That's a really good comparison photo. I have inch sizes in 14 series and absolutely love them. I have looked for a matching metric set but can only find 13. Those photos make me definitely want to hold out for a 14 set, even if I get them individually. I've not really found a situation where I couldn't fit a 14, so going smaller doesn't seem a necessity either.

Here is a UK seller. offering 14 series. You could also check out ebay.de, I have found sellers there offering shipping to Europe.

Today I present my PICQUIC screwdrivers (I've seen a picture or comment related to them in this thread), though not made ​​in the old world, are an excellent alternative for those cases where no sufficient space to load multiple screwdrivers .

Note: The pictures belong to 08/28/2011 nevertheless had not noticed that the camera had no set date.

Thank you. That is the place I bought my AF set from, but I haven't checked back there in ages. I think come pay day I'll have a matching metric set :D

Before you go jumping in to get a metric set from there I have to say that after a breif check of their 126.00 quid metric set I can say that its overpriced. I can get the same set minus the 8 mm for 80 quid elsewhere.

Where's that from? :D

£80 is more in the region of what I paid for my AF set. I've never seen a Metric set, or set made from individuals, that low.

@jalfaro. I really like the bit storage solution on those screwdrivers.

Definitely, initially bought the SIXPAC PLUS to corroborate if it was worth, and immediately saw that the storage system has a strong magnet that keeps bits in place, no matter if the screwdriver down, or even if the bits are lubricated. In general, these types of screwdrivers (with built-in storage of bits) are my favorites.

I hate to plug businesses but I think this company is worth a plug since their prices are the best in the UK for Stahlwille wrenches in my opinion.
A couple of the sizes of the 14`s are out of stock but I`m sure if a couple of us from here send them emails they will soon restock sharpish.
Model 14 metric, 10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19 = 80.57 quid
If your really want the size 8mm then the sell model 13 8mm for about a fiver.

Thanks for the link dave26, I'll have a look! I have my current metric set for the very small and very large sizes, so a Stahlwille set covering the core sizes would be ideal

@ ricleh, have you tried both sets of wrenches yet ? If yes, what are your first thoughts about them ? The Hazet set are ******** looking and I`m so tempted to get their 12pc or 17pc metric set before the weekend.

remember that they tested the "weak" Stahlwille Open Box 13 wrenches. The Open Box 14 have the same jaw thickness than Hazet 600N.

The test is in German so please correct me if I am wrong but it looks to me like Snap-on wrenches are seriously overpriced going by these results alone.

Needless to say Hazet and Stahlwille are very good tools. I think they are on par with my Snapon tools. Nepros, however, is in its own league IMO. For fit, finish and functionality I would definitely choose Nepros.

Monte, are you sure these shears are made from Stainless/Rostfrei ? Afaik, Bessey makes their high end snips solely from superior HSS steel, :headscrat

PS : Nice scraper :thumbup: my local store sells some Martor stuff, gonna ask them tomorrow if they stock this tool:)

I'm in Japan right now... And dang if the Yen to USD wasn't so baaaaaad, I would snag one of those KTC Carts. For the most part I can get everything cheaper through Nepros.net/KTC, FranksTools, or Levelchrome.

I really like Stahlwille wrenches :beer:

My wife made me buy her a pink one!

Really :)?, also the pink one was the first that my wife saw when I showed her the catalog, but said I could choose the light blue one :bounce:, I'm sure it crossed his mind to buy pink one, then possibly buy it for her too :thumbup:

I also have the bits and ratchet and really like them. The longer flex bit ratchet is also nice (and quite handy). The flex action could be slightly smoother, though.

yes the high end models are made with HSS cutting edges and a TIN coating, the slightly cheaper ones come with HSS cutting edges without TIN then follows "Special high grade steel" and "High grade steel" which in the german catalog are listed as "Edelstahl spezial" ("special stainless steel") and "Edelstahl" ("Stainless steel")

here´s the link to the snips: D17ASS(L) with High grade steel forged head and D17A(L) with High grade steel head. They are only "normal grade" shears but have the highest cutting capacity of 2 mm in steel with 400N/mm² (1.5mm in 600N/mm²). The Format brand shears with the green handle are the Bessey D17ASS(L), the Format shears with the blue handles are the Bessey D17A(L).
