the price says made in china too ;)

I'm not sure.
This price was only for very little time and for only a few pieces. Now in that price you can find only the tool, without the case. I also find it in an old makita promo pdf with a higher price. I believe that the price is so low because soon new tools with lithium battery will come to offer. Anyway, I'll ask him again just from curiosity.

btw. very nice Gedore collection !!!

Thanks. :) I need only a few more, but I want much much more. :(

I can recommend this drill:

Ok.. That was no fair. You now that I haven't the money to bay it.

Maybe I settle for something like this. :D

Better late than never, Christmas presents from my daughter:

Hazet screwdrivers are awesome!
Firm grip, triangle-shaped ergonomic handlers, these tools apparently were created to last.

I'll have to repost that pic of my broken 803. ;). They are good, just not as prybars. I do prefer the 802 screwdrivers to either my 803 or 810 though. The SmartCases are cool. I have the 1/4" socket set. I have chrome versions of those pliers too - good stuff, but I prefer my NWS.

but they will charge for international shipping, and US custom might slap a duty on the item when it gets here. So that 19% off for vat is lost in the transaction.

you wont be taxed much if at all. $5-$10. One thing the US is great for is custom fees/import taxes.

Intertional shipping can be good or bad depending on the country and how fast you want it. Royal Air Mail seems to be quite affordable [similar to USPS Priority] same with EMS. DHL/UPS/Fedex international on the other hand can be quite expensive.

Thanks for the info as well. All those wrenches are out of my league when I can buy a US made Precision Instruments Split-beam for $119 US. Nothing decided yet...we will see.

Buy German because its fun and unique, dont do it from a value perspective because it isnt there. Too many great domestic options. Check out Sturtevant Richmont as well. On par with other brands but often you can score them cheap off ebay.

hehe pretty much same here, japanese bikes are No1 in the world, solid bikes and now that expensive, and cheap parts (if you look at ktm's price, husky's price, ducati etc etc) and man ktm's are still carbed :D

And you don't have to use 13mm sockets! I had an 1986 KTM 125(or as the brits say 1...2...5!) when I was young and I couldn't get jack for parts for it, while everyone with a CR could find them anywhere. Haven't been a fan since then! You are totally right with the price of EU bikes....they used to have nicer components on them, but the Japanese have really stepped it up in that area.

I think Ryan Dungeys (factory KTM SX\MX rider hear) bike has EFI now...same with the 350. Mines carbed but I don't have the money for a new Yamaha....or want that one....YUCK!

Are all KTMs the same in EU as in the US? I know mine is a little different even in Canada.

Just heard of a new development from Showa (japan) that I think will turn out...Air fork! All air, no spring or oil....Sounds cool...we will see!

Thanks, but infortunately I do have to look throw my pocket book lens...I have no choice with the US crappy economy and my lack of work!

The few wrenches I have seen are VERY expensive ($300) here and I was comparing them to a highly respect US wrench that is quite a bit lower in price...thats all. I will look on ebay though. Thanks!

The Facom S.208-200 (40-200nm) is not that expensive......made in Italy and calibrated in France. $150.00 with shipping & insurance (GJ price).

No, no, no, you can ship those at a very reasonable rate and the custom duty is something that can be kept low. Officialy it is something like 9% in the US. If you need one, send me a PM.

CDI (Snap-on), PI and Proto are all make pro quality torque wrenches here in the US. You can't go wrong with any of them. Not sure about a wrench ever needing calibration.... you can probably send it back to your dealer periodically to have it checked for accuracy....

With deutsch post, a 1/2 inch torque wrench domestically ships for 7 euros. I do not think international shipping is just 2 euros more. With the whole thing I have priced it, 19% off but on a 150 euro item is 20 euro. Shipping is at least 15 euro for the lowest price, and with say dhl is it 20 euro with tracking. Then you hit 9 dollars duty, that makes it 26 euros. Then factor in the exchange rate of 30% for the tool that is 130 euro. That makes the 130 euro item, 169 dollars. Push the 20-25 euro shipping. Which comes out to 26-30 dollars. And you are still looking at a 200 dollar torque wrench.

You are not buying German tools in the US because they are as good but cheaper than domestic tools. You are buying them because you want them. At least hat's why I buy foreign stuff in Germany.

Nothing wrong with educating people on foreign buying realities for people living in the USA. I have a feeling, the realities may hurt business for some members....:lol:

Kip,

I fly back and forth to germany almost monthly. And I uses to bring back allot of tools from germany, as I knew a shop I dealt with allot. I got the export paperwork to get the 19% vat back on my next visit. And I have went the shipping route. And the reality is unless you are buy some 1000 buck, where you are saving 190 dollars, the cost of shipping negates the vat savings on tools under 500 dollars. And over that the 9% duty form US Customs, really make the big ticket item very similar in price to a local buy the tool in Germany.

Now that said, majority of the US dealer of German tools charges a super premium on the tool. What I would pick up at a big box in germany, like a wera zyklop for 55 dollars with the exchange rate, sells for 90 here. So if you want a German tool, getting it form germany for the avg joe is still cheaper if you put in a order of over 400 dollars.

Just from personal experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience....I appreciated it. This all about them trying to make money off people like me....instead of sharing info about tools.:headscrat

I asked a question about Proxxen because they sold them on Amazon....instead a I got hounded like I was in a street market! Never said anything about my "dream" of owning a German tool. Its more their dream of money!

Come on Monte....I saw the Black and Decker sign. I know you really want the $20 dollar saw!

Let me think about that for a while !!!!

ehhhh NO !
:)
I rather use my hand saw :) ;)
By the way my response to that torque wrench is.....:eyecrazy:
not glossy enough ?? :)

First what all Bosch stuff did they have, is that orange case Fein, Worx, Husqvarna or something else, is that teal and yellow coloured item Wolfcraft and whats in that Sweet Markt??? We need more pics or maybe a video...
mostly only the Bosch stuff for the "multi cutter" (Multimaster) and a few other things like the "SDS-Quick" drill bits for the "Bosch Uneo" mini rotary hammer drill as well as the "Multi Construction" drill bits and different chucks for the "Bosch IXO". The other accessoires are labeled "Lux". The orange cases are Fein Multimasters, about 2 dozens of them, a mini Fein booth with test center and a cabinet with all accessoires. The store also sells "Worx Orange" and "Worx lime green", CMI, Metabo, B+D, Bosch green, Steinel, Dremel, Proxxon and Rapid power tools. They also have Wolfcraft, so it could be from wolfcraft but i dont know what it is :) Sweet markt sells candy, magazines, newspaper and drinks etc. so you can strengthen yourself after shopping (or before) :) on the outside there is also a sausage snack bar :)
....more pics...maybe....later...

I haven't checked every page on this thread but here are some french made channel-locks i found in a garage in Brentwood, CA.

The guy had a ton of european cars/parts so it didn't surprise me that he had european tools too.

They are a bit different then a pair of channel-lock brand pliers but the dual jaw serrations are nice. They are coarse in the back and very fine in the front. Not a bad tool to have in the toolbox

Hi uuze,

I have a small and empty store in Tapiola (using it as office) and I've been searching something to do during winter months when my main business is quiet. I already sell some specialized tools/machines but they are my own brand and/or do not conflict with hand tools of any kind. Maybe we should meet and talk about tools?

BTW. not a total Heyco virgin... ;)

You got mail.

Here is a some more pictures about Heyco and Heytec products.

Heyco Talenta ratchet, size is 1/2" but dimensions are like in 3/8" ratchet.

We previously had a lot of "Kinzo". Time is now rare. I have a cutter on the "Kinzo". Bought in 2000. Quality is good. Now tell the funniest thing. Proprietary tools we have now is very small. All that is sold, much worse than "Kinzo"
