Some of mine recently purchased tools.
Could you to measure the shaft diameter of the PB Swiss ratcheting screwdriver handle if possible?

I'm trying to find out how well it will fit in recessed holes, as some I've tried the wall thickness is a bit too much to fit where I wanted to use them.

TIA. :)

These little beauties arrived today all the way from Jens in Germany. Worth the (impatient) wait in every way. I can't get over how nice they are. I made the hard decision to sell my Snap-On hard-handles in order to buy these, because there was just something about the SOs that I didn't like. I wasn't sure if it was the right decision until I got home from work tonight. Wow, these are nice ratchets.

And bonus, 3 little bags of the best Gummi Bears on the planet. w00t! Jens is first class, in every way. If you want Hazet stuff, you don't have to look any further than a GJ forum member and Hazet dealer.

ha I would even buy these off from you - pretty hard to find a dealer in austria that offers these

For old FACOM products: I know a supplier that has a lot of older tools still in stock, like the old type screwdrivers, the 40-serie wrenches and so on. If you are interested: Sent me a PM and I can hook you up!

Thanks for the info
I will post it when it come. Can you post yours?

Haven't yet had the time to take photo's of my tools.

Same for the (unplanned) new arrivals of this week...

New Carolus torque wrenches are NOT THE SAME!

If you compare the 2011 and 2012 catalogue you will notice that they have replaced most of their torque wrenches with newer models. These newer models are NOT German made!

Great Knipex photos. My superiors at work, good chaps that they are, just bought me and a co- worker each a nice set of Knipex, Wiha, and Wera pliers, precision drivers, and insualted drivers. I will try to get some photos posted up Monday.

No need atm - since Laro13 sent me a set WoHOOO :) just finished the 1/4 set.
A bit strange putting the facom label on stahlwille sockets but it was their fault in the first place by making sockets that are so hard to read :D

Big THANKS Laro13/Jasper for this freebie :)

in the 2012 catalog
http://www.gedore.net/module/objproduct_data/5/oed_134658_483_1_0_CAR_2012_GTC_UK_oP.pdf
the wrenches look german which is also indicated on the wrenches i think ? are there more/other wrenches ?

Thanks again Monte. The Toollady link is pretty good. They do not have many of the bit sets in your photos but I will find something to make it work. They also have the empty carrying cases which I think is quite smart. Allow for customising your bit set. I wish Chad's would carry them as well. I really like the fact that PB colour codes the bits. Very easy to keep things orginised. And I think their ratcheting handles look about as nice as anything I have seen. You blokes are such enablers.

some more pics to convince you :D
bit set attached to the belt, opens easily with a push on the button on top, bits can easily be removed and inserted:

Hi Phobo,

I'm glad you liked them.

Do you have any problems with the fit?
I have got some Elora sockets where some of the Tags are a loose fit.

Mine arrived as well the other day (been having compouter issues, thus not posting earlier). Thanks!

No problem so far with the labels :) Only used 5 till 13mm - since I am planning to get a new 1/2 socket set. So hard to decide if gedore/hazet/stahlwille or sth. else :(

yes grafitti and torque wrenches ;)

Ok!

nice models :)
it seems everybody in greece has Gedore tools :)

Not everybody. you can not find them at your neighborhood garage. Usually most of small car and bike workshops has low badged tools like ks, force etc along with some good ones. Bigger automotive workshops has better tools though. Most common are facom, beta, wurth some times Unior etc. There you can find special tools from hazet and gedore, pullers etc.
Stahlwille and hazet are really tough to find. The Stahlwille has not even a serious representation. Only one company import large quantities for big construction companies. Hazet in my town, you can find only by a guy with a truck. In Athens you can find one or two stores that has Hazet.
Furthermore most of people don't know that the Hazet for e.g has a lifetime warranty. I found a broken hazet screwdriver ones and asked him why not go for change. He doesn't even knew that Hazet has warranty. Another one asked me if this company still exist (hazet). But everybody knows facom. Maybe because you can find it even in praktiker. And everybody knows that it has a lifetime warranty etc.
But every serious company and big automotive workshop knows Hazet and Gedore. They make huge orders from hand tools and special tools and car body tools etc. Every one that has worked or working in those companies knows Hazet and Gedore. And elora etc.
Gedore has a very good representation and good prices. But again it's not so easy for every one to find them locally.
Knipex from the other hand, is like saying plier.
Koken are mostly known in tire repair shops.
Generally you can find anything but the most known are facom and all the stanley group.

KNIPEX 71 12 200 CoBolt vs. KNIPEX 74 91 250 -

Great test. Thank you very much mr jack. And very good pics.

Directly from Schmitz's Online Store.

Items listed don't have a minimum quantity. Shipping is flat rate (19.90EUR). They accept PayPal as a payment method, which makes it rather easy.

Those that aren't listed have a minimum order of 6 (order via email or phone contact), but they're very easy to deal with in my experience based on email communications.

If ordering from the US, the VAT will vanish once you select UNITED STATES for the country in the address entry page. Presumably would be the same for non-EU nations, though other taxes may be applied (haven't tried Australia to see if GST is applied or not for example).

very rare to find products made in Portugal. Owned manufactured goods.

In the time we have 14 car brands in Portugal. But now we only have the Auto-Europe. The best company to manufacture motorcycles and machinery to reap wheat was Pachancho. But now it seems that only industrial components.

Website: http://www.pachancho.pt/web1/zp/tpl1/id1/

My grandfather has a machine to cut the grass Pachanco. It has about 40 years old and works like new. Incredible, made in Portugal.

You can see the Video:

nice haul !

Nice comparison, Monte. I think you need a RSA made Gedore 13mm as well....
that would be nice, one RSA made and one from Brazil :)
Do the wrenches + tools actually say "Made in RSA" or "South Africa" on the tools ?

Rusik, Made in my Country.
There has to be a huge quality.
Best Regards

I saw that someone mentioned IUS.

IUS was quite a good quality manufacturer before 1989.

I have some old wrenches and sockets.
I don't really use them anymore, I only keep them as a backup.

The old stuff is tough, but the design and finish is poor.

Certainly not to be compared with german tools, but a lot better than nowadays chinese stuff.

After they were bought by the MOB group, the quality has gone down.
For example, I own 2 adjustable wrenches, the french type, both made by IUS.
They are of very good quality and are older than me.
In comparison, I have seen a new IUS adjustable wrench.
Same design, same colour, but extremely low quality.
The wrench is not at all rigid, it wiggles.

Quite pathetic what big corporations do to manufacturers after they buy them.
