Nice Picard Monte.

Thank you !
Thanks also for the many pics !!!!!!!!

Thanks Monte, I love them too; if you wish to see lots of cars you can come to visit the "salón internacional del automóvil" (international motor trade fair) here in Barcelona, 14-22 of May, and the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix at the same weekend.

Too far away :)

I like a dark brown wood handle very nice one:thumbup:
thanks bro for a nice pics:beer:
Btw: im not a autobody mechanic but i know this is a very good stuff:thumbup:

yeah looks sweet with the dark Hickory handle

Man, talk about a government gift to the repair industry and the new car makers... I guess that is one way they keep their unemployment figures lower...

good idea huh ? :)

What about "Old tools from the old world?"
Here's one I got recently, two speed Metabo two speed drill, age unknown.

Cost about five quid (I'm saying about as I bought loads of other stuff at the same time and the bloke only gave me a price for the lot) and although it could do with a clean up, I think its worth it..

You can see here that in order to change the gearing on it, you just connect the cranking handle up to a different spindle, easy.

I recently purchased a bunch of Hazet wrenches. They are quite cheap these days on evilbay. Quite nice to hold. Totally different feel to Stahlwille and Nepros. That said they are great!

I picked up this GEDORE 1/2" drive Whitworth & AF socket set today, pretty sure I won't have much use for it but I couldn't resist as it was quite inexpensive (€50). Some of the items seem poorly finished and the ratchet driver is pretty basic, although I believe it is quite rugged and I like the speed brace as I didn't have one before now!

That's awesome, I'd love to find a Whitworth set like that!

Nice! I have an AF set in a box like that and as with yours the finish leaves a little to be desired on some items but it sure can take a serious beating. The t-handle has a slight bend from when one of my friends put a long cheater bar on it and jumped on it until he discovered that that one bolt had left handed threads. :lol_hitti

Thanks for the feedback on the Gedore set guys, in my own set the AF sockets are painted blue internally and the Whitworth are red.

The more I look at it the more I drool. Heck of a buy for €50. Local buy or?

I bought my set in 86/87 I think, at a local hardware store and it was around €200 with 20% off.

Hi North, I bought this Gedore set from a tool dealer in Dublin city centre, "new" old stock, it has been on display in the shop window for months. Not much call for it nowadays I suppose but €50 was a very fair price for a new and unused set like this, I think.

T20 I like those Gedore pliers you posted!!!!:drool::thumbup:
I have a pair of Hazet pliers that I posted a little while back in this thread, they look identical to the bent ones except they have yellow handles instead of blue. Of course they say Hazet insted of Gedore.

I really like the bent one. I can't remember your post unfortunately. I'm sure I don't know the whole thread. It's just too big now. They might be from the same manufacturer.

The grip of your "unknown" angled plier looks similar to some pliers I have. Might be Orbis or Will.

I have that same Knipex Sidecutter. It obviously suffered a bit from my usage.

The best deal on quality pliers I have seen in a long time. I believe Monte said they were made by Orbis for Pratt-Read. They all needed some cleaning and a little WD-40 as they seem to have been in storage for a while. Excellent quality and for the price they are impossible to beat.

Hey that pair of Hazet pliers is on page 159 post #3179. They even have that same paper tag under the handle like yours do.

The Knipex side cutters were still in the box when I recieved them, they are now my favorite cutters that I own!

Thanks for the hint dlfiene! Yes, they are equal. Only the handle differs. Great tool!

Here's a Pohlhaus that looks similar to your "noname" pliers.

If I remember correctly, HEYCO is a OEM manufacturer. They makes wrenches for WIHA and OEM wrenches for BMW and Mercedes auto kits.

My tools are rather new. Those are actually from my father. I didn't even know he had them. I saw them for the first time last week when I was looking for something else at his house. I took them along with a few other pliers and the following Haupa for our little photographic record here. :)
But you can bet I will use them after I've swiped them ... :bounce:

@Monte:

What is your opinion about Rhodius(Braintools disc) and Heller.

Confirmed, Acesa and Irazola disappear as a brand, but maintain their production,Acesa incorporates its Bahco, and Irazola incorporates in Palmera.
