle" and was curious, went to the site and saw "Belzer" listed under affiliated brands along w/ Lufkin, Weller, Nicholson and a few other Cooper companies - sooooooooo, it seems Belzer is owned by Apex these days, but I could be wrong.

Sorry I don´t know

hmmm 5 seconds to open ??? not that safe :)
Luckily most thieves come with a bolt cutter and then it can be more complicated to open that lock :)

Re: Belzer:
There is a brazilian Belzer owned by Cooper and the former german Belzer owned now by Bahco/Snap-on. I don´t know about the connection of these two companies ?

Hello. Sorry to bump & hope i posted wright here.

2 Things.

I found these at my grandparents.
With sockets from 10 to 24 and then 27, 30, 32.The ratchet still works.
Does anyone recognize the symbol ?
It's like a triangle but without the lower side on the sockets and on the ratchet a full triangle with something in it but very vizible.
Doesn't say anything on the them and no box.

And the second thing.
If i may ask , what good/ best brands do you recommand that if i buy them brand new they will last a lot ?

For the past 2 days i've read 125 pg on this topic and will finish it :) and from what i saw my wish list for now is something like this (no particular order):
German - Hazet , Gedore
Swedish - Bahco
French - Facom
Italian - Beta
Etc

I'm interested in something like this (link) or (link) ....and want to know that the ratchet is of verry good quality.

I want to use them on my first ever car (BMW E34), i like to mend it ...it's a hobby. And i discovered that you also need good tools to do a good job.

Any imput is of great help.

There was a pricing error when I tried to buy it so the cashier gave me a discount. :) It was $12 plus tax. :)

Also I visited the John Deere shop(Bosch dealer) and seen a Swiss belt sander I want. They had a few other interesting things like Cooper handsaw thats made in Denmark(might get it next week) and some dodgy Irwin drill bits. The package is marked made in Denmark but the bits are finished different than the ones I have, the markings are different and there wasn't a COO.

american lockpicker,

Which industrial tool suppliers (name, website, and/or address) you visited locally in West Virginia and in Ohio are your favorites for their stock and competitive prices for European made hand and power tools?

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks,

Dave

Well I get most of my powertools at Lowes(Parkersburg or Vienna.) Also I shop at Fastenal(Parkersburg or Ravenswood), Granger(Parkersburg) and the Bosch dealer Bridgeport Equipment and Tool (15 Acme street Marietta, OH 45750).

For handtools I mostly buy on line but occasionally I'll find new old stock at any normal hardware store like True Value, Do It Best, Home Depot, Oesterle, etc.

Also theres Woodcraft. They carry a full line of Festool some Proxxon and all kinds of Euro woodworking tools.

I like that crowbar. :) Can it be found in North America?

a quick search only showed sites from the UK + Australia etc. but I´m pretty sure Rennsteig USA can help you: www.rennsteig.us

German - Hazet , Gedore

With the brands you´ve mentioned you can´t go wrong i think. It´s mostly a matter of taste what to get i think.
ps: where are you from ? Italy ?

I'm interested in something like this (link) or (link) ....and want to know that the ratchet is of verry good quality.

The Hazet ratchet yes :) The Bahco set has a great price though and you get a lot more tools and even wrenches...... mmmmhhh

Nice crowbar Monte! I love the Rennsteig stuff. Specially the crimping tools. I think the company is owned by Knipex?

Quick comparison of my Facom and Beta sockets. The Facom is metric and the Beta is imperial/standard size. Both are very nicely finished and of comparable quality. The Beta has a combination of highly polished and matt surface while the Facom is all polished.

The bit sockets use a different mechanism. The Facom has an internal clip and the Beta has an external one. Both work very well and I don't see any particular advantage to either one.

Mora made it and the brand was Cocraft which I assume is a Norwegian brand as it came from Oslo.

I got quite surprised when i saw your first post. How did you get it? CoCraft is the hand tool brand for the swedish ClasOhlsson (http://www.clasohlson.co.uk/Product/Product.aspx?id=157750981) hobby stores. ClasOhlson is a swedish company, founded 1918. They have (usualy Bahco) quality tools, but also their CoCraft brand. Those a mostly cheap ****, but as usual with knifes in sweden they're rebranded Moras, so those are good.

Well a few years back I did a trade with a friend in Oslo, Norway. I sent him a Leatherman PST II and he sent me 4 Mora knives and 2 cans of snus(General and Göteborgs ****.)

That trolley is so AWESOME, Bart! What year did they start making the plastic top piece? Or have they always been plastic?

I like how you have your sockets standing up with the mat. I need to do something like that in my 190. Got any pics of yours open and organized?
