Nice, Bart! Those needlenose are next on my list. I should be getting my long flex head ratchet in any day now!

8816G is the part number for the long flexhead 3/8". According to the 2010 catalog, it is listed as 276mm long. The regular 3/8" ratchets (8816P, 8816F, 8816S) are all 199mm long.

The 916LG goes up to 590mm! That's 120mm longer than the 1/2" breaker bar. Catalog says max. torque for that ratchet is 600nm. If my math is right, that's over 440 ft lbs. Yikes.

I'm working on motorcycles mostly so I don't need anything that big but that thing is a brute!

Went to Bauhaus today. I was going to buy this:

Bauhaus branded Mora, a simple hard handle model. 3 for 100 SEK.
But when i was there i also saw that they had a clearance sale (50%) on a lot of Wicent items. I took these these lineman's pliers (125mm and 180mm), made in Germany.

There was more pliers, but i'm low on tool spending money right now
I also bought a 6mm hex bit socket, 1/2" and 17mm WGB wrench, both made in Germany.

A total of 212 SEK (€24 $34) for three Swedish made knifes and four German tools. A good day! I'm already regretting not buying more though...

EDIT:
I got a bit suspicious of the wrench. The label doesn't say "Made in Germany". Is this just a "We mark it with Germany because we are a German company" thing?

has anyone ever researched the feasibility of trading with our European brothers? Like, I go buy the SO they want and they buy the Beta that I want and we each ship to each other, just as an example. Does that make it cheaper than ordering/importing/taxes, etc? Or is it not worth it?

I am digging the Stahlwille products. I am ordering from sam Stags They ship the same day. I have received all of my stuff in two days. I do not care if they are more $$.

I ordered one 1/4" 14MM socket and they charged 8.30 to ship. I called and spoke to them and they could care less even when I asked if they would like to pay 8.30 to ship one 1/4 inch socket. They would not even refund the difference for actual shipping!!!!!!!!

Stahlwille tools are one of my favorites. I have three of their torque wrenches (730N) and have been very happy with them, easily the best in the world.

I also had some major issues with Baum Tools. I called them and placed an order for a 725qr 1/4" ratchet head. They ended up sending me a torque wrench as well. I had to call and let them know I did not order the torque wrench. They wanted to charge me 20% restocking fee ! After some arguing they agreed not to charge 20% restocking, but I had to pay for shipping back to them. Live and learn. Samstag is good, but pricy. Try primetools.co.uk. Very good prices and shipping is about 2 weeks.

Here are my latest purchases. I found some good deals on Beta tools at Amazon and I could not pass them up. I also got some Wiha micro screwdriver set. This week I finally got some of the Facom modules and the micro torx screwdrivers I had ordered some weeks ago.

I saw that file cleaner and esp. the rivet kit. Wish I would've gotten that kit.

I used the rivet gun to repair my Snap on tool box and it worked great. I think it is a good deal since it includes everything you need and it was fairly cheap at $32.

What's the country of origin on the items of the kit?

If you want something rustproof Knipex offers chrome plated pliers, NWS also has chrome plated pliers (the ones with black/yellow handles), the NWS pliers with the grey color are "Teflon" coated so they should be rust proof too. So thats a 1:1. I only do light duty jobs (cut copper cable) for heavy duty i use Knipex mini bolt cutters, cable shears etc. The NWS pliers seem to cut slightly better, i don´t know why, maybe sharper blade or maybe its just the Teflon coating so the blade "glides" better through the cable/wire. So thats 2:1 for NWS. I also like the (old) handles better so thats a 3:1 for NWS But the handle shape/feel is subjective. Other consumers prefer dipped handles so its up to you to decide.

I haven't used thier fine tooth one yet, but it is the same as Facom and others. I hope to get a fine tooth 1/4" drive. The 3/8" has 32 teeth or something like that. Not fine tooth at all, but I have never heard anyone complain about them as far as a traditional ratchet.

Also got this. Usually the full size ones are US made.

Also stopped in Lowes and they had a Bosch corded drill on sale for $123ish so I hope to get it soon... Also I seen the new Bosch jigsaw and the box says assembled in Switzerland but the label says its made there. It doesn't come close to the 1590EVSK...

The only tools with county of origin on that photo are the wrenches and chisels (Italy). None of the other items have it listed anywhere. Nothing on the tool or outside packaging. Regardless of that fact, they are all very well made.
