We are at 20% vat currently.
It all depends on how bad each country finances are and how much the government thinks they can screw out of the population.

So I have an issue, the Diablo discs are garbage and are pretty unbalanced from the factory, so I have nothing good to test these with. I have some Metabo Slicers on the way, but in the meantime, all I can tell you is the autobalancer works (the crappier of the two Diablo discs vibrated less on the Metabo than on the Fein), the Fein is actually not too bad to hold, but the paddle is really the only paddle I've tried that I don't mind.

Fein's "quick" system is a little more annoying, they switch to a locking bolt instead of a nut, which you can't remove with gloves on. Metabo's is okay too, I was hoping this would have their flip-out wing nut, but it's not. I don't use the "quick" function either that's jamming the pin in while it's spinning down; I can just wait till it stops, pull on the wheel, and the nut comes loose.

Hope the blue will be sold in the states. I know Gedore can't (or agreed not to) market or sell their polished line with blue plastic grips here because of action taken by Channellock. Gedore was attempting to establish itself here though. The situation with Knipex is very different. Expensive and fully functional novelty. I'm in.

Channellock has a registered trademark for the light blue grips used for their tool handles. They were supposedly the first, or one of the first companies to register this type of trademark. Dewalt has a trademark for the yellow and black color combination used for their tools. Dewalt actually won a lawsuit against one or more companies that tried to sell yellow and black colored tools, so this might explain why Gedore might be wary of trying to sell tools with light blue handles in the US.

In case you're wondering, yes I find being able to trademark a single color for ones tools overly restrictive and ridiculous.

voodooaw,

The Gedore pliers are indeed the insulated models. Each one is laser engraved "1000V" at the right side of the cutters.

Dave

Just have a glance at gedore brasil website, they engrave "1000V" on "JC" serious pliers with blue and black handles. Don't know if they have the same handle as JC serious sold in germany or just red and yellow VDE handles in blue and black coat.
