Locking pliers, I need suggestions!
Local stores carry Irwin, even few USA made Irwin's left for "bargain" price, about $33 for 6-7" pliers. While it is not important to beat this price I think I could get good (even better) quality on ebay. Any old world ideas? :pimpflash

www.scangrip.dk www.grip-on.com www.bollmanngrip.de www.wezag.de www.urbo-werkzeuge.de www.facom.com www.knipex.de www.outillage-roux.com www.gedore.com Stahlwille, Hazet... :)

@mrtools :bowdown: Let me know what you think of Vario, I am on the verge of buying a handle and a few blades!
Sorry for the late answers your question :D
Good news I think you should buy it, Vario is my favorite reversible blade screwdriver now. A handle fit and comfortable to my hand, plus it has a awesome tips whatever Philips or flat it perfectly fits to a screw heads. A tips never show any sign of wear or chipped. Just a black oxide color seem to be a little bit dim. A hexagon 6mm blade so tough. I love it and it worth it:thumbup:

@mrtools : Nice pics and nice Enushiki:drool: Typical Japanese tool and handle design. Is it your snip ? How old is it ?
It not mine, a snips belong to my company I just used it for my everyday jobs. Actually I don't know how old is it maybe around 5 years:)

Here are pictures of Asahi Light Tool Double boxend wrenches 10mm to 19mm...
Woww!! very nice Asahi Light Tool:drool:

Can ;).
@Mrtools:
Thanks!
Good acceptance for clients demand proffesional tools.
:thumbup:
How about a prices for Snap On tools compare to high quality Germany tools?

Koken has been sold here, on and off for over 25 years. But I am not sure we have Koken dealer so to speak. Icelandic wurth dealer is selling koken. Judging by prices everything they sell is made of gold - so I never shop there. I got this Japanese haul from levelchrome.com
First a little size comparison:
1/2" no-name joint
1/2" Koken
3/8" Facom
3/8" Koken

Vessel screwdrivers + bits.
"Super" and Engineer pliers:
Thanks!!!:beer:
very nice tools + PICS:drool::drool::drool:

More pics:
My favourite wire stripper (and cutter), I just smile if someone offers me "automatic" one:
I would really like to know who makes this. I would also like Knipex or NWS to take a shot at this design.
Very nice design:thumbup:
like my Japan Shell cable cutter

@Automatique:
these are my other "Black blades" in 18mm. Very sharp too:
Nice black blades:thumbup:

Nope, sorry. I've just got this old Mitutoyo :
Awesome:thumbup:
how old this caliper?

Some new purchases for me. These ones are bart1's fault! :D
Stahlwille flex 3/8" sockets:
Stahlwille 12-point 3/8" sockets:
Congratulation very nice shopping:drool::thumbup:

:shocking:
Awesome snips mrtools! :shocking:
:thumbup:
Thanks!!:beer:

There you go:
The box. Disappointed with the lack of plastic case as I have to carry the thing with me on sites.
Made in Germany
The switch and the rpm controls. Not sure how long they'll last as they look and feel rather cheap.
The handle looks and feels rather cheap. Anti vibration handle would have been better.
Awesome:drool::drool::thumbup:

@Olafur:

Those Koken u-joints look awesome. How well do they work? Seems to me that they might be easier to turn smoothly than regular u-joints.

I was about to order them from levelchrome but they appear to only have the 3/8" and 1/2". I want the 3/8 and the 1/4... Anybody know of a source for both?

I think the pic I quoted drowned out my question... ;)

They had a bunch of never been touched West Germany stuff , i picked up a channellock type and a basic plier but there was also a stack of 4 inch adjustable wrenches also untouched in boxes.I would say there was at least 10 boxes of each , the price was 10 dollars for the channellock type and 5 dollars for the basic plier.

Also picked up some other new old stock they had in the form of 'Betts" wood chisel for $5.This is made in Sheffield - they had maybe 15 of these ,they also had tin shears by same manufacturer for $10 with around 20 of them just lying there.

I had never heard of 'Betts' until now , if anyone knows where i can pick up Betts tools online please let me know , their main site is just for distributors/retailers and not for direct sale to solitary customer.

Mmm. The hat. The hat. Where can I get the hat?

Normally I don't like to wear commercial hats - why should I provide free advertising for them? But Knipex is sufficiently obscure here in the states that I could justify it...

Not anymore!

Found a lot of Knipex tools in our local Lowes.

Didn't take any pictures though in case they have access to the security camera's footage from Bauhaus.

Nice sthalwille haul. I wonder why these are discontinued.. lack of "flank" drive profile perhaps?

Yes, perhaps. If someone is able to get a new catalog we'll see what replaced them. Feels a bit bad that I never will be able to get a 17mm though.

from the UK ? :)

Yep. And a new package arrived from there today. I'll post pics soon.

Thanks!

Hey, I've been blamed for worse. Hope ya love 'em. The Stahl sockets are kinda ****, aren't they?

Well, you're in good company also when it comes to people making me spend money on tools...

The Stahlwilles are nice. Don't see myself buying a whole set though, if I'll be spending those kinds of money it'll be on Hazet.

That is a great find! Super cool! :drool:

They work well. Smooth even at full angle. I am almost sure my regular one's will stay in the drawer from now on. Not sure if Koken makes 1/4"

Thanks! That's what I thought when I saw the design.

Koken does make a 1/4". Part number is 2771. Sadly, I can't find a source... :(

@catfish : Very nice find:thumbup: Keep the boxes.

@MogeraCND : Beautiful knife:drool: Do you know anything about the grade of the steel ? Also, is it made from one kind of steel or several ?

@Duarte : Nice pics and nice pliers : Simple and reliable Knipex:thumbup:

@mrtools : Excellent drivers collection:beer: I've never consider those reversible blades drivers, maybe i'll change my mind thanks to your pics...

@Bhae : oulala:bowdown: Gorgeous oldschool Fisco, does it says "Made in England" somewhere ? Do you have any pics of the tape ?

@Monte : Nice knife Monte:thumbup: your little review/pics make it more attractiv than Knipex use to do trough their website or catalogue. Maybe they should visit "GJ" from time to time...

@All : Anybody knows the COO of this small plastic BMI level ?

:)

You know I can't argue with that logic!

Yeah, but a nice Hazet collection like yours is far away..

Same here, although not sure if I want the 3/8 zyklop or 3/8 Hazet set..decisions decisions..
Zyclop seems cool, but a big head. I have the Hazet for normal use and an FLF80 and breaker bar for other 3/8" applications.

I have the Wera 3/8" (just ratchet and some sockets, not a complete set :( ), and have to agree that the head is big. That's the deal with swivel heads. If you need a general use ratchet, the Wera might not be optimal.

Nice collection! Is the Wera the favorite?

As promised earlier, my latest tools from tradesmanschoice:

Whia fold out. Was on sale, said to have the finish "a little tarnished". Bought it without knowing how bad they would be. Happy to see that it's hardly visible.

Stahlwille bi-square flex socket wrench. Was cheap and said to work on Honda breaks. I'll give it to a friend who is a Honda tech. It's probably not for the ones he works most on, but still :)
IMG_0869.jpg

Starett blades. Made in Germany, straight and hook, 10 of each.

Caliper, was very cheap for Made in Japan. Couldn't resist :)

Which one is your favourite ?

Awesome!! Knipex insulated knife:drool:

nooooo don´t worry :) i only need it for "dead" cable :) The traditional cable knives they had were not "Made in Germany" so i took this one from Knipex. Comes with a nice ergonomic handle too, the others not :)

@Monte: The description say "outdoor knife..." but i may use it as letter opener.:wtf:

What´s the story of that knife ? It looks very interesting !

@Monte : Nice knife Monte:thumbup: your little review/pics make it more attractiv than Knipex use to do trough their website or catalogue. Maybe they should visit "GJ" from time to time...

:) yeah they can take my pics :D ;)

theoretically it should be from germany ? :)

So they'll be satin blue? And brushed, not sprayed?

Yes, semi gloss/semi matte/silk mat (?) "Enzian Blau" ("gentian violet") RAL 5010.
Yes brushed - don´t has to be beautiful, the paint won´t last forever anyway so it´s easier to repair the paint. The primer was brushed too. Ugly but sufficient :)
