love it, size five. If you haven't seen the washer mechanism it feels way better with more control.

I own Snap-On dead blows and they seem horrible now. I've used Estwing (Taiwan), and Trusty Cook and same deal. The pellet mechanism is inferior.

:) don´t worry i won´t change until i´m dead :)
Thank you very much

:)
about €3000.- for the lift itself and €500.- for the base plate. I wanted a cheaper option (rebadged Nussbaum for 500.- less) but they couldn´t deliver the base plate in a timely manner so i went with the original. The italians (Zavagli Santi, Ravaglioli) offer better prices so this might be a good option.

luckily we have a small forklift in our garage...:

Monte you used chemical anchors to fix the base plate or only steel hex concrete anchors?

I believe they are called finger / palm ratchets. In English.

Mine (1/4) is PRC too similar to your but red. I don't use it much but it's a very useful tool to have around!

Maybe Monte or someone knows the answer to this.

I've a number of tools from USA made, German made, French made etc. Generally their chrome colour is all very similar, with one exception. Gedore. Their chrome is always very light in colour, almost like aluminum. I couldn't find anything on their website. Is it a special chrome? Just something they do to make their tools stand out? Its a very distinct finish.

Could be industrial hard chrome. It's very bright silver.

The jaws look like File teeth.:shocking:
Lindstrom is good at making electronic pliers, how can they make such a terrible cutting pliers:headscrat

Nope! I'm sorry to say they 'made' (past tense) good cutters, but the firm got bought out, and as seems to be the way when a firm gets bought by an American company, all the products were outsourced and only a similar looking product (not similar quality) is now offered!

Many British firms have suffered a similar fate.

I guess they make short term money by selling cheaply produced tools on the strength of a once good brand name, but the long term future is doubtful, and of course none of those firms built their brand names by such practices...!

Those are great carving tools
Got a few in my tool chest, as good as anything out there chisel wise

Carving knives I have to say I like the ones I make. The German ones are very serviceable though just not as fancy

Those are gripping pliers with teeth, they make them smooth as well. The only cutters in that pic are the oval head (ibelieve) semi-flush cutters.

That being said, they still may be **** cutters...:willy_nil

I am looking for a torch that can utilise the high temperature of the mapp gas.

Which is better? the Turbotorch, Sievert or Rothenberger and which design, the rotating one like in the 1st picture or the one in the 2nd picture?

Many thanks

Bosch Planner made in Switzerland. Bought together with the saw above and has processed hundreds of meters if not km of wood. Not an easy life through nails etc. and we rebuild it once with new bearings and blade holder etc. Still going strong though.

Below is a cheap rotary drill and I am sure it was made in China. We have only used it once and did a small job. Not sure how good would be but my dad bought it from a flea market.

The chucks are made in Germany for Rohm and England for Jacobs.

Depends what you are doing with it. Rothenberger Superfire 2 is pretty good, i have brazed 7/8" pipe with it. Only problem i find is they can stop working permanently when used in cold weather, i think the internals wax up. The other type you show you can unscrew the burner to get to the nozzle to clean out any wax or ****.
You can also get double and triple burner versions of the swively type.

The one i mainly use at work is a Turbo Torch Turbo Snake which is like the swivel one only with a rubber hose, which makes it easier to get in tight places and theres no risk of flames flaring up if the mapp bottle gets inverted.

I have also in the past used two torches to get something hot enough quick enough, before switching to just one to braze.

I use Rothemberger Power Fire piezo at home ,that you can use with Multigas or Mapp gas for brazing. Here in Italy is difficult to find Sievert and accessories for Sievert( which are more expensive and probably better than rothemberger).
How said monkeyspanners depends what you are doing with it,Rothemberger is not expensive and are perfect for domestic use.I bought it power fire piezo + mapp tube for 49€ to Leroy merlin.

Thanks for the feedback.

I think in order to get the max temperature it is important to use the correct torch because the gas alone won't make the difference.

I will have to spend some time through their specs to find out.

What kind of tools Leroy Merlin has? Any good products madevin old world or USA, Japan?

Cheers

For soft soldering ~450degrees multigas is perfect(i use it for copper and cost about 4-5€ fot tube),for hard soldering-brazing ~1000-1200 degrees mapp gas is more than enough.
Yes the most expensive have a beter control to the deflection flames.
I think all (rothemberger, sievert ,power)have a good quality deflector burner and can reach easy 1600degrees.

To Leroy-merlin from old world can find mostly USAG-made in Italy-France(stanley),sometime ago i see screwdriver Dexer(WIHA-Germany),Bassoli file(very good file),Opinel, some Proxxon tools,Hailo, some Bahco saw-made in Sweden and China,Balma-compresors,Stanley,hitachi,bosch green, some Ryobi,Black-decker.Nothing from Usa-Japan,nothing pro, mostly electric tools from China ,some Hitachi from England

Does anyone know what's up with this Wera PZ3 screwdriver? I found it in the flea market.
It says 55 SPZ on it and blade 150 mm long and there's a "Rocko Diamant" text on it.
Doesn't appear anywhere on their site.
