I am very intrigued about the internals of that Hazet.. so it only allows for one direction of ratcheting? I can tell it's older, but how do you remove things with it then? Or put things on! Which ever it does now.. the opposite. You get what I'm saying >_>

So I just said I was heading up Sears (Even though I'm "not allowed" to buy tools at the moment :D) and got these pruners... but not for me! For my mom. And then the purchase is OK for some reason :D haha

They're really good. Like seriously! Made in Finland too :) She has arthritis big time so I figured they would help a lot, and they're very easy to use. Sorry for the bad pics ^_^

I need a pair of those. :)

Heres the old ones that are my moms.

I have a pair of their scissors in lefty.

Me too. Also I have quite a few of the regular ones.

I like Fiskars products. The Finnish and American made items are really good quality.

I see... a screwdriver, a drill, a box-end wrench with an opening as big as the drills casing, and.. an oiler? It's bigger than the drill! Hammer looks alright.

Wonder how many ft/lbs that wrench can handle because it's a box-end...? :D

Ok guys, help me with this one!

Received a few Hazet wrenches, and with them were a few labeled "BAUM".

These wrenches came with some equipment that came from Germany, but I've never heard, nor have I found anything on the "BAUM" brand.

Can you help me???

Nothing you guys haven't seen before...but I'm excited about them.

I'm still trying to find a place to purchase a Reilang oiler. I emailed the company last week but still haven't gotten a response. Maybe I need to work on my German :)

As of today you can order the complete range of Swiss made Reilang oilers from me. I ship worldwide.

@ultgar:
do you know where the Prevost couplers + air guns are made ?

I think that's what you said, it was somewhere in the early pages of this topic.

I sure wish I could find stuff like that at my local flea markets! I need more German ratchets for my collection.

ratchets are very seldom at the flea markets here....it seems the DIY user can do everything with a set of wrenches :)

Wow thats old school. Is it from the 80s? Also I suddenly remembered having a small assortment of mechanics tools from Denmark.

yeah must be from the 80´s

Damn, I wish I could find my legos!

hey you have nice hand tools to play with :)

I wonder how to use such small tools. :headscrat :lol_hitti

Do you still play with Lego ? :D

Ok guys, help me with this one!

never heard of Baum tools (except the one in the US). How does the other side of the wrench look like ?

@mrtools : Nice review + nice pics. Hazet do look strong and are very nicely finished. They give the feeling of lifetime tools:thumbup:
:thumbup::beer:

Thanks for the pics mrtools. :thumbup: Love that Tone ratchet.
I just browsed through the Tone online catalog and noticed that they have a tool line called Fine Tool with similar design to Tone but much more expensive. Are the Fine Tool tools that much better?
And those stainless steel sets looks :drool::drool::drool:
You are welcome!:beer:You mean this?

A Fine tools 1/2" socket set
280720113571.jpg

Fine tools socket series with a knurling:thumbup:
280720113572.jpg

theoretically Fine Tools series is much better than a standard series..Fine Tools series stand for a specially beauty design tools and maybe a good and smooth finishing..:pimpflash
I cannot said anything about Fine Tools series, I have no experience with those tools but it looks awesome in catalog.:thumbup:
Btw:stainless steel and titan tools series looks awesome too.:shocking::drool:

@Trucky
Nice find!, Good boy:thumbup:

Here are some photos of my Hazet 916 1/2 drive ratchet. First, the outside of the ratchet:
Next, a view of it disassembled:
And finally, the mechanism:
The back side of the drive gear is hollow.

Very nice ratchet + PICS :drool::drool:

You are welcome!! :D:D:beer:
actually it not a camera..as usual, I used my cell phone to take a PICS, I don't have a opportunity to buy a real camera cause most of my RM I spend to my tools interest.

Nice Flex! It good than your old Bosch?

@Monte or Jens : All new Reilang are Swiss made ?

i don´t know, the internet says that the swiss company "Ernst Hausammann" bought the german company Reilang in 2006. I think they nowadays produce solely in switzerland in "Domdidier":

@Monte, Gorgeous new grinder. :bowdown: I particulary like this grey "hammered" finish. Very oldschool:thumbup:
btw, for what kind of works do you need a 180 ?

@Moji, welome onboard. I've got almost the same Felco pruner, a gift from my uncle, many years ago. Still works like a charm.

Hi, I don't want to make you angry or sad, but I know something more about the Baum brand. It is the cheapest and lowest quality sort of tools, sold in "Globus" supermarkets here in Czech Republic. For the first look, all the Baum tools seem to be made in Germany and they surely look cool. But for closer look they are the biggest **** from China I ever seen. Last week in Globus I saw Baum combination pliers, side-cut pliers, adjustable wrenches, open-end wrenches and many more. The quality of all these tools was really horrible. In fact that all the pliers were well (too much) oiled, there were visible rust spots on most of pieces, pliers jaws didn't fit together on every piece, adjustable wrenches couldn't be from steel because of their suspicious lightweight, and they have big jaws play. Only the open-end wrenches seemed to be normal, but I would never spend 1 cent for any Baum tool after seeing the rest of their production. Simply it's typical "like-german", very low quality product made in China. I'm sorry for my opinion :headscrat but run away from any Baum tool!

since you study german: try to understand this:
:)
(Low german)

You are so mean :lol_hitti, I even have problems understanding Hochdeutsch and you come in with Plattdeutsch, I have only understood single words ;).
Btw, ich lerne nur Deutsch, aber studiere es nicht :bounce:

ok you want Schlager here it is:
:thumbup: :D :thumbup: :D :thumbup: :D :thumbup: :D :thumbup:

Arrrrrgggggg, that is one of the songs we had to listen this year complete ****, but I remember one that was even worst, something in black and white called "Paella Valenciana" or something similar :puke::monkey_po

1# I use Gimp, and it has way more features than I will ever use. Similar to Photoshop. I am sure this can be done with Gimp.

I'm with you, I use Photoshop and it has way more features than I will ever know of; Gimp will surely have such option, but the problem is where is it?

2# Good idea. I used to dual boot windows and linux. But today it is easy to use virtual machines to play with. :)

I've been using virtual machines for quite a long time (as an end user only), and they come in handy for testing.

3#Yes, but it will take time. And when BAUHAUS opens it will probably trash the competitors.

Hope it will be soon :thumbup:

4# Yes, it seems - if they ship to EU they are willing to ship to Iceland. If they only ship to Germany they usually do not answer requests. Perfectly understandable, but IMO the loose money since German tools have great demand worldwide.

They usually answer, whether is it for a "sure we ship to Spain" or "we only ship to Germany", but most of them answer.

yeah it´s my new most favourite tool :)

I don´t really "need" one :D right now it was more a "want have" but it was only 105.- € + tax and the master plan is to own one of every tool :) It´s also one of the best grinders made i think ;) style + design is perfect too. Made in a old school way with metal motor housing, glossy plastic and "light switch" on/off switch. I don´t like the new fancy safety on/off switches. The tool was discontinued in 2010 so i had to buy it now.....or never......:)

I could use it with a cleaning disc to remove paint or scale and rust from large steel bars or old "ladder-frame" car frames. Wire wheel to remove rust, cut larger I-beams or square material, grind welds with the grinding wheel, flap wheel or fiber disc and things like that. Maybe to cut stones etc. but i guess 230mm is the right tool for that... now i have to find a Flex L 2106 VC... :)

Those Baum tools look so nice at the photos - but reality is far far away from those shiny pictures. Their products are very cheap (for example 160mm combi-pliers for 2Eur), so when I go to Globus again, I will buy a sample only for the reason of taking some photos for this forum to see the crapability of it :mad:

25Kč = 1Eur
