Cheers Rico. The lista definitely swallows up the modules better than the Beta did, with room to spare. I can get 4 across a drawer with a fair bit of extra room to the side and the back (I hope to fill the leftover space with some custom modules). As you know, it's a bit of a squeeze to get two modules in a standard sized drawer.

If I had known I'd end up with as many tools as this I would have started with the Lista in the first place. It was a fair bit cheaper than my Beta stack and the single Lista has >50% more drawer-area than the entire Beta stack.

Your tools have come on in leaps and bounds since you joined GJ... It's looking really good.
For years I have kept looking at those modules... Lack of space in my toolbox stops me
from getting them. I stil can't believe I've filled up two 27" tripple stacks. I blame this place.

Oh, by the way... That 3/8" drive in the 1/4" body conversion I saw you post up looks
really good. I may just have to do that, could be very handy. All the best Mate.

Hi Monte, nice file set, and i´m sure the quality is OK. But for me as a scandinavian, it feels like blasphemia to look at "Öberg, Portugal"...
It is the same feeling I guess you would have, looking at a wrench with "Hazet, China"...
I know i sound like an old, grumpy man, but for me it´s Öberg: Swedish files; Bacho: Swedish wrenches and pliers; Sandvik: Swedish saws and cutting steel for lathes (coromant).
Some year ago, I discovered that the pipe wrenches from Bacho showed "Made in Argentina". On the back of the shelf in the local store, I managed to find two NOS with "Made in Sweden". I bought them immidiately...
So, did that change anything? No...but at least i have got genuine swedish pipe wrenches to serve me the rest of my life . And i really hate doing plumbers work... Well, they can remove rusty bolts and adjust my cars tracking rods as well.

Neither did I get positve response from Felo asking them for a free catalog and a sample, just a standard "no dealer" mail. BTW I`m from Croatia.

Personally i would recommend to use the right tool for the job e.g. a wood drill bit for wood, metal drill bit for metal etc. because a dedicated tool works better. However if you have to drill e.g. through metal on top of stone then i would use these bits. For metal on top of wood regular HSS steel drill bits will work too.

Masonary bits have tungsten carbide tips. There isn't much they won't cut.

It´s a "Keil Goldcraft" drill bit, similar like the "Alpen Multicut" or "Bosch Multiconstruction". A drill bit with a sharp ground carbide tip.
Personally i would recommend to use the right tool for the job e.g. a wood drill bit for wood, metal drill bit for metal etc. because a dedicated tool works better. However if you have to drill e.g. through metal on top of stone then i would use these bits. For metal on top of wood regular HSS steel drill bits will work too.

Pferd definately does some files in Germany, I have recenty bought some chainsaw files with "made in germany" on the package. And their 2011 catalogue has this image on the frontpage (could be an old photograph of course ) - and yes, the **** chainsaw files are from Vallorbe (who also produces for the "Oregon" brand). Regarding Öberg files, i read a webpage earlier this day from the Community of Eskilstuna, Sweden, with the history of The Öbergs works. The factory closed production in Sweden in 1984, and moved the machines to Portugal, where a branch had opened 10 years earlier. Öbergs used to be a family business, but was aquired by Sandvik Steel in the late 1970´s. So out goes the family, and away flies the sentimental bounds, that keeps production in the homestead.

I just bought some second hand gedore 1B wrenches; 8,10,12,13,15,19,24,30 and 36 mm.
The 36mm wrench is a big one, I put a 13mm next to it for comparison. I don't know when I will ever need it.

I paid about €40,- for them, but now I have to search for the rest, to complete the set.

Does anybody know, what the two letters after "Germany" mean?
I have got: "NL", "XB", "HJ", "XJ", "UD", "UE" and "TE".

All the file talk got me looking to see if I could find any made in the UK. I was unable to find anyone currently in business, but I did just land this set of Peter Stubs (Warrington, UK 1777-1990's) NOS files on ebay. More pics once they arrive:

Cheapy 17mm wrench. A cobalt drill bit wouldn't touch it.

An ancient 3/8" masonary bit.
Faced it with an angle grinder first and then sharpened the cutting angle on the bench grinder.

I focused more on one side as I soon got bored. It is difficult to get a good sharp point and in the process I wore a few grooves in the grinding wheel.

I used plenty of cutting fluid to keep it cool ( it would be cheating if it melted its way through).

Who else wants to play this game?

i have wood drill bits and the Goldcraft bits from Keil and no complaints so far. The wood bits and carbide tipped bits are made in Germany, the steel drill bits not. They make drill bits since 40 years so i guess they know what they´re doing

It seems that everybody at Felo is chipping' in to get the requests out as soon as possible. I even see a 'Thank you'-lettre of the big boss himself...

Maybe we can make a list of the names and function of the employee that send you the 'Thank you'-lettre? Nice to know who to contact at Felo...

I also want to applaud the people of Felo for sending the free sample in the quantities that they have done these last weeks! They could have easily stopped that promotion with a big 'Sorry, no more stock'-response. It's not a cheap way to promote your products in this way...
