I've got a mixture of Gedore Austria and German made knipex. I definitely prefer the finish on the Gedores. Sort of a bead blasting then satin chrome.

Very nice finish, looks like they forge the coarse form, and then cnc-machine the round slots.

My first Fluke (made in China)

China ? ...But it´s still a Fluke  - The standard. Even the standard test cords are better than any other make!

For Stahlwille fans in the EU these are a good price. At first I thought the engraved 'S' stood for second but they have over 1500 in stock and have been selling them for almost 2 years on ebay.co.uk
They can't all be grade 2 and they are indeed discontinued in 6 point by Stahlwille.

Tool Führer Monte might know more ?

what's your experience with Beta double open ended spanners?
they work :) Fitment is good, design is standard, finish is a bit unusal because it´s glossier than the german wrenches. I mainly bought them because they were cheaper than others and i wanted to own some tools from Beta :)

My first Fluke (made in China)
just in case somebody needs a "Made in Germany" version :D ;)

Have you ani information about this brand ? Quality ?

Look massively
"Faust" is just a brand like "Craftsman".

Monte Nice box BUT, most of the tools are German and the box is French, do you think either of them will mind?
nope because they´re from the EU :)

There was a discussion about these a while ago here. It seems they´re legit. I don´t know what the "S" means though.

“Genuine 47S series chrome plated 6-point UNIFLEX sockets made of HPQ high performance steel. These models have been discontinued by Stahlwille and are engraved with 'S' to indicate this. Available only while stocks last. Supplied as-is without any warranty.”

Well look at that, I think that the ones they sell now does not have the same print with made in West Germany on them though, the green Heyco ones still has it,wonder if it could be that they still are selling the old ones or if they just have not bothered to update the machinery.

The green heycos still seems to be sold in different configurations all with the text W. GERMANY which I think is a bit funny considering it is about 26 years since the fall of the Berlin wall.

Yes they are quite expensive, the one I bought was listed for 20 euro, I would not have bought it for that, but I got a nice discount since I bought some other stuff as well.

These made by Wiha seem more competitively priced:

Another source for cheap German made wooden screwdrivers in the UK. Felo for only £3.50 GBP. You can walk into a DIY store here and pay more for Chinese tat.

So, pliers question: really become impressed by two brands - Orbis and Keiba. Which would you take and why? (Price being relatively the same)

Or in true GJ fashion, is their a justification to get both?

Hi Monte,

Do you know country of origin for the Mafell? Is it the same machine as the Metabo?
