Your Elora wrenches are lovely. From the pics the chrome reminds me the Hazet.

Overall the Elora wrenches are very similar to the hazet. The chrome is similar, they are around the same length and the open end of the Eloras is near identical in shape to the open end of the Hazets. The one downside of the Eloras is that the ring end would be a bit more bulky.

Your opinion about NWS vs Knipex? I have the NWS but i would like to hear from you who have both of them!:)

The Fantastico are my first pair of NWS pliers. I was a bit sceptical at first and was actually looking for the Knipex Twinforce, however the fantastico were £23, and the cheapest I could find a pair of the Twinforce was for over £40.

Having said that, I certainly have no regrets about the Fantastico, they are class! I can't stop cutting random **** just for the fun of it.
Comparing the Knipex Cobalt and Fantastico would not be a fair comparison, the Cobalt have a higher cutting capacity, have better leverage and are a more rugged design, but for most normal things I would definately pick up the fantastico first.

What do you think of the Wera Bit ratchet?

I received the Felo version today (thanks to Mr Tradesmans Choice)

I really like it, although it's a lot smaller than I could ever have expected.

The flat head is perfect to lean your thumb on for extra pressure and the angle allows your fingers to clear the workpiece when holding it.

The box is very neat as well. Cut out foam to hold all the sockets and bits, and it also has a rubber seal the whole way round to keep the damp out.

The only other bit ratchet I can compare with is the Bahco I have, the 2058-s26.

The Wera is a bit heavier, with a fatter handle part. It feels better to hold than the Bahcos wrench-like design. Being a bit heavier can be a disadvantage in a cramped/hard to reach situation though. I also think that the angled head of the Bahco is better in most situations. Ratcheting wise they are similar, perhaps a little bit better mechanism in the Wera. The Wera is a nice package though, with a large collection of high quality bits, but it's also expensive.

That Felo really looks good, sturdy handle and angled head. The closed top might be a small issue though. Being able to press the bits out from behind is much simpler than dragging them out when having greasy hands. Still, I would think the ultimate is that ratchet with the Weras packaging and accessories. :)

Is the felo made in Germany?

I don't know. The only thing stamped Germany is the bit extension. I wouldn't be surprised if the sockets are subcontracted out to Taiwan as that is not really Felo's forte. I will let a resident German confirm this though.

But don't let COO put you off. Everything in the box is top notch. My photo's certainly don't do the bit ratchet justice.

I am coming down with 1/4" bits, so the wera box wouldn't really appeal to me. Plus I would always lift the impact driver first, the felo will not get a whole lot of work.

I was not totally happy with the plastic pad work surface of my wisent box. So today with all the sale, went an got a nice piece of solid wood and made a new work surface for my wisent box. After cutting it and sanding it down, it came out really nice. Now to spend the next 2 weeks oiling it everyday to get it to be nicely water resistance.

Thank goodness for my bosch powertools. The oscillating tool was a god spent. Made the sanding and rounding the corners a breeze.

Can't wait to see it! ;)
Actually it's a same box but, with the difference name stamp on it.

That is outstanding! I really like it -casters are a clever idea, and dividers like Lista
You right the casters is a good idea for a large and heavy box like this. The dividers make it look like very serious tool box

WOW Awesome tool box !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :eyecrazy: :eyecrazy: :eyecrazy:
:)

why do you want to send it back ?????
She's send me the wrong item  and the good is she's bear all the return cost + I got a chance to snap a couple of pics for all of you before arrange to return the box back to Singapore. :bounce:

Send it to me !!!!! :D :D :D
OK if you pay all the bills, box + fright charges to Germany:D :bounce: I don't think Japan made box suitable for you,:D and you don't need the cantilever box, you already own the red Metec and a big reseda green cabinet.

i found a tool box for you on ebay.com.my !!! And the price is good too !!
nice ! but it's too late :lol_hitti: :(

it seems the colour comes from the diamond coating. The complete bit is coated with diamond particles. The black sleeve is a "shrink tubing" (or just a plastic sleeve)
Oo.. I see

sure !! :pimpflash :D what else ?
ok Albrecht maybe :)

yeah and i can borrow it so i don´t need to buy my own :D
that a good idea :D

@Miskin

All the Japan wrenches comes from this machine maintenance tool kit?

What´s even worse, is that most of the blue "pro-tools" are made in PRC.
From Bosch China website: (www.bosch.com.cn)
"Bosch Power Tools (China) Co., Ltd.
Bosch Power Tools is the leading supplier of portable electric power tools and accessories, committed to high standards in quality, technical innovation and after-sales service. It has three brands, Bosch, Skil, and Dremel, and 5 product segments: portable power tools, benchtop, measuring tools, lawn and garden and accessories.

Bosch Power Tools established its joint-venture in Hangzhou in 1995 and became a wholly foreign-invested enterprise of Bosch in 2003. Bosch Power Tools (China) Co., Ltd. now occupies 140,000 square meters and includes Bosch, Skil and Accessories manufacturing, Bosch Power Tools China Sales & Marketing Center, an Asia Pacific R&D Center, an Asia Pacific Logistic Center, an Asia Pacific Product Training Center, and Global Purchasing and Quality Offices. Now the company has become the most important power tools location within Bosch worldwide."

I have worked with the blue tools, and there is nothing to complain about. Still, i would have prefered "Made in Germany"...:headscrat

I was surprise with all my bosch tools, majority were made in malaysia not china. Only the circular saw and saw saw is chinese. But they allot work great, I have no complaints with the PRC stuff.

brake line flaring tool

which brand ?

These are actually all made by Bond Engineering in Leicestershire, England and rebranded by a variety of companies like Sykes-Pickavant, Sealey, Draper, Laser, etc..
They have a number of different models all pretty much built on the same principle.
Here's an older model I have, branded as Ratcliffe.

Oh, and yes, you can toss those Beta and similar ones in the scrap once you've used one of these.

radostin,

Your photos are very small, you may want to attach photos 1024x1024 so members can see your tools more clearly.

Is that rubber tape on your pliers to make them more suitable for electrical work?

My wife already thinks I'm insane, so fortunately for me, she doesn't read GJ to see what arrived this afternoon (and the reason I was in the freezing cold garage for an hour). I'm really impressed with the quality of the Felos...

Now I just have to wait for my MWS pliers to arrive. :D

it seems it falls off the same production line..... :) The WGB set was cheaper though, only 29.-€ the offline Proxxon store here wanted 43,50 :)

I was a bit sad that I didn't get a calendar. But then I found this for SEK 499:- and got happier! :) All the stuff I wanted from the calendar and more!

That´s a very nice complete and intelligent 1/4" set ! :pimpflash:drool::thumbup:

I will let a resident German confirm this though.

i don´t know but i guess Taiwan too. Maybe the bits are from Felo but the rest don´t look german. But the taiwanese make pretty nice miniature ratchets + other stuff.

She's send me the wrong item  and the good is she's bear all the return cost + I got a chance to snap a couple of pics for all of you before arrange to return the box back to Singapore. :bounce:
hopefully she sends another wrong box so we can see more pictures

"Tool in action" :)
:pimpflash :pimpflash :pimpflash

Are those WGB made in Germany? That is the new style boxing. And allot of the standard sockets in the sets are stamped germany
no coo on box. For the 29.- € i guess Taiwan..... The open box sockets don´t carry the coo anymore since they chaged to the pink color.

These are actually all made by Bond Engineering in Leicestershire, England
thanks, never heard of them !
i only have experience with the Hazet and Stahlwille flaring tools so far, but after a while the tube starts to slip out of the holder....

which brand ?

It was rebranded as a tool of the dealer I bought it of so I dont really know but the system it creates the flair is way better in my opinion. With the chinese stuff its pretty easy to create a flair that althought it seals right looks a bit strange and I have a bad feeling with it.

These are actually all made by Bond Engineering in Leicestershire, England

Here we have it James bond creates tools in his spare time. Thx Van Steele - did not know who is the original creator of those tools so many companys sell them under their name.

Hazet magnetic bowl? Looks like one, but black?

I also own the hazet blue version and I think its produced in the same factory. The only difference I noticed is that its black and 3 euros cheaper :D. I have to put them side by side today.

These do work so much easier and hassle-free, just make your flares slowly but steadfastly and use a tiny bit of glycol grease - or brake fluid - on the tip of the punch.
