Hey guys, long time lurker here. Have been reading this topic for years and I figured this would be the place to ask.
Does anyone know the COO of the Bosch Blau GSS 23AE sander?

I've been getting evasive answers from the retailers I asked. One of them claimed Bosch couldn't tell them either. Seems like no one wants to tell me the thing is made in Malaysia. Any comparable sanders that are hergestellt in Deutschland/der Schweiz other than Festool?
I have the Bosch GSS 230 AE and its made in Switzerland. I bought it last November and has been a great sander.
I would gladly pay 100.- for onedon't buy that one! it's too expensive!(*wink!* *wink!*
)
yeahyeah, way more expensive than those so cheap germans, eh!![]()

Doesn't that chuck and attachment remind you of Festool?
It looks like the one on their drills.

A tool shop near me has a large range of Bosch tools on display and I have noticed more of the Bosch blue range now being made in Malaysia. I've not noticed a change in quality visually looking at the products however the proof will be in their durability which older Made in Germany equivelants are known to keep going and going.
Be great to hear other peoples experience with Bosch products made in Malaysia.

Found this while looking in a miscellaneous box for some wire.
I don't know when I bought it or how much it was at the time.

Cosmik,
I have one roll pin punch (1/4" i think), and it's THE tool to have when dealing with stubborn spring pins. Place the punch in position, which is easy, thanks to that ******, then whack that *itch. It's much less frustrating than operating a standard parallel pin punch for the same task.
Monte, any experience with this?

If you still have the Usag spanners, I might be interested
The Einhell is pretty cheap (~£200) and resembles to the one that Beta makes.

. But that´s from TTI too, so no wonder...
nope, the little protuding pin is there for centering the punch on the pin hole (oops... not sure that sentence makes any sense...
dont see anything about fein on http://www.ttigroup.com/en/our_brands/.

Lok punches is from bronze. Not recommended for pin punches.
I only tried it on a lightly rusted U-beam. It worked. If the rust is on the surface at least. If it´s deeper you need a wire wheel...did you try it on some, say, heavily rusted plate?
how thick is the blade and does it bend?
They make some carbide scrapers here too:(i'm about to order a couple Super Scrapers from Carbide Processors since it looks like they're quite efficient and durable for that use but, for whatever reason, haven't clicked the *buy me!* button yet...)
test video will be heartily welcomed!![]()
I wish.....nah, didn't Martor gave you some goodies for your job as Tool Ministry of Germany?

The included box looks just like the black box supplied with my "Orange" AEG corded jigsaw.... But that´s from TTI too, so no wonder...
Maybe Fein has the same problem as small car manufacturers: Developing costs are simply too high, and makes it impossible to offer a complete, in-house made range. Saab cars had the problem, and their cars became more and more Opel´s (GM) with a different shell and a higher price. History now...
Volvo cars faces the same problem, with the recent merger from Geely (China). They can´t depend on components from the Ford group, and has to develop most platforms and components in-house (the Ford and PSA motors are to be phased out over the next year).
I guess that the markets demand for new products is partly to blame. 10-20 years ago, you could sell the same, unchanged qualityproduct for many years. Today, you must present breaking news at every fair.![]()
luckilydont see anything about fein on http://www.ttigroup.com/en/our_brands/.

I don´t know how far the cooperation between TTI and Fein goes. Maybe TTI supply the battery packs and chargers, maybe Fein assembles the battery packs themselves...or a third party ? The press release says that the battery packs come with a "SafetyCell Technology" developed by Fein so maybe they supply the electronics, TTI the tool itself, let´s say Panasonic the cells and then the pack is assembled by a specialized company like BMZ ? I dunno ......Maybe i´ll find out more as soon the tools are out....Is TTI supplying Fein with the batteries and chargers used in all their Lithium tools or at least a number of the components?
the middle line between Bosch Green and Bosch Blue ?An oddity….
