My 18V Li-Ion Makita is made in Japan but surprisingly both my Bosch cordless drills are made in Malesia. :wtf:

I didn't check where this garage stool was made but it does match the trolleys nicely ;)

This morning I bought a case for my wife's cell phone, and suddenly from one of the "AMAZON recommendations" I found this WIHA brand pliers, although I have thought buy a KNIPEX model, also took advantage and bought this to testing, both its low price, as well as being branded WIHA

In good theory come next week

I got this from Amazon after seeing one in this thread.

When I got it I sensed something wasn't right, then I seen this.

IMGP2240.jpg

WTF :wtf: Its supposed to be made in France. I normally have no problems with Malaysian products but I wanted French made on this item. Also the batterys were made in China instead of USA or Belgique. :(

You´re welcome guys

now i´m awaiting your exhibition pics ! :D ;)

After doing some detective work it appears that model is for sale here.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000789HT/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Now if its made in Japan and not China.

this one is made in Japan too:
http://www.makita.com/en-us/Modules/Tools/ToolDetails.aspx?ID=315

iirc this one too:
http://www.makita.com/en-us/Modules/Tools/ToolDetails.aspx?ID=401

this one is made in USA (at least over here...)
http://www.makita.com/en-us/Modules/Tools/ToolDetails.aspx?ID=316437

there are more "Made in Japan" tools like more expensive rotary hammers, angle drill (corded + cordless), die grinders, metal shears, recip saw, iirc certain belt sanders and planers too. Not the ones with the low prices though - that´s clear.

I didn't check where this garage stool was made but it does match the trolleys nicely ;)

nice picture !

Also the batterys were made in China instead of USA or Belgique. :(

:shocking:
...which luckily could be replaced with some Sanyo Eneloops from Japan :) ;)

Nice vice(err vise) grips. :)
:thumbup::beer:

Excellent acquisitions Mrtools

This ratchet screwdriver be definitively worth it for the mere fact of being stored for so long and not have changes or alterations (and because it is VESSEL brand, of course). On the other hand, you're lucky to get the pliers "VISE GRID" still made in USA, since lately I've been trying to get some in the local market that belongs to an old stock but it was not possible.

Err..no one care or know how to used this ratchet screwdriver after a 11 years display in a rack suddenly a crazy tools man take it for a better place..

Thanks God all Vise Grid in my local tools store here stamp Made in USA:thumbup:

Last week I needed pliers pressure, so I searched the old tool box of my dad and found some interesting things:
Pressure pliers Vise-Grid (the knob fit indicates that the patent is pending)
Two wrenches, a 1/2" Stanley made in USA, and other 7/8" and 15/16" does not indicate the country of origin, only the name "Weyersberg" is stamped (from what I've seen can be German but I have not investigated further, sorry)
Hazet extension (1/2")
Hero socket (1")

Great to see old tools here..
awesome treasure hunter.. did you know how old the Vise Grid?
thanks to share a pics:thumbup::beer:

or "VONOS" Very Old New Old Stock :) ;)
Awesome tools you found !! The ratcheting screwdriver looks very nice, the MTC pliers look fantastic and even a old pair of USA vice grips  Nice haul

..

Go with the TRG. Even with its CIP chamber its very good. Cannot get much tighter without going custom.

Here is a quick Fiskars get together from my kitchen, more around the house, garden, garage, shed etc.

I would love to have a new PSG-1

Mine is just 1974 G3 which I upgraded bit by bit and now its quite nice. Have some Steyers etc. but maybe well get into those in some other thread. ;)

I bought a new torque wrench today to complete my set (had a gap between two wrenches I had). A Kamasa 20-110NM. Again a Swedish brand but made in TW.

Thank you mrtools, good question, I will ask my father how old can this pliers, as they do not know exactly, but for now you could say unequivocally that no less than 30 years

Old Tohnichi torque screwdriver:)

...

 mrtools,

A question, What is the torque range of the screwdriver?

So, Beta Italy...

Old Double opend end wrenches or "Beta 55"

Great Unknow82, I've always liked the opend end wrenches, due to the decrease of space when storing or transporting

Now something odd (beside being a non-Beta tool...)

Just bought this one and belive it is VW/Porsche valve tool?

Since Dowidat is no more, I would say it is pre 1986.
Very well made tool and you can see that it is compleatly hand made from 19mm tool taken from line and modifided before coated and tempered. Dowidat worker had even milled out original "19" from tool. you can see that original tool got no theeth in ring and 13mm socket machined in ring does not have 1/2" squer inside.
Rotating "srewdriver" is made from tool material, not from screwdriver, but handel is similar to Dowidat scredriver.
Very nice tool, almost makes me buy Porsche, to be able use this one.

This is from Hammerite website;
Durable, corrosion resistant decorative coating for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, certain plastics and wood. Decorative hammered appearance is smooth to the touch and sheds water well.

Can be applied directly onto rusty metal.
No need for primer or undercoat.
Corrosion resistant
.
Hammerite forms a superior barrier that not only seals out moisture but gives long lasting protection both inside and outside.
Few years ago my uncle built outside stairway from steel. He made the mistake using Hammerite without any primer. It lasted less than two years, then it was brown from rust, and he had to take it down for sandblasting and repaint.

My neighbor built a trailer and used Hammerite - similar results, rust is creeping out all over three years later.

This may be decent paint, but the rustproofing aspect is B.S. Be warned!

Hammerite , a little history.

I used to drive over the hill from where I worked in the late 1970's to Prudhoe, Northumberland to the works it all started. I sort of recall it being just a Nissen hut painted in a lime green paint (not hammer finish).

The original Hammerite was of Finnegans WaxOyl fame that also made claims to rust prevention. Sales then were only mail-order from advertising in car magazines etc.

Sometime in the early 1980's I went to the works , now a large modern plant owned by Hunting Lubricants (part of Hunting Aviation) - it was sold in all the shops them along with claims of rust prevention etc. I suspected the formulae had changed a bit :headscrat

I used it direct on to cleaned steel wheels , tow-bars etc. - never impressed with performance. However a neighbour had a new car port erected , the steel box sections - he stripped the red oxide primer and left the steel to more than flash rust for abt. 2 months. That was in 1977 , almost every day I walk past the car port and think - it is still holding up (never re-painted - ever).

In later years the business was purchased by ICI paints, from early 2010 the paint formulae has changed (again). Under the Solvent Regs. the Xylene content had to be removed (stoddart / white spirit increased). Most people complain the "Smooth Hammerite" (formerly known as Smoothrite) does not brush out so well.

Do I use it - NO, too expensive , I use Ronseal (Sherwin Williams) paints that are very similar but cheaper , however - I do use it over Hammerite No.1 Primer or similar Oxide primer. I would not use either of these brands of paints direct to steel, now the 1 litre tins have been reduced to 750 ml and price increased - I buy a good machinery enamel in 1 Litre cans

:) Festool has a nice cordless one for only €560 :D ;)

Only? :bounce:

yeah only make sense if you need that tool daily or if you are a semi-professional etc. for DIY use Bosch green will be just fine, what i wouldn´t buy are the 10 or 20 Euro tools or Einhell etc.

if your corded is broken....:) ? ok depends on what you do...
Green Bosch should work ok , in DIY magazine tests Bosch usually wins or is on top of the list, if you have no cordless drill and no corded then i would take a 2 speed impact drill, the standard drill of every german household :)

Broken, isn't than correct? I mean damaged. Flames coming out from the engine
I opened to fix it but it not worth the repair.

I think that a corded 2 speed drill are the best choice for me. I am afraid the cordless cause of the occasional use.

This one maybe http://www.kentrovidas.gr/showprod.php?id=2122

Monte very impresive tools what you posted.
