I thought Fumasi is made in Italy ?

Nice Jack saw, another good brand ruined by Irwin, they were almost totally dominant in the hardpoint hand saw market here and now are an also ran at best.
but at least still made in Denmark :)

Another tool with no COO stamp on either the tool itself or the packaging.
I hope this is not a new "thing".

I usually buy Bahco hand saws (current ones made in Sweeden)
Or Spear and Jackson (no coo listed) but they are good, the same price as any and the handle is really good.
We use plenty and buy in boxes of 10.
Literally 10 years ago Jacks were all your could find in the merchants, nobody I knew or worked with then used anything else. Now there are a couple options everywhere.

Here are some of my tool purchases from the last few weeks:

McMaster-Carr:

Wera Standard Hex Plus Hex Key Set (Made in Czech Republic)

Compared to regular hex keys, Wera (Facom has a similar technology) has a patented technology called Hex Plus. Hex Plus has concave edges on the flat edges of the hex keys to prevent rounding on the interior of hex bolts. The below picture compares a Dewalt 5/16" hex key on the left to a Wera 5/16" hex key on the right. The Dewalt has noticeably straight flat edges on the hex key flat edges compared to the Wera.

Local Industrial Tool Supply:

Wiha Tools Polyester Canvas Pouch (Model# 91118; Made in China)

I know this is "NOT an old world purchase" but it is from the US based Wihatools.com catalog. This is the second one I own. They are high quality despite the COO. The first one I use to store my high-end mini flat and Phillips screwdrivers. This one I purchased to store the Moody Tools miniature screw extractors and possibly other mini screwdrivers.

HomeDepot.com:

I took advantage of last month's online only $10 off $100 promotion. I purchased the below Knipex pliers.

Knipex Pipe Gripping Pliers (Made in Germany)

IMG_20161105_170826_zpsmelwqwxu.jpg

Knipex 12 Inch S-Shape Pipe Wrench (Made in Germany)

The reasons the I purchased the Knipex Swedish style pipe wrench were due to its advanced tooth and jaw features. It will come in handy down the road in plumbing and automotive suspension repair situations. You can read about these features here: HomeDepot.

Over here you see mostly Stanley or Bahco or store brands and Irwin is generally not very common...Maybe the other brands offer better margins or have more enthusiastic sales reps...

I could see that being useful possibly in low access angle situations, but I'd grab a Knipex pliers wrench every time before trying that thing.

Nice to know the blades are Swedish, the knife is nice, my second of these, they are one of this years Christmas promotions, 3 bright colours, available everywhere for £5.
I usually buy the cheap English made blades that are as good as any.

Due Buoi spatulas are indeed for cooking.

I will wait to answer your question because I got many more scissors arriving soon. I also bought 2-4 of each pair from each brand because these will be distributed to many many many family members:eyecrazy:! Most of the scissors are fabric cutting, which I am not an expert on. However I also ordered Kitchen and paper scissors, so that I can give you an opinion on.

You would not believe how many different scissors I seen and felt the last few weeks. Made in China, Taiwan, Germany, USA, Italy, Mexico, Japan, Finland! All over the world.
Many thanks Hautpot[emoji106]

Nice video Monte.

But where do you buy Dolex gripping pliers in Germany? They seem to be a less expensive alternative to Facom.

I tried to buy some from here (I placed an order over a year ago but nothing happened and they did not reply to my emails; at least they did not charge me with anything).

Hi Hautpot,

I had the impression that Japanese scissors are better, does this hold true or Fiskars are on the same league?

Are these Due Buoi for cooking or something else?

Thanks

Orange Fiskars are one of the greatest scissors in the world. Don't really know about the current ones but the pair we have in daily kitchen use is propably 20 years old.

I've destroyed couple of cheaper black fiskars scissors in shop use over time, but you really can't blame scissors if you cut evrything from wire to thin aluminium with them.

And after 26 years I'm still using these to cut my nails. I've got them as a part of my layette.:)

I agree.

Also fiskars are very affordable. Japanese scissors can become quite pricey. I suppose comparing all the manufacturers in a country with Fiskars.

There are some German scissor makers that produce a great product too... at a hundred bucks for a handmade pair though... not fair to compare.

Orange fiskars are simply some of the best affordable mass produced scissors around.
