they are made in Ger? if yep i'm pretty sure that i will find em in bauhaus, btw what i have to look on soldering iron before i buy it? how to know which one is good?
What are you going to do with it?
About ten years ago I got gas iron kit and since then I have hardly ever used anything else. Unless I am fixing or modifying car radiators or something "big" and need more heat flow.

I do not have it at hand for the moment to take pics so I am just linking online images.

gas_tek.jpg

It doubles as a mini-torch and as such it pumps out enough energy to solder connectors to battery leads and even two 50q leads together! And works well for everything less. This one is a little big for electronics work - still nice all-around unit and has served me well. (be aware some of the el-cheap'os out there are just plane junk and even dangerous)
-------

Another thing I want to mention:
For many years auto- and hardware stores here in Iceland have been selling solder, some of which is nearly useless for soldiering the "run of the mill" "copper" wire found in almost every car. Wrong material composition for "copper" Actually I have come across auto-mechanics who have given up trying to solder wires cause of this - they have been using wrong or bad solder all along.

I always use 60/40 mix and preferably this one with "grease" inside:
tin.jpg

Compared to some of the stuff sold locally this is a game changer. And some people can -out of the blue- suddenly solder what ever they want using this.

You are so mean :lol_hitti, I even have problems understanding Hochdeutsch and you come in with Plattdeutsch, I have only understood single words ;).

:D don´t worry i only understand half of that or less....

Btw, ich lerne nur Deutsch, aber studiere es nicht :bounce:

freiwillig ? :headscrat :D

Arrrrrgggggg, that is one of the songs we had to listen this year complete ****, but I remember one that was even worst, something in black and white called "Paella Valenciana" or something similar :puke::monkey_po

:) hey that song is part of the german culture.... :) now you can sing it and clap with your hands to the beat :D

Those Baum tools look so nice at the photos - but reality is far far away from those shiny pictures. Their products are very cheap (for example 160mm combi-pliers for 2Eur), so when I go to Globus again, I will buy a sample only for the reason of taking some photos for this forum to see the crapability of it
25Kč = 1Eur

ok their prices are veeeeeery low.... so you can´t expect much....
ps: Don´t waste your money :)

@Jure:
nice Sola tools ! :pimpflash

Just came back from the local "Praktiker" big box store. They were clearing out all Weller products. This is what i got:

@Monte or Jens : All new Reilang are Swiss made ?

I have ordered all available oilers in aluminum today and I will let you know as soon as they arrive what they have stamped on them.

The Reilang rep who visited me today showed me some samples and they are quite impressive. They have a very high pressure pump that also works upside down, so you can use them at any angle. They also have spray heads to work with WD40 et al.

They also make plastic oilers, but I don't think that they are too cool ;-)

The tool was discontinued in 2010 so i had to buy it now.....or never......:)[/IMG]

Understood:thumbup:

Monte, since you've got a better eye than me, could you please explain main differences you've noticed between Reiland's pump system and the Pressol one you showed some weeks/month ago ?

@Jens, ok for a futur review about Reiland , also once you get them, could you be so kind to post a pair of pics ?

@Jure, Some weller are still made in Germany. Do a search on GJ, you'll find pics with COO.

:shocking: :shocking: wow pallets of tools :shocking: :shocking: :pimpflash

@ Bhae: but one question: Why offer 4 similar brands ? KS Tools, Toptul, BGS, Mannesmann ?

Monte, since you've got a better eye than me, could you please explain main differences you've noticed between Reiland's pump system and the Pressol one you showed some weeks/month ago ?

The Pressol industrial oiler is comparable to the Reilang "Merkur", but i only have the Reilang "Standard" version which has no swivel suction tube and only single acting pump instead of double for example

Pressol:

http://www.pressol.com/portal/page/...itemDetails&ShowId=1729&cat=45&dspMode=Detail

Reilang:
http://www.hausammann.com/katalog/e...umpenoeler_und_Selbstschlussoeler_045-053.pdf

My weller was made in Eire(Ireland.) I wonder is the dutch one available here? If not I might be getting an English made one soon(one clue its yellow...)

yellow weller ?

Also, nice toptul gear! Is the hickory hammer Taiwan?

No problem, tomorrow more pics of BGS :bounce:.

i think yes, Taiwan hammer.

@Monte:

I think each one offers things that others do not.

I seek to offer what customers ask me, not sell what I have. If someone wants a set of wrenches Toptul, we get the set of wrenches Toptul not the set of wrenches that is similar in KSTOOLS.

Because in my opinion are not similar:

Mannesmann low prices, low quality in general catalog, low-mid in green line.
BGS low prices, superior quality in some items in front of Mannesmann. It also has tools for automotive Mannesmann has not.
KSTOOLS: regular price, superior quality compared to Mannesmann. Superior quality compared to BGS (some items are similar). Best presentation, best finishes and most importantly a very extensive catalog.
TOPTUL: regular price, good quality, excellent presentation, excellent finishes, good service from Toptul Spain, excellent combination wrenches for example.
I just like Toptul haha. :bounce:

And sorry for my English :(

yeah, i read felcos outlast their owners :D

we'll not be waiting for your obit to find out: i've seen some 50 years old that were used by the grand-daughters of the original purchaser on roses and mimosas(and some even older Pradines ones too!)

Well I wanted some Wolverine Buckeye boots.. got the "HELL NO!" on that purchase attempt. So I just said I was heading up Sears (Even though I'm "not allowed" to buy tools at the moment :D) and got these pruners... but not for me! For my mom. And then the purchase is OK for some reason :D haha

good boy!

I like Fiskars products. The Finnish and American made items are really good quality.

do you think they were made in the Gerber plant in Oregon?

it´s my first 7" /180 mm angle grinder, i have a 5" (125 mm) Bosch which is a very good and strong power tool.

Monte, i hate you! really! :D

Since when RIDGID tools are made in Germany??? Or I got wrong?:shocking:

Their jigsaws used to be made there.

do you think they were made in the Gerber plant in Oregon?

I never thought about that... Seems too high quality for Gerber to have made it... I tried it today on a job and it works very well. :)

Heres my only old world item today.

today i found a Gedore 3093 U3 3/8" fine-toothed rat on a curbside for 5 euros(along with 4 Facom 82 7, 8, 9 & 10mm hex wrenches), missing a retainer and in dire need of a thorough clean-up and some tender greasy luvin' care...:spit:

looks like it has been my training before doing TjoFrasse Gedore swivel-head rat! :lol_hitti

I like that box wish other companies still used those.

Agree. In the US sockets and ratchets are mostly sold as single items and you have to fiddle around with socket rails and "Stanley" boxes or just have your stuff flying around in the drawers of your snapon cart.

I prefer to have a ratchet set in a dedicated box, that I can grab and go to the job and find everything in place without having to search.
