My new toy arrived today. Won on the ebay for $85ish.

So much shorter and easier to maneuver than the Hitachi. I think I either paid $7 or $15 for the Hitachi at a swap meet, but didn't think I'd ever find a super clean, possibly unused Metabo, so I embraced the **** and shelled out the clams.

Monte approved? lol

.

So you peaked my interest is it a grinder but not angled? How and when do you use it and what's the benefit over an angled one if it is? I figured if I don't ask I don't learn!
Thanks, :)

Monte the gedore screwdrivers have no made in Slovenia. Also the gedore click r pliers are look the same as the nws but no Solingen or anything about coo on them.
afaik the older Gedore drivers were from Slovenia too.

Abus Diskus lock.
Nice, but unfortunately, a cheap Chinese-made cordless grinder will go through the shackle in less than a minute.
yeah it´s more like a anti-borrow protection :)

Monte approved? lol
yes officially approved :D and you **** ! :D:thumbup:

Well, it's a die grinder, and spins 27,000 rpm vs an angle grinder that spins 10-12,000 rpm.

Die grinders are usually the pneumatic variety, but electric is nice as well. Die grinders take 1/4", sometimes 1/8", shaft tools (usually burrs for metal-or wood) in the collet, vs 5/8x11 threads on an angle grinder. 2 different machines all together.

Here is a video of an electric DeWalt in use....

Monte, thanks for the approval!

Thanks for taking the time to explain it, nice video really shows the tool in use and its ability. Reminds me of an oversize Dremel :)
Learn something new everyday, much appreciated!

So we can consider that BOSCH is all about profit right now. I was wondering why is it that I don't have anything from them. I think I got my answer.

I live in Peru and the vast majority of tools that come here are made in China, this applies equally for Bosch, Makita, Dewalt, Milwake, etc brands that are common in the Peruvian market.

You can find some made in Germany Bosch tools, but are the least and basically drills, hammer drill, saws and some angle grinder model, the rest is Asian.

A few days ago I bought this iron plastering to finish some work at home, but Stanley had a wooden handle, so Haromec acquired this brand made in Germany, the strange thing is that I find on the web references about this brand:dunno:. .. maybe someone can help me ..

As a final comment I must confess that my intention was to buy a Marshalltown made in USA, but cost four times more than this Haromec:shocking:, so I decided on the latter.

Does Wera still have production in Germany?I got a box of 7 screwdrivers marked Solingen Germany along with a bunch of other stuff when I requested some stickers.Pretty unbelievable, maybe 70-80 euros worth of stuff delivered to my door in a box, including three of those screwdriver handle bottle openers and a bunch of stickers, how's that for customer service?

Festo makes pneumatic components. Widely used in indutrial applications.
That tool is a regular pneumatic air line cutter. I am sure you can use it to cut detonation cord but I am also sure it wasn't made for that purpose. It's sort of a more robust version of this

This question has propably been asked many times, but I'm still gonna go for it. I'm about to purchase some NWS pliers (at least long nose + linesman) but found myself wondering if I'd be better of with Cobras than the Quattrogrips. Quattros don't lock am I right? Will I be missing that (apparently not since I don't know about it :D )? Prices are about the same.

These C30 series flank drive Gedore sockets aren't what I would call high quality. The center bore isn't always centered and the finish isn't the greatest. I guess they are made in South Africa going by the web page on the bottom of the tag.

The bore on the 10mm socket needs a bit of material removed from it so it will fit on the socket holder. lol.
