Now I have two problems to solve.

1. Do the x-drive new models have the same problem not being parallel?

2. How is the play on the screw compared say to Irega, Bahco, etc.?

Off to the hardware store for staples as soon as the SWMBO is back. The baby is upstairs sleeping...

Some Hazet items through Amazon.

The Athlet chisel and Gedore half-moon spanners came from an independent DIY shop on the continent. They had a fairly large selection of tools suited to different budgets - Gedore, Witte, Heyco, Felo, Unior, York, Heuer etc... along with a whole host of never heard of before brands for the more occasional user.

Amongst all these tools was a set of WGB double ring-end deep offset spanners that seemed to be from mixed production runs. Some spanners clearly had a different finish and 'GERMANY' replaced with 'DAS WERKZEUG'.
So, does this mean that the Gesenkschmiede in Breckerfeld has gone silent?

They are pretty accurate with the weight statement of 2.1kg which is not heavy but not light either if you working in awkward places.

This is very nice! Better than my Gedore. It secure the bit tighter and works with one hand. You simple pushing the bit inside and it secure tightly. To get the bit out pull the ring and the bit pops out.

Hmm, the blue bit holder looks similar to the Metabo ones? Grooving is different though.

They have another style as well.

I have the first set, and it's indeed very tight...I've gotten the bit stuck in it a few times.

Probably best to contact that ebay vendor, the arndt website mentions in their Terms of Service that they only do international sells above 100€. You hardly gonna pay that for two sets of bits.

Who's making the best quality circular saw (maybe a lightweight job, cordless, 7"+) these days? I've seen Festool and I'm considering it. But maybe there's something else a little less expensive that I should consider?

I ordered the Metabo via amazon and it was made in PRC. Maybe there's a version also made in Germany. In any case, I'd prefer something made inEurope if possible.

Suggestions?

I noticed Mafell but they certainly aren't cheap either!

What are you looking for in a circular saw? To crosscut? Rip? A little of both?

I'm pretty much set on picking up a Mafell KSS 40. Cutting depth isn't huge, but for 99% of what I'll do, it do quite well. It's built for crosscutting, but will do any other tracksaw work w/ the flex rail (not cabinet saw grade cuts, but pretty good nonetheless). Also they use the Metabo battery system, which gets you a pretty good breadth of tools.

You can import them w/o batteries for $600 + shipping last I checked since the Euro bombed, and no dealing w/ voltage differences since the platforms are the same internationally.

That's a nice machine, a bit too much for the weekend worrier. I mean the price... you can almost go mig-mag for that .. Cebora or something .

Any known brand second hand one will probably last a thousand years around the house.

I have a telwin inverter with similar rating and duty cycle that was a bit cheaper. It has a really nice arc. That said I have been grabbing the Chinese tig more and more lately.

The work send me two day trip to Dillingen Germany, not the best place to be although nice country side.

I will be in Netherlands for 4-5 days tour and 4 days in Belgium border with Aachen and Maastricht[emoji106]

Any shops that have good price in Netherlands? As far as I have seen are quite pricey especially on power tools.
