The company "Paul Ludwig Schmidt" was founded in 1790. But no idea in which year your pliers was made.

You can use SDS tools with its fixation in a non-SDS machine.
Why should that be bad?
for the price of the convertor chuck you can probably buy a nice set of carbide tipped drill bits...since you can´t chisel with the tool and SDS bits are more expensive than round shank bits i still don´t see the benefits ?:dunno: You also would have to remove the chuck everytime you want to use SDS tools which means to use the hammer/hex key method and i don´t know if that´s good for the chuck, spindle thread and gears on the long run....

I'am addicted to wrenches, especially combination wrenches.

I'm a "little bit" insane, but I like it ! :D

A few of my duplicates and triples.
duplicates of duplicates.....thanks ! Now i feel better

Mostly a contruction material store for professionals. Wood, cement, paint, toilets, baths, piping etc.
And some tools :p
btw. how common is "Beargrip" brand in Netherland ?

It's my first time seeing a Gedore tool marked with anything other than Germany. All three pliers are marked Austria?
nice tool haul !!!
here you can see the production:

My newest Old School toy - a tiny Stahlwille box with metric sockets size 5 to 13 mm. All 1/4" drive.
It looks like it was hardly ever used.
Awesome find !!!! :pimpflash

Went to the hardware store today for some new side cutters, couldn't control myself and came back with this:

Some Gedore pliers and metric box end wrenches

Some Gedore 1/2 metric hex sockets and a Gedore 1/2 fine tooth ratchet

I've got a set of Gedore 1B a/f spanners bought in 1's and 2's to make up a set they're all marked Germany except for the 1 1/16 which just has the initials SA,it's a polished finish compared to the normal matt finish on the Gedore's

Cool to see some lesser known brands. I do have a Rheidco Metabo combination wrench myself, size 21mm.
I have a Metabo Rheidco socket set.

My Dad bought it in England sometime in the early 1970s.

I have some hex keys from beargrip (posted somewhere in this thread), but it's not a brand that is seen often. General toolstores have mainstream stuff like gedore/facom/hazet.
I have seen sets (mostly hex keys and Tgrip hex keys) lying around in professional factories/workshops who tend to order their stuff from large suppliers etc. Suppiers like that sell brands for 20 years etc and are less interested in the lowest price/asian brands.
You know, just like brands like 'Bernstein'. You never see that in shops, but large workshops have loads of stuff from them.

I am thinking to buy a set of combination wrenches from 10mm to 22mm.
Which brand to choose Wurth Zebra, Unior, Toptul, Rahsol, Force or IUS?

I'm not happy with IUS wrench set we have in shop. UNIOR is a good choice. I have no experience with the other brands you mentioned. IZELTAS is another decent choice, made in Turkey.

Hello,

I hope you can help me. My father has a really old Metabo hammer drill for over 40 years. Unfortunately it has no markings or serial numbers and we are desperate to find out what model it is as we need new brushings. It looks very similar to your silver and blue one (two pictures above). Could you please advise as to what model this is please, or how we may go about trying to find out which model we have.
Kind regards,
Sean

Arbor presses are cool. Sweet find. What's the capacity?

I'm not actually sure to be honest - I'll need to do a bit of research. I'm mostly going to be using it for bearings etc on my motorcycle, so doubtful I'll exceed it's capacity.

Hello everyone!

Does anybody in Germany makes a 3/8" socket bits for in-hex screws larger than 12mm?

I know Snap On and Koken make them in 13 and 14mm. But I want to buy German, please help :)

PB Swiss pick set is particularly nice, an adjunct to my somewhat older ABW set.

Does anyone know of a place that carries most Vessel products, and would ship to Norway? Their screwdrivers look awesome, and if the price isn't too bad, I'd like them to "complete" my screwdriver collection one day

Take a look at what Mark has:

I picked up a few bits and pieces a while ago-

I love the red handled, full tang screwdriver and actually prefer it over the German makes I have got.

Most still are, they just generally lack a COO mark. That ratchet is made in Italy for example. Facom's website states that the majority of their products are manufactured in Europe.

I'm pretty sure it was ultimately determined that the 440s were made in Europe (Czech Republic, as well as a couple of other European factories I think). There was some early speculation that they were made in Taiwan due to a similar appearance to Toptul's latest spanners, but it proved not to be true.

The round-head ratchets are Italian, the rotator ratchets are Taiwan, and the new pear-head ratchets are I believe Taiwan (although I don't actually recall whether that was conclusive).

Ratcheting spanners by most manufacturers are made in Taiwan, so no surprises there.

They do produce tools in Asia, but most of their tools are made in Europe. To quote directly from their website (http://www.facom.com/fr-en/a-103-Services.html):

"Two thirds of FACOM tools come from countries in Europe

Many Facom products are manufactured in France: all tool trolleys and storage furniture are produced at Feuquières in the Somme region, all screwdrivers and socket spanners at Arbois in the Jura, all pliers at Laissey in Doubs, and so on...
Only a third of the products manufactured come from partnerships with other industrial organisations, and these have to demonstrate scrupulous compliance with specific Facom purchasing specifications and with the very strictest of requirements."

There's more detail and maps on their website, showing what's made where.

I was so glad I spent the money on them. I also have a pb Swiss stubby driver that was remade purposely for tiedown screws on cameras. I'll take a pick it's in one of my cases.

Some letter number punches a family member gave me recently. Australian made maybe, but not branded that I can see. Even an ampersand.

I tried to attach/insert a second full size image, by copying the image address and inserting using the insert image icon and the copy stage keeps parsing the same image.
