Does anyone know who or where these are made? It as an Irega look to it but the shape of the handle is completely different.

Norbar 3/8 torque wrench

Wera colourful hex keys

A Gedore puller. The 26mm diameter forcing screw says it all.

Knipex Bolt cutters and Knipex Raptor

I have an email from one of my suppliers that there will be a program on channel N 24th (whatever that means - might of got lost in the Google translate :)) at 18.45 (local time 27.8.13) regarding production companies (tools and other manufacturing I guess?) around the Solingen region. Check it out if you have access...would be nice to check it out.

Anybody used these (Jokari Super 4 Plus - made in Germany) that can comment on whether they're worth owning for £19?

Any other recommendations are also welcome, providing they don't involve extortionate prices and are of decent quality :)

These arrived today as well and I put them to use wiring a new switch to my drill press. They work very well, so for the money I'm really pleased. Big thanks to egfdevos and Monte for the recommendation.

Why replace Monte?

Let´s say not replace but added it. Because i prefer 6 point on my socketry. In case if the nut/bolt head is already rusted and looks more like a pyramid or you can´t seat the socket 100% on the fastener (or can´t see what you are doing) the 12 point socket can mess up the screw head/nut badly (with an impact wrench at least....)

very good price/performance ratio and easy and fast to use !
good buy !

Here are some of my Fein tools plus a couple of others. The Fein jigsaw replaces this horrid Swiss Bosch jigsaw, always hated the blade change on it an much prefer the allen key on the Fein, how hard can it be to tighten a screw?

Here´s a video from the inside of your Fein jig saw:

Very nice quality it seems with drop forged parts and very simple design which looks like it could last forever  i want one :)

Thor 710r Hammer. Made in England.
I couldn't find replacement faces for my Tengtools hammer and end up buying this. I don't regret it

nice!

You have good taste Cosmik. I, too, agree that Robertson is the best. :canada:
Way easier to remove any crud from a square recess than it is to do a star shaped Torx!

Bits last a looong time and a #2 covers most tasks. Very rarely have i encountered a #3 or a beastily #4. #00 and 0 is never and #1 occasionaly on older electrical.

too bad i cannot find the two smallest sizes in the old Mastercraft stubby form...
as for the Robertson screws, they're made in PRC now... luckily i have some old canadian stock! :D

Well, I must admit, my "collection" is much smaller than Monte's! Thus, I am too embarrassed to publish it online, and I do suspect that there might be a few here who have more 3/4" wrenches than I do ;)

So far, I've about 15. But I'll continue working on it.

My favorites so far are both matte! WrightGrip and the Stahlwille 13A. Both are excellent.

or you can PM the list to me if you're too ashamed of publishing it!

FDP Snappy will have to wait.. Almost 45$!
uh-oh... gotta get off that truck tool habit, eh!

Bought today at the Earls Barton Vintage Rally for £1 - a USAG 283 20x22mm. Maybe not the most useful size, but I bought it for the novelty as I don't see much USAG stuff in the UK. No COO marked on it - any guesses (is it actually Italy)?

View media item 32859

italian made for sure, lots of old USAG wrenches do not have any CoO stampings/marks.

are they ex-MoD and is there others available? :D

A few circlip pliers

nice, don't hesitate to post pics of all you circlip pliers on the thread linked in my .sig! ;)

Some Footprint punches and a Gilbow chisel.

gotta get me some of those Footprint punches if they do come in the roll pin kind...

+1  Are the Footprint punches made in the UK? Does that top pair of Cobras say 500?! Are you working on lorries with these huge tools? :)

My newest arrival:

View media item 32932

wow! they still have old stock of these... :shocking:

It seems very stout, although I've only had the super-cheap ones in the past that I can compare it with :) I'm dying to get home to try it out.

they're from an era when Facom wanted to expand in the electrician toolbox field with quite mixed results...
some of their best tools(in an "hapticallly ergonomical" sense) are from that line like the smooth elec wrenches and the blue & black "trilobic" handled screwies:

2013-08-28-1608.jpg

i also like this "expander" but don't know if they made it or just rebranded it(it's quite beefy too though even if light):

I don't think old-stock - they're listed in the latest "F13" catalogue (pg 768/769), and seem to be available everywhere that Facom is sold (at least everywhere I looked).

Just stumbled across that tool on page 774 of the new catalogue as well. Offered in 4 size ranges (yours being 1.75-9.0mm wire dia.).

Please accept my apologies for jumping in on the thread with a somewhat OT question, but does somebody know the COO of Tivoly drill bits?

I have been offered a Brazilian made Dormer set and a Tivoly one...Dormer I knew already, while Tivoly sounds entirely new to me. Any pointers?

Thanks in advance guys!

Mauro

hello Mauro, Tivoly is, most of the time, french made and, usually, of quite good quality. but! the last time i asked a rep where some of the tools were made i got a "we make everything ourselves" that didn't really match with the Tivoly branded but Wera made bit set i had in my hand nor with the Osborne with a Tivoly sticker wire cups on the shelf...

so... :dunno:

Good stuff.
The Snap-on blue top box looks cool.
Who makes the red top box on the left ?
I like the Hazet bent flex head ratchet in your next pic too.

The red tool box on the left is a Proto Professional box, which he bought 20-30 odd years ago, he paid a fortune for it, but its a really nice well built box

If you have the chance please look on the package. Usually if there is no coo on the package it´s imported from somewhere.....

@Monte & Cosmik,

thanks for the replies. Try as I might, I could not find a stamped COO on the Tivoly set. Dormer, on the other hand, was quite "honest" in engraving the production country on the drill bit shank.
Is there a thread where Brazilian-made Dormer products are discussed, or have you got infos/opinions on that? The tivoly set surely gives you more bang for the buck... (135 degree point vs. Dormer's standard 118, 1-13 plus core hole drills...), but I am sticking to my "I know where the stuff comes from" policy.

Ok, enough with OT, thanks again guys!

Hey Monte, I bought this ratchet on ebay. I was wondering if you might know which company made it?
The companies ISI, WGB and Walter somehow belong together i think. All 3 companies offer your ratchet:

http://www.cwalter.de/index.php/en/productshome/socket-wrench/steckschluessel-2

Finally I bought Elora toolbox.
coo ?
