I think that's the tool to push the locking pin on the handle of the Koloss ratchet so that you can remove the extension bar.

You're right.

but from the Hilti Edition

Is that volume 7 of the FG Magazine? I picked up a copy while I was there, and the write-up on the zero degree double box end wrenches is really pushing me toward the KTC wrenches. Wish they also compared the TONE ones but oh well...

Yes, Volume 7 it is.
Do you speak and read Japanese?

The KTC has a beefier overall ring end dimensions so I'm sure that played a role in those numbers.

http://www.solingerschneidwarensamstag.de

I also represent the Güde knife company, those knives are perfect kitchen tools made in Germany as Hazet or Stahlwille in wrenches.

Cool! I saw the photo gallery--nice photos.
So those participants open up their factories to the general public and it allows the companies to showcase their respective trade and craft, and also offers a bit of DIY type activities for the public to participate in?

Yes and yes. I would not call myself fluent but enough to get by in daily conversation, and only just enough reading comprehension to get the gist of the articles in the FG Magizine. For real technical sections/write ups I have to have my wife (she is Japanese) help me translate so I can grasp the full meaning of a statement.

Anywho, now I wish I did a closer comparison of the rings ends of the wrenches while I was looking at them in person in the store.

as soon i i open the box if i ever get a box with one inside...
cool ! :D
nope. never. ever. :monkey_po
oh yes! it would be better with air but i won't be getting a compressor in the near future. or maybe not... :D
the electric grinder has adjustable speed, more torque at the lower rpm range than the typical air tool, constant speed feature so the selected rpm stays under load so you can use your grinding discs, SC-disc, cleaning disc etc. with the optimum rpm. Less consumption of electrical energy too.
will get it tomorrow if all goes according to plan!
pics ?
good sign and good company too, SFS-Intec does produce some great quality first stuff.
never heard of them
at least i'm still alive after going after electrical lines in the walls, so... :rocker:
ok it seems it works  +- 10 centimeter accuracy ?;):dunno:
hey! shut up! or all the druggies will be trying to steal my hemp filled plugs now! :eek2:
lol :lol_hitti
my biggie Fein is definitely not so cute:
but still nice :)
:)late reply,, I found one a little older metabo in good condition, also variable speed.
Still need to buy a new collet for the 8mm shaft dia burrs, stones etc.
heyy nice ! have some pics ? :)
"Cutlery Saturday" in Solingen!? What's that about?
Are you going to start collecting fine knives, too? ;):D
see link above :)
:)
I´m not really into knives but i think it might be interesting to see how they are made or at least to see some machines and craftsmen in action. It would be more interesting to see some hand tools to be made but knives is as close as possible since there is no "open day" at a hand tool manufacturer afaik.

I got the web address from the latest issue of Factory Gear Magazine that I got a few weeks ago. Mr. Factory Gear went to Germany again and he visited that site. One day I scan them and post it.
aaahh cool !!! Need to get me one of the new issues....:)
What other places did Mr. Factory Gear visit ?

accuracy is accurate enough to not put a drillbit in a 220V line, that's accurate enough for me methinks!

most of which I bought before discovering PB Swiss
unfortunately the clear PB Swiss handles are not resistant to all chemicals like paint thinner for example.

now it *only* needs a good disassembly, derusting, column polishin', painting(powdercoating?), some brass sleeves, a small handle(where there's an ugly bolt), some grease, an adequate machinist vice(if that's what they're called in english) and, of course, a nice drill! :D

no more regrets over that nice blue Maxion that sold for peanuts on ebay.co.uk!

Summer gonna be full of refurbishing work with the Gressel vice, this stand and the Rollmaster! ;)

Here is a full set of Heyco/Felo torx. Grips are the same as the Frico VDE, 550 and 500 series. Won't have a problem finding this set from all of my frico drivers.

Heyco offers over 20 Felo screwdriver sizes not available from the parent compay. Including 2 14mm slots (one of them bolstered) , a longer 12mm slot (200mm), 2 different stubby slot drivers (4.0mm and 6.5 slot blades in addition to the 5.5mm offered by the parent co.) and a whole set of lighter weight bolster drivers without the striking cap.

Here is the link to the drivers. Click on the page and scroll down. They also offer an Orbis line of pliers and cutters and a beautiful line of polished chrome sockets and wrenches.

A huge thank you goes out to Ash (http://german-hand-tools.com/contactus.html) for making these available to me. Thank You!!

that FelHeycO green'n black bitdriver looks purty...

reminds me of the green Reca branded ones i was going to buy when the seller disappeared from the surface of the Earth and then the Reca guy i contacted next said 'no, cannot sell those tools to you, you're not a professional" after selling me some bitnutdrivers and a couple thousand stainless screws a month before...

like the Toyota dealerships that refuse to sell Toyota-branded Vessel Megadora screwdrivers since they're "professional grade tools solely to be used by professional mechanics" to poor peones like me...

can't understand the way french subsidiaries of Reca, Berner, Würth*, Hoffmann -even Wiha!- and the likes operate here. :headscrat
they don't seem to wan't my money and will happily let me go buy hundreds of euros of supplies at a time elsewhere while whining constantly that their sales are down. crazy *** dumbstards! :willy_nil

* not all Würth shops are like that, some, well, a couple of them really, will happily take cash and offer me a cup of coffee! thnaks guys! :rocker:

after posting the pics of the Fumasi screwdrivers a few weeks back, now is the time to show the black Fumasi side-cutters, some of my favorite ones with their ultra comfy black grips; smaller one has been in our toolbox for the past few years and biggie one is a recent flea market find, those two are the only Fumasi pliers i've ever seen in the flesh, err... steel:

Is this the KTC M160 being compared to similar spanners? Mind telling us what the outcome was?

Sorry for the delay, I was on holiday visiting family for the Memorial Day weekend, and finally have time to sit down and answer. The test was conducted on four zero degree double box end wrenches. The wrenches were 17/19mm and consisted of:

KTC M160-1719
Snap-on XDHFM1719
Deen DNML1719
Nepros NM11L1719

I'm not quite clear what the testing process was exactly, but it was a stress test until the tool failed/broke (they have pictures of the ring end split). I'm only guessing, but it is probably good to keep in mind the tools might not be rated for the following Nms (ft lbs):

17MM
KTC - 689.55 Nm; 508.58 ft lbs
Deen - 569.91 Nm; 420.34 ft lbs
Snap-on - 521.57 Nm; 384.69 ft lbs
Nepros - 548.67 Nm; 404.67 ft lbs

19MM
KTC - 856.30 Nm; 631.57 ft lbs
Deen - 646.11 Nm; 476.54 ft lbs
Snap-on - 686.05 Nm; 506 ft lbs
Nepros - 696.25 Nm; 513.52 ft lbs

They also have performed similar tests on ratchets, breaker bars, offset double box end wrenches, combination wrenches, hex wrenches (L-Keys), hex socket wrench, and screwdrivers. I would be more than happy to post results for those tests if the interest is there, just let me know what test you want.

[EDIT] I should add some tests include European manufacturers, so as to keep with the Tools of the old world theme.

Here is some of Japan's Vessel offerings. If you need the JIS cross tips, you picked one of the better manufacturers. Here are some links to help with your inquiry. The first link will explain why you may or may not need JIS in your tool arsenal.
