Looks smaller in your pic than in the vid.

you'll only need to do a Reverse-Hannibal™(crossing of the Alps backward for the historically impaired) to go get it... :D
Does he have to drag the dead elephants back or can he skip that part ?

Sorry for the delay, I was on holiday visiting family for the Memorial Day weekend, and finally have time to sit down and answer. The test was conducted on four zero degree double box end wrenches. The wrenches were 17/19mm and consisted of:

KTC M160-1719
Snap-on XDHFM1719
Deen DNML1719
Nepros NM11L1719

I'm not quite clear what the testing process was exactly, but it was a stress test until the tool failed/broke (they have pictures of the ring end split). I'm only guessing, but it is probably good to keep in mind the tools might not be rated for the following Nms (ft lbs):

17MM
KTC - 689.55 Nm; 508.58 ft lbs
Deen - 569.91 Nm; 420.34 ft lbs
Snap-on - 521.57 Nm; 384.69 ft lbs
Nepros - 548.67 Nm; 404.67 ft lbs

19MM
KTC - 856.30 Nm; 631.57 ft lbs
Deen - 646.11 Nm; 476.54 ft lbs
Snap-on - 686.05 Nm; 506 ft lbs
Nepros - 696.25 Nm; 513.52 ft lbs

They also have performed similar tests on ratchets, breaker bars, offset double box end wrenches, combination wrenches, hex wrenches (L-Keys), hex socket wrench, and screwdrivers. I would be more than happy to post results for those tests if the interest is there, just let me know what test you want.

[EDIT] I should add some tests include European manufacturers, so as to keep with the Tools of the old world theme.

Thank you for that.
I suppose that under normal use you'd never be able to break any of them; a 12 mm (17 mm spanner) dry 12.9 flange bolt calls for a maximum torque of 142Nm, while a 14 mm (19 mm spanner) calls for 226Nm.
I had sort of hoped the TOP STM-L would be in there as they're on the wish-list for the pit box :D Looking at those numbers the KTC M160's might not be too bad an alternative.

Bahco pliers brand of old series, but instead of the bait fish with the image of a shark appears, does not say where it was made, but I think maybe in Argentina.

I found this wincha Stanley made in USA in a hardware store where other tools of old stock, wrenches, pliers, chisels, among other things, there was a set of screwdrivers marked Challenguer USA. On the website I saw is a trademark of Proto, anyone know anything else?

Price wise, between those four the KTC M160's are a stellar deal. I did not realize TOP made a zero degree as well. I had to look those up and they look pretty good. I'm sure they would perform just as well, as the test showed the wrenches probably stressed beyond their safe usage limits, as you also mentioned. However, I haven't found any TOP zero degree wrenches in a store in Japan yet, so I imagine availability is limited. Most places, however, do have TOP adjustable wrenches. I wish they also tested the TONE M05 series, as those are widely available in most Home Center Pro Shops, and are just a little bit cheaper than the KTC M160's.

My first guess would be Sweden, since the shark-logo was a remain from the E.A. Berg factory (Eskilstuna, Sweden), aquired by Bahco in the 60's. The "modern" fish&hook logo was first used consequently after the Snap-On take-over in 1999. All my older, Argentinian Bahco tools displays only the "typographic" BAHCO logo.

Sidecutters with shark-logo ... E.A. Berg. Note that even if there is many years between year of manufacture, they still carry the same type number (1528).

Picked up a nicer heat gun with some accessories. Probably overkill, but so are many tools.

And got another Metabo grinder for the shop. WA 11-125 Quick. 5" with autobalancer but still the lock on switch. A lot of them in the US have the paddle switch which I do not like at all. Would've gotten the W14-125 Plus but figured I'd see what the autobalancer was all about, didn't need the variable speed really just wanted the power. I really think this grinder is a great value for someone wanting a good German made Metabo thats even more smooth and with more power but a good price and still 4.5/5" size. I paid a little more locally but Amazon has it for $167.

Black ring is the balancer. I put brand new Metabo 4.5" grinding wheels in both the W8 and the WA11 and the vibration difference was noticeably better with the balancer. They are smooth without one to begin with. I'm sure worn wheels or different brands will make it even more noticeable. The power difference was nice. W8 does great compared to other 4.5 grinders, but you can still run out of power with 4.5 wheels, the W11 gives you the right amout but I wouldn't complain if I had a W14 either.

Right at home with the rest.

I posted this German "tool" awhile back when we got it. Its getting close to the 1,000hr mark and living up to both the Fendt reputation and German built reputation overall. Had one hydraulic line crack early on, an air line fall out of a push connect and a DEF issue. The DEF issue is expected, everything is having issues with it, surprisingly we've only had one with this tractor and we had a brutal winter. The other two seemed like possible assembly errors. By the 1000hr mark on our French assembled (Multinationally engineered/global parts) tractor this on replaced, it had easily spent a few months in the shop and still didn't have its issues worked out.

I really hope I don't jinx this thing by talking about how reliable its been, but its a nice change of pace when everything else thats new seems so unreliable the only thing you can count on is a breakdown.

Added a little extra German touch to it too.

Cosmik asked if we replaced a Claas with the Fendt. We don't have Claas tractors in the US yet. Just a few Xerions. Doesn't sound like the Claas tractors carry the same reputation as some of their other products just by reading some british forums. We replaced a Massey Ferguson with the Fendt. Its painted orange but identical to the MF. The orange color was dropped in 2010.

On the topic of Claas we do have a Jaguar that we've been very happy with.

Roverbo Thanks for clarifying the picture of the probable origin of this tool .... and as mentioned to Sweden, I leave some photos of a flexible tube Hultafors

I've seen a couple of clips by this guy - he's quite a laugh! He's into his electricity as much as the guys on this forum are into their garages! Knows his stuff though!

His vid on 'standby power' is especially good watching for folks in the U.K.

God knows what his neighbours make of it all though!!

Athlet looks like they make some cool stuff.
The Diamond grip stuff and their precision stuff looks interesting after a quick look at their catalog.
Are all Athlet screwdrivers made in Germany ?

I wanted to upgrade my Metabo drill and found a good deal in this. It took me a while find a retailer; most did not want to help me out even though they were in stock with Metabo USA.

nice addition to your growing Metabo collection !!! The Autobalancer is really helpful especially with slightly worn grinding wheels but also flap wheels/cleaning discs (they´re not always 100% centered)
The heat gun is great too !!

nice equipment !! I´ll get me one just for fun as soon as i´m millionaire ;)
this one i think :) or a MB Trac :)

everybody seems to be pretty happy with their Jaguars.
is yours french made? if so a couple guys i regularly play badminton with definitely had a hand or two in it at some point before it crossed the Atlantic... i'll let them know how happy you are next time they pulp me on the court. :D

i tried to get a clear view of who makes what and who rebrands what in the tractor world one day and stopped my research quickly, it was almost as if they were related to the tool industry, one of the most incestuous/perverted industry there is, where the most improbable and bastardish offsprings of two or more brands appear all the time in catalogs. wouldn't surprise me one bit they were really closely related...

anyway, i'll try to get a free tour of the Woippy factory and see if i can go piccy-piccy inside. ;)

thnaks for the pics, Fendt looks better than the MF.

Yeah it can be tough to stay on top of the buyouts and such.

The Jaguars are built in Harsewinkel Germany. My parents got to tour it when we bought it a couple years ago. Neat plant they said.

The Fendt tractors all roll of the same like in Marktoberdorf Germany.

The MF 8600 series are built in Beauvais France along with others. The ones for North America are now assembled in Minnesota.

Agco is very hard to keep straight. The 8600 series uses the Fendt CVT and Valtra engine (Sisu). Agco bought both of these companies on the 90s. The 8600 series is also offered in Challenger brand which Agco bought from Cat in 02. They also use this platform for the Valtra S series.

MF is kind of their "Global" brand,Challenger is supposedly for the "Professional", Fendt is their premium brand and Valtra has a unique market.

It's really a lot like the car companies who share platforms across models and brands. Agco has really narrowed down their brands though to streamline things.

re Ruko DE sources; thanks Monte.

The online stores ship Europe only, but were interesting, recorded for future reference.
I have waded through Amazon DE and ordered Ruko countebore set 102453 Flachsenkersatz DIN 373 HSS M3 - M10 ; just HSS ( couldn't find the Ti nitrided) and Ruko step drill set - Ruko A101032F Stufenbohrer Satz Tiain von Ruko ; titanium nitrided

The prices were quite good; 61 eur for the counterbore set, 42 eur for the step drill set!
