Been looking for a Bonney set for a while. Finally found more than I could have asked for. Complete metric combo wrench set, polished long pattern. Sweet!

I'm quickly growing to love my tools from the old world, thanks to this thread.
First up my Facom screwdrivers, Made in France. Really really like these, as far as hard handled screwdrivers go these are just the bees knees ha.

My Bahco Torx set (made in Spain) Really like these even tho they are a soft handled.
The hacksaw frame is made in china but is comfortable and just hefty enough to feel good, the Bahco blade is a dream to cut with after using cheep blades for so long thinking there cant be that much of a difference lol.

My humble budget german made pliers. Harry P. Will (knipex?) and a branded knipex pair of diagonal cutters. My plier drawer has a growing collection of red handles.

Anybody heard of SCU Al - Bron tools before?

I recently won a supposed to be Saltus ratchet on Ebay, instead I got this 1/2 SCU ratchet. Its made out of aluminium bronze, I guess for a non sparking enviroment.

Couldn't find any info about SCU.

2oolhound,

Thanks for the post. The BTC Japan wrenches look very close to my mystery wrench. It could well be that my wrench is/was BTC contract production (i.e. unlabeled) for another company or another market.

Thanks for the help.

Wrong thread but they do look nice. I can see why people rave about them.

Do you have any edge shots of them? The handle looks rounded like the old Britool.

I love those Facom screwdrivers, friend of mine set of them them and yeah they are some of the nicest hard handle drivers out there, (they are just pipped to the post by my green snap on hard handles for favorite drivers) shame they stopped making them, and i haven't managed to track down some NOS ones yet :(

not sure if its related but it looks a lot like the Non sparking ratchets made by CS Unitec

http://www.csunitec.com/nonsparking/

Been wanting want to buy a non spark ratchet for a while (or other tool really, just as a talking point) but cant justify the cost as they are fearsomely expensive, and not that durable I'd guess (got a bit of a thing for rare or unusual 3/8 ratchets... :lol_hitti)

Monte,

I'll PM Superautobacs, he is a good guy and quite knowledgeable. I had forgotten his name though.

I checked the link you posted above. You must be talking about the Blue-point Supreme wrenches with the rib down the shank. Williams also made a similar ribbed wrench. But, neither of these look even close to my mystery wrench.

The search continues... will let you know what Super has to say.
yeah i had the BP ones in mind but they´re too different... so i guess japanese...

The Unior ratchet looks cool.

Any vendor in the U.S. sell them ?

http://www.uniortools.com/?doc=10986&sid=

Fire an email off and see.

I picked up another Atlas Copco die grinder.

I am very impressed with it. It has a vibration damping system in it - the whole spindle and motor is basically mounted on rubber bushes so when you push against the burr/ stone it flexes slightly. Actually has a significant noticable effect on reducing clatter.

It is also unbelievable quiet and very efficient. Takes very little air to run it.

Here is it compared to its bigger older brother-

The Atlas Copco grinders go fairly cheap second hand on ebay and are well work looking out for. There is just no comparison between them and the cheapy Chinese ones.

Also received a pair of Wiss branded nibblers. They have a European patent.

It was supposed capable of cutting Stainless Steel but it only managed about an inch before the blade looked like this-

:mad::mad::mad: P.O.S.

Retailers are looking £10 for a new blade which is only a bit of stamped steep with some teeth cut it it, so I will have a go at resharpening it.

Received some Vessel Screwdrivers-

The black and grey ones are the Impacta type that work like an impact driver.

I have only played with them so far but they do seem to work fairly well. They have some sort of sprung mechanism so you have to give them a good hard hit for them to turn. They wouldn't be as as fast as the normal hand held type but as you can see below they are only a fraction of the size and have better reach-

(Big one is also made by Vessel)

Thanks, I was meaning to post photos of these wrenches anyways but hurried along after the suggestions of Japanese manufacture. I should have shot some angles from the end because your wrench looks much thicker than any of these others so far. Yours has a distinct logo also.

yeah you should ;) very sharp, very simple, very stylish, very french :)
I grew up using them all the time, so my fingers can attest to how sharp they are! Will order one along with this, Gransfors Bruks Forest Axe - had my eye on it for awhile thanks to this thread!!
