I own a few of the red "power handle" (I think it's called) Wiha drivers (Torx and Torx Plus) and they're flat on the ends. I'm looking at it right now, actually. The ones at work are flat as well.

May I ask why you're asking? :D

Also, I just ordered some PB Swiss torx plus drivers.. they should be in tomorrow. Hopefully they're as nice as I think they are! (For the price, anyways).

Are the tips completely flat or do they look like this? The bits I know aren't completely flat, but are the screwdrivers the same way?

The flat torx I'm talking about:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002NYBZU/?tag=atomicindus08-20

The concave torx:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0032FOUPG/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Just wondering if the tips on the Wiha screwdrivers are the flat design or the concave.

The links you post are for torx sockets. I don´t use them. Anyway the Wiha torx screwdrivers i use are the flat design as you can see in the pic
(if you can of course, sorry self phone pic).

The flat tips and the torx bolts on Mercedes don't go together well. The concave design works better and fits more flush. I need to look at the smaller torx screws on the car and see how they look, I don't mind using the flat tips but the Snap On gold torx bits and the Lisle flat tip torx bits don't work well in my case. Flat tips don't seem to work as well as concave.

Thank you Miskin... quick observation on the Felo torx... the center is slightly higher. Looks flat but the bigger sizes like the T30 and T40 you can tell.

I couldn't help but post these up. I'm bedridden from surgery but my wife saw tools at a yard sale on her way home and picked these out for me.

Your wife's got quite the eye for tools! :rocker:
I envy that your wife is so thoughtful...
I'm lucky if my wife doesn't throw my tools in the trash when I'm not looking!

Nice. Is that knob for small adjustments?

Cool. Gotta love DIN wrenches. Something about their design.

Well yeah random pins, gears, elect motors, she was concerned about those when we had a huge barn and a tool shed. So I can't keep parts anymore but tools yeah and yes she is quite thoughtful and is kind of a gearhead herself. Plus she knows a steal they were .50 each Id give her a medal if I could hop and find one :rocker:

Levi's are 79 euros there?! :scared: 45-60 dollars here, full price! Sometimes they go on sale for cheaper. I was looking at this:

http://www.amazon.de/dp/B004H4ANS4/

:shocking::shocking::shocking:
yeah it´s crazy.... I dunno for the price of the Hazet vest i´d rather buy a Carhartt vest and buy some Hazet tools for the rest of the money ;)

One stand (same as the green one) has been stripped of paint, and I've started stripping paind from the large Leinen, but the wire cup doesn't reach into some of the tighter spots so I'm thinking of giving electrolysis a try. The other vice is also a Leinen (smaller one) but it hasn't been delivered yet.

The other two grinders are both Elliotts - a 6" and a 7". Those and the other stand will be the same Reseda green as the one I;ve just done. I'm thinking that colour for the Leinens as well.

I also have two machine vices, but I haven't seriously considered starting on those yet. :wtf:
sounds like a lot of work !
Reseda green is nice huh ?? :D I think I paint my car like that :D
I´m looking into one of these small sand blast cabinets for my next vise restoration....? Maybe that would be an idea ?

Monte, did you know who make wrenches from 50CrV4 steel (or higher)?

I tried the open end of 410 maxline. It turn off 5.8 grade bolt without any marks, dents on the wrench. It is great.

I only can find Heyco... The other manufacturers usually seem to use 31CrV3....

Bhae, What are those Jokers like quality-wise? Do you think they would hold up to regular/workshop use?

Here's a small pair of pliers (5.25") that have been in my toolbox for years. I don't remember where they came from (yard sale, flea market, swiped from my grandfather). I originally thought that they were from Utica Tools, but when I used a magnifying glass to find the part number - nada.

There is no manufacturer or part number on the pliers, just a COO stamped on the inside of one of the handles. It says •RUSSIA• . I have no idea how they made it to New England, but I have made good use of them stitching leather.

Those Gedore No7UR look nice.
Searching I see there is a Gedore No7R available over here.
I believe the No7R is one way and the No7UR is reversible, would that be right ?

Here you go Miskin... the quality is very nice. The bits fit in every socket manufacturer... I took the 17mm bit out of the Bondhus socket and tried putting it into the Gedore, it left a mark... here are pictures. :)

So those are designed to go into sockets and make them into bit sockets?... I want some now. I'm a huge fan of Bondhus, so I'm glad to see they're making other stuff.

May I ask what CNC that was in your previous pictures? Mazak? Haas? Hardinge? I work at a testing facility where we machine all kinds of things into test samples... (then we rip my beautiful machining into pieces and tell the customer how strong it was. Hah.) We go through a ton of torx screwdrivers... because all the screws are Torx Plus, and I'm apparently the only one who knows it! :D

Yup, they go into the sockets and make them into bit sockets. The Gedore socket seemed to be a tighter fit, it still fit though. :)

Nice collection! :)

Yes Gedore 7R has zero offset and is one way.

And it is cheaper. :)

Nice! Any picture with the bit out of the socket? How tight it secure?

This is very nice! Better than my Gedore. It secure the bit tighter and works with one hand. You simple pushing the bit inside and it secure tightly. To get the bit out pull the ring and the bit pops out.

:wtf: I didn't know that. I never encounter those bits in my life. Lok where do you use them?

You can find it in the most strange places. In places that should not be accessed by anyone. I found it mostly in electronics such as hard disk etc but also you can find it in the mirrors of cars for eg.

When the tamper proof torx became common they invented the security torx plus.

There is also torx plus with 6 lobe and without hole but with fatter lobe. When you find a bolt where any torx does not match perfectly then it could be a torx plus.

Here..

Torx plus

Security torx plus

I like this bitholder too !

In every DIY market here in Germany, you can find bitboxes with this bitholder.

Yes it's nice. It's perfect for my drill. :)

I want one more in red!
